This is a scam someone saw my horse on drains list and set up a similar deal.My bank thinks it is a scam

I have received several texts from this number from a craigslist ad that I had something for sale on.  They have sent a check for 7400.00 that looks real and a name of Alejandra Avalos Llerenas in Fresno California, the check was mailed from Fresno, written on a PA bank from a Texas fund of some kind.  Bank thinks check is real and is checking it out for me.
