I just got this guy texting me about a two dolly. He states his name is James. He sent me a text saying, " I'm James and I will like you to consider it sold, I will not be able to come down for the viewing and pick up personally but I will be happy if you an get back to me with some recent pictures of it. I will be paying via PayPal simply because I only have access to my PayPal account and I have a ice up agent that will be coming for pick up after payment has been made" . That is exactly what he sent with the errors that are present.

i have had a e mail .. sent to me from a MR STEPHEN WILLIAMS,..with an intrest to buy a motorcycle from me....VALENCIA ...SPAIN.... it seems to be the same scam......

He contacted me saying he was buying my four wheeler for his cousin wanted to use paypal

Yes this happened to me today he tried buying my truck  with the craiglist information and wanted me to pay 1100 to him and send money to his sons manager. And told me he was a air force sargent, he ask me for my pay pal info to and send money through Walmart but he is still texting me wanting to ssend money this f****r is gonna pay he will go down..

Have my boat for sale, same scam as above. Texted and I said call.Got 3 more messages about for his Dad, etc.
Will never sell a $75K item without contact and a contract, never buy an item that large without a look-see, never give out paypal account info.

i had a snow cat for sale on craigslist and this number was texting me saying he was fine with the price i had priced my snow cat and was very intereseted and first he said he is a petroleum enginer and is currently off shore then later on in texts he said he was a adventure travler and was out of state! he wanted this snowcat as a surprise to his father as a new year gift.but in order for me to get the paypal payment i had to send $900.00 to western union for a company named stephen williams city:los angeles state: california zip code:90016 country: united states to pick it up for him and then he would send me the money! This number has not quite texting me dayly and he said (text from him) he was gonna inform the FBI i will let you know that you can not be smarter on me. his texts dont make much sense either! his email address that i was given is: jameskins92@gmail..com PlEASE BEWARE AND STAY SAFE PEOPLE!!! THANKS

Yep, got a TXT from this guy today. Same routine, paying full price to paypal. What a joke.

This is 100% a scammer!
I received a text from this number offering to purchase my vehicle at the full asking price, but he is overseas and has to have his agent handle everthing.
ALL BS!!!!

Put a camp trailer on Craigslist and this guy claiming to be James Kings.  He say's same bs that everyone else on here said.  He getting it for a gift to his son and so on.  He sending extra money for a pick up and so on.  It a scam don't do it!!

This is the first thing I have ever tried to sell something on Craigslist and I have had about 5 scams..... All of the people have a gmail address!!  All the scam  tell you they are on and oil rig and will have pickup agent come get it! Just give me you Paypal address!!!
I contacted Paypal and YES IT IS A SCAM....BEWARE!!!

First this person sent me text wanting to buy the car for the price I listed on craigslist and requested few more pics. Then asked me to send my paypal details so that he/she can transfer the full amount + shipping fee which agent needs to pick up the car. The person also texted me saying that he/she is Petroleum engineer and is currently out of States.
Here's the email that I received after some text messages:
"I will be making payment now but I had this little problem now with
the pick up Agent,I got an email from my agent that she won't come and
pick up unless i pay her the agent commission fee first in order to be
able to schedule a pick up time ,and my pick up agent head quarters
and all commission payments made for pick up from anywhere in the
world is sent to their head quarters and the only form of payment they
accept is western union money transfer and i tried to pay online but i
will need a credit card which i didn't bring along, so i want you to
help me with this little help,they charged to pick it up and take it
my son home with the sum of $1,200.00USD ,i will include the Agent fee
which is $1,200.00 USD with my purchasing price to the payment i will
send through PayPal. After i have made the payment and it has been
confirmed by PayPal, i will need you to help me send the $1,200.00USD
to my pick up agent through western union money transfer and i will
add additional $150.00USD for Western Union Charges.

The total amount am going to transfer now is $16,600
You will have the sum of $15,250 for the Purchase
You will help wire the sum of $1200 to my agent.
The remaining $150 will be use to cover the western union charges.

Kindly take off the ad from craigslist,I will love to read from you
before i proceed with the transfer now."

this is a scam. please turn him into ic3 from the fbi website. he tried scamming me from 2 phone numbers, and 3 emails. He sends fake paypal emails. he is based out of california.

I got the same thing and replied local only no paypal and they never responded. I think it is a scam.

This person wants to buy a camper we have listed on craigslist, he says he wants our PayPal address so he can send us money and the have the camper shipped to his father as a surprise gift, he can not come to our homes, says he is over seas.  I'm wondering if this is a spam or scam.
