Answered the phone, Got disconnected right away!
I called back right away, no one answered but a  message is played back as follows:
"trying to connect to ur called party".....gets disconnected.

I have counted about 11 missed called from 647-495-9506 and have fortunately missed every call except for one. When you call the number the company is called Equinox. The person on the phone said they were calling on behalf of RBC and I said I was at work and couldn't speak to them and they said they would call back another time - I was able to yell into the phone number call back before they hung up. I also registered on their do not call list and on the government do not call list.

I'm going to try to answer any calls from them moving forward to give them a piece of my mind.
Telemarketers - go get real jobs.

I called royal bank about 647 495 9506 calling me.  Royal Bank stated that this is not one of their numbers that they would use to contact someone in Ontario and that this number is likely a scam.

If this number calls you, ask them not to contact you again and to take you off their call list.

How are they allowed to keep calling when our number is on the "do not call" list.

I wrote RBC today because of the call I received from Equinox. I did not care for the bully tone to the caller's voice.  I also believe that demanding I answer 'security questions' before confirming the nature of her call is very shady, to say the least.

Amazingly, a real RBC person called me a few minutes ago.  My discussion with them (very pleasant caller, actually)  ended with them saying they will remove me from their call list.  We'll see.....

Check your cell as there may be a function to block calls.

So I just got a call few mins ago and didn't answer as I left my cell on my desk.  I've been getting a call from this # but I hardly answer it as I don't know the #.  So how I Googled the # and it pointed me here.

I added the # to my address book and called it TELEMARKETER! So when I get a call again I will not answer it.

As much as I would like to call RBC and tell them not to give my # they will either "we will never give your information away, etc... " all that BS. or They will say its in one of the stuff you signed!

Call twice today. Once at 3:24pm and again about 8:45pm. No message left. Always a sure sign that they are hiding behind a telephone call.

I've been getting calls daily from them! It's starting to piss me right off!

These calls are from a telemarketer that is linked to RBC. I called RBC and there was a note that was added to my account to call for services I may be interested. I asked them to take me off of the list and to make sure I was on the Do Not Call list. This was done without any problem what so ever. The telemarketing calls should stop within a day or two. Hope this helps.

It's a company called www.alertservice.ca referred by RBC.  They are selling a credit monitoring service for $19.00 a month.

What a rip off.

received a call from 647-495-9506 yesterday. A woman asks for me by name. I hear a male voice in the background saying "is he there?". The guy gets on the phone and says thanks me for being with RBC and goes into trying to tell me that he selling a protection package for my credit cards, phones, tablets...etc...I tell him to go F*** Himself and not call again. I phone RBC and report the call and find out that they are not RBC reps...I ask "How the hell did he get my name and number ( It's unlisted ) and how did he known I was with RBC???? ".... RBC had no answer...Something is wrong here!!!!

The National Do Not Call List is a scam.  I know of countless people who registered, myself included, only to be bombarded with non stop tele-marketing calls soon there after.  It's to the point now where we just don't answer our phones to long distance calls.  I hope you have better luck with it than we did :(.

Someone from Aimia Proprietary Loyalty Canada Inc., on *behalf of* RBC. They are trying to get you to sign up for InfoProtector. It automatically is billed to your RBC credit card. Not a scam but they are telemarketing.

I work in a call centre and it is not odd for a large company (like RBC) to employ a call centre (like Equinox) to do all their calling for them. Did any of you bother to listen past "Thank you for calling Equinox..." ?

How do you register on their do not call list.

Called me around dinner time, claiming to be calling on behalf of RBC.
I did pick up my phone, and a woman answered be back after I said hello. "Hello, Brittany?"
Me: Speaking. A gentlemen then chimed in, going on and on about Equifax and how it can protect me against identity theft for $12.99 a month.
By the end when the gentlemen finished speaking, he requested I give him the correct spelling of my name to begin the process. Right so, you have my number... you have my name and are suppose to be with RBC but you don't know how to spell my name? Not only that, but when I asked if there's a way to do it online if I ever am interested he said, bluntly-- no. It's not released out into branches yet.. That's oddly suspicious.

A woman called about 2-3 months ago offering me a similar product also on behave of RBC which was $17.99 monthly...

I would think anyone calling on behalf of a company would be calling from a 1800 number instead of a 647 GTA cellphone area code, and would at least have a name registered to their number

At this point we've all figured out that Equinox marketing services is the culprit. Here is their Facebook page with 74 people i'm going to assume, work for them.

They've called me 14 times in the past week (twice a day, once before lunch, then again in the evening)....supposedly from RBC...told him to stop f***ing calling me a few times...going to try a new approach next time...have some fun with it lol

This number has been calling me since last week.  Today they've called 9 times !!!  They are mis-representing themselves as working for RBC.  After contacting RBC, I was told they have no knowledge of these people... They told me they worked for RBC and wanted to provide my credit score information from Equifax (a free service I'm already using).  Feel harassed and have joined the National Do Not Call List which is run by the Canadian government.

I've received numerous calls from this number at all times of the day and night and they never leave a message. So I'm doubting it's anything important or even legitimate. There's a free call blocker/phone cleaner app I downloaded for android called CM security. It allows you to block as many numbers as you want it seems and has worked the best for me so far. Good luck all!

They call every day. I usually ignore it. If I answer, I'll say hello twice then hang up. The reps are waiting for a pick-up, so this type of laziness bothers me.
