Called my cell phone this morning. No message left. Don't know anyone in this area code...especially one who would have my cell number!

They called, left no message. When I tried to call back the recording says that it has been disconnected. How can it be disconnected if it's able to call me?

I just got a call from these people.  The woman did give me her company name, or rather the name she represents, which is s Internet website marketing thing.  The call is coming from a call center in either Pakistan or India based on her accent.  I have no idea how she got my cell number as I thought I didn't use it in connection with my website, but maybe I did somewhere.  I've got my land lines registered at the NDCR but maybe not my cell.  Just did that.  Hope it'll work to stop future calls.  :P

You can report them to the Federal Trade Commission. I usually call them back and leave a message telling them that I am on the "do not call registry" and that I am filing a complaint against them right now with the Federal Trade Commission. The Federal Trade Commission does not take action unless there are a lot of complaints, but it seems to work. The calls stop. Here is the link:  http://www.donotcall.gov/complaintcheck.aspx

This is the most ridiculous attempt i've ever seen at telemarketing.  The caller asks for "who is responsible for the marketing of your company website".  But they can't tell me the name of the company or the url from the website.  They won't tell me the company they are calling from, and this is the 3rd time i have asked them to remove me from their calling list.  What other action is there against these people?

I get called by this number every few weeks. When I ANSWER it, they are looking for someone else (a "Steven Fisher") that possibly had this cell number before I did.
