This # called me several times.

I just got this call on Friday alerting me to go quickly to my computer etc. saying everything the others said. I had doubts and was tired from going to bed late and I asked to call them back. She gave me this number and I must say her English wasn't that good. As soon as I hung up, a guy calls me with the same info. I'm really suspecting something weird. He gives me the same phone number 647-288-3898.  I asked if I could speak to someone in French. I'M from the Montreal area. He says no. Then I figured that this was not Windows.

But get this folks. Two days before I get an immediate alert on my computer that I have a virus and infections 38 of them. Download Live Security Platinum and the logo is the same shape as Windows firewall. So I think this is my Microsoft Security Essentials that has detected all these viruses but can't clean it up. So Dumb me I buy the program and it downloaded itself so fast and cleaned out my Essentials.

I'm beginning to link all of this together and have cancelled my credit card. Has anyone had this happen to them before they got that call. Of course in the application I put my phone number.

Now I have to go to a Computer place and have my computer checked out.Call them and cancel my Anti-virus program and hope to get my moeny back as I did pay $4.95 Satisfaction guaranteed. I can't use it for security reasons and am working on another one.

Same thing here, in Gatineau too.
They called a few times. When I ask questions about who they are they either hang up or give the same info as others have had. They say they call from Windows services but not from microsoft?! Weird
The phone number they gave wasn't the same has the one that appeared on my caller ID. Unfortunately it's broken so I can't retrieve it! Area code is either from Djibouti (Africa) or somewhere around Tacoma/Seatle...
Don't allow them in your computer!

Hello, same thing in Gatineau. Received a call from a guy named Robert Goldsmith, from a company named Star PC repair in Toronto. It's a scam. Didn't allow him.

Hi, same thing in Montreal. I received a call from a gay saying the same, asking permission to go into my computer ti fix the problem. I didn`t allow him.
I`m not sure if it is a phone scam or not.
Does anyone have any information about this?

Same thing - Mark called about 'Windows'. At least that was the message I got. I wasn't home so someone else took the call. Date: Feb 2012 location: Victoria BC

Called and said they were from the Windows Service Centre and had received a report from the International infection database that my computer was inffected. My husband know nothing of computers and he let them walk him throught the process to take control of my computer and said I had been hacked 149 times. Mark Jamal Badge#0123006 - Supervisor John. 647-288-3898.  I threatened to call the police and advised that I would be calling Microsoft to confirm their "association" with them. He said they were an independent company and that I was understanding what he was saying.  I said if you are associted they will know that!  I intend to report them to the RCMP as a telphone scam.
