I received a call from this number saying they were a legal department in NY.  The Sr Atty's name was Brian Smith and could BARELY speak English!   Saying they have my SS# and that I owe for an internet loan!  I ended up hanging up on them.

Who can we contact to stop this???!!!

Received call from Department of Law & Investigations; location Bronx, New York / attempted to give impression that they are some sort of law enforcement agents. As described before in other complaints; person of foreign accent / difficulty in understanding what they wanted.

they called stating i owed them money for a loan, i called him a f*** and hung up. he called me back 3 times so  my brother then called them back and ripped into them telling them to go back to there own country and if there going to scam people speak english so we can understand, my brother called them back 20 times finally they asked my brother to stop calling them.  this is a big huge scam.

Received threats of arrest and lawsuit over debts owed by someone else!!! these thugs refuse to give any info in writing,jjust scream that they will have you fired fromyour job and arrrested. They claim that someione you know owed a debt and used you as a reference, making you legally (bullbleep) responsible for their debt.  DO NOT LISTEN TO THESE THIEVES! If I can locate them , I fully intend to sue them back to the stone age under the Fair Debt Collection Act. They also claim to be LawEnforcement Officers , to impersonate an officer is a serious crime in every state. If you have anyinfo please forward it to the appropriate Attorney General, so that , hopefully, these creeps get "dragged off to jail" as they like to threaten others with.

We've been receiving these calls for the better part of a year now.  They've been calling my work also, claiming to be investigating a crime.  They use false names. If you get calls from these people that can barely speak English and tell you their name is Jim Smith or whatever, rest assured it's crap.  What I don't get is what they think they will accomplish.  They haven't asked for money or identifying information that I know of.  If there is a way to stop this I want to know what it is.
