I own an upstate NY biz, and we get repeated hang up calls from this number. Nobody is every on the other end. Caller ID says "Local area call"

I got a call from a guy from "The Police Conference of New York" requesting a donation of $100.  They said they would send a uniformed police officer in a marked car to the door to pick up the donation on Tuesday.  No one came on Tuesday.  On Wednesday, UPS showed up with an envelope with a return address in Wisconsin.  We refused the package and intend to call the real Police Conference of New York to confirm how they solicit and accept donations.

Be wary.

Just received a phone call from this number. The man said he was from a police league, and was asking for donations.

This number called me, no message, so I googled it and on that phone number, there is a 1-800-689-7120, so I called it, does not give you a chance to talk to anyone, so void this call, it sounds like a fake business trying to get money.

We got the same call a man calls asked for the owner and refuses to say what it is all about.  He was told that unless you say what is it all about you will never get the owner and all he said i will call back and hung up rude individual

Get calls daily from this # but person never say's anything & is what led me to finally Google search

I keep on receiving calls from this guy pretend to be a police commissioner and asking for small business to make donations. I actually make a donation to him through my credit card, he said 3 Mets game tickets will be included but the tickets never came but money was deducted from my credit card for sure. Then a month later, this guy calls again asked me for another donation, this time he represent another nonprofit government organization. Now he calls my number at least once a week regularly. You should be alert if you receive call from 6312596142, he is fake!

Just received a call from a guy saying he was from the Police Conference of New York. He was trying to be intimidating and screamed at me when I kept asking if he was from the NYPD. He just kept repeating he was from the Police Conference of New York, but never said he was from the NYPD.

geting several harrasments calls from this number. same guy,real jerk. when i recognize his voice i hang up. he will proceed to call anonymously so his umber is restircted by caller id.

Got a call today from lady identifying herself as Leslie Rand, of "The Police conference on Child Abuse," she asked to speak to the owner of the company, hung up quickly when I said he was not available. . .

Got a call a few minutes ago from a rude guy asking for the owner. I asked what it was regarding. He asked for the names of any owners in particular. I said no and hung up.

B.S. company that collects $$$ and gives pennies on the dollar to the organization.

No message, no anything.  Just frequent calls.

As you all said this tough guy answered after a long delay. I said hello a few times and go "Yeah! I need to speak to the owner" and when I told him he's not available he said "I'll call back." and hung up. Very aggressive and rude.

The guy that called me was Frank DeCause asking for money or the Police. He was pushy and rude. I told him repeatedly when he calls to send me stuff in the mail. They never do. They keep calling back.

Called and asked to speak to the owner.  When I asked who was calling he said Tony.  I asked for more information and he said  tony greco from the police conference of NY. I identified myself as general counsel and said I could help him and he hung up.

I got the same call today from this number and was a bit concerned cause they asked for my husband by name when I asked who's calling the rude man said is he home?  I said no...this is his wife..asked again who was I?  I repeated myself and he hung up...he has called in the past being rude from blocked numbers.  I am going to report this number cause it's really annoying!

Just got a call from this number.  A man said, "You're in trouble" and hung up.  I've put up with a helluva lot worse living in Manhattan, so if he calls back, I'm ready for him.

I let the answering machine get it bc the Caller ID said, ?local area call? & the number is clearly not local (how lame!)  There was a long pause, then it disconnected.

Rude jerk keeps calling and always demands to speak to the owner. He makes it sound like an emergency. He has called several times and he is always rude.  A couple of times a rude female calls from the same number. Caller I.D. is 631 259 6142 South Hampton N.Y.
