No carrier will call you to process this, and it is a rule to never give out your user credentials. this is a load of Fraud. I myself have never answered the phone call. But I do work for a cellphone carrier and this doesn't happen from anyone in store level or head office or customer service. If customer service does contact you all information would be on file, and it would be something that would have to be authorized by the account holder themselves. No credit card information, bank information should be ever shared with a 3rd party. That, and the carrier wouldnt call you to force you into an agreement. The call in centers are for what people in store cannot do. Or if time is of an issue, which would mean the customer would call in and request these sort of options. If you can't find the offer on Bell.com, or haven't heard it from a representative in person than it is false. People need to get lives and stop trying to commit fraud all the time. No wonder this world is crumbling.

PS I don't have any bell services... It would be funny why they would call me.

Got a call from "Sam" claiming to work for Bell. Even gave me Employee ID #. Offered Express Vue Satelitte package that is currently on internet with BELL but also offered in 2nd month $100.00 credit to account which would pay that bill and part off next. Also would get a gift voucher worth $50.00 that I was to fill in and attach to first bill and within 60 days a cheque for $50.00 would be sent payable to me at any bank. Only needed my credit card # of bank account # for a quick 10 Second verification.  Didn't have my bell account either. If true Bell then this info would be available to them. Called Bell themselves and they have never heard of $$$ offers. They do charge a security of $100.00 on first bill and then take it right off 2nd bill but according to "Sam" at fake Bell no costs to me whatsoever of security, install, or anything. They have now called seven (7) times and put other people on phone. Finally just hung up on them. NO WAY AM I GIVING BANKING INFO.

Oriental man called claiming his name is Jack Smith, said he was from Bell and because I pay my bills on time my name was chosen to receive promotion of free install of bell satellite and a reduced monthly service fee of $32. He had also said that I would receive a $50 rebate. When he was verifying my information he didn't know what my initials were for on my telephone listing. I asked for his number and said I'd call him back, I checked the number on google to discover other similar complaints.

Just received a call from 1-647-724-8790 offering me Highspeed internet ADSL connection - stated that it is in my area when we gave the location, but I'm sure we still do not have DSL in our area.  After this person started requesting credit card number(s), cheque account# and some other personal information - we hung up on them.  Bell already has this information, why would we give them this, when they can just add this service to our current bill?  Another scam - usually if Bell calls, their company name comes up on phone ID.

Call came this morning from "Miguel" asking for Brad. I began by asking what company he worked for. Sounds like "Miguel" hung up. I called back later from a different number. Spoke with "Miguel" again. He answered the phone, "Bell." I confirmed that he meant "Bell Canada" and said his number appeared on my call display. "Miguel" said he had misdialed. I told him that I was calling from a different number than the one he had called previously. "Miguel" said that was a misdial as well: he'd been using the wrong list, he said.

I asked "Miguel" if he worked for Bell, or for a 3rd party company contracted by Bell. He said it was a 3rd party company. I asked him three times to identify the company, and each time he said that it was against company policy to identify themselves. I am now awaiting a call from "Miguel's" supervisor, who was in an important meeting at the time of our discusssion.

I have attempted to report this incident to Bell Canada. At first I called, and Jay, the customer service agent, took my name address and phone number "to verify the call." He then put me on hold. When he came back, he said I needed to go on the website and report the incident in writing. Jay promised the report would be taken seriously. I did that and got an email from Cecil, who wrote that I need to phone in with my complaint. I wrote back to Cecil that I have already done that, as well as reported the incident to the CRTC. I got a canned response back from Cecil with details about how to register for the national Do Not Call List.

I received a call from Bell offering me a wonderful deal on satellite tv (60 channels, 15 HGTV, 8 movie channels no fees) for $29. He asked for my account information which I lied and said I did not have. He then transferred me to his manager to further assist me. This manager tried very persistently to get my account information off my cheque. I said I did not have one. He then asked if I had a card, like a Walmart prepaid card or credit card. I said no. He asked what bank I dealt with so he could match it to the information the Government gave him. Apparently the Government gave him my name and address and he needs my account number to verify and activate my account. I refused to give him this information. He asked me when I could give him my account information. At this point I hung up.

I will phone back and cancel my apparent appointment booked with them. When I called Bell in my City they did not have a record of an appointment.

a guy called me with an East Indian accent from Bell Canada and offered me wireless internet from Bell and I told him I have it from another satellite provder and that Bell did not work in my area since I live in the country...I told them I wanted to know more about the technology since I have spoken to Bell in the past and they do not have the service--he then said that tech support is sitting beside him and they can handle the call. We all know that tech support is not beside you etc...so then he puts a guy named Nick on and Nick does not know anything about the technology or what Bell provides. I told them I am not interested and hung up on them.  This is a scam and Bell needs to know about this.

Giot a call from this number yesterday afternoon - they did not leave a message. thanks to everyone else who have suffered through their calls - we are now listing this as "SPAMMER/SCAMMER" and they will not get through to us on this number. (Our system scans through all numbers that have been reported on this site, then checks our own database to see if we have added a spam designation. those designated as spammers are re-routed to a special out of service tone)

I live in rural BC.  A call came in yesterday from this number while I was a work.  My daughter answered and told the fellow (East Indian accent) to put us on the do not call list.  He was stand offish with her.  He later called back when I was home.  I usually cut telemarketers off cold but he caught my interest with this special deal.  My story is similar to the above.  After his sales pitch he wanted my credit card number.  I refused to give it to him.  He said no problem my bank account number will do.  I refused to give it to him.  The call then ended.  These guys are “phishing” for personal info for fraud and identity theft.  Be careful!

I kept saying "hello" when I answered the phone. There was a pause before a man answered stating he was from Bell Canada. Every time one of us spoke, there was a delay. When I asked the man where he was located, he said that he was in  Toronto. I told him that since the 647 area code was not from Toronto that he was lying and told him not to call back again and I hung up the phone receiver.

Just received a call from this number but no one spoke on the other end.  Not the first time this has happened.  My response to unsolicited telemarketers is "You have just broken the law.  I am on the "no call" list and you can be charged thousands of dollars for not respecting that law.  This usually stops the calls, but I do feel badly for scaring people who are working at this crap job and don't know the laws around this in Canada.

Hey Adult female, 647 is a Toronto area code.

I got a call tonight, some east indian lady who said she was calling on behalf of Bell Canada, who kept pausing and saying hello. I told her to finish her god damn sentences. She blabbed about my number being selected for a high speed internet deal. Then she asked me what internet service provider I was using. HELLO? If you're Bell, you would know that I have a one bill pkg. I asked her what company she was calling from, if she was calling behalf of Bell, what's the telemarketing agency she was calling from. Pauses and faked up static sounding noises. I asked if she worked for ICT Group, SP Data or Contacts Cse. No response. Then I told her that I actually worked for the CRTC and told her goodbye and hung up.

I have been receiving calls from this number for at least 1 or 2 years.  No one is ever there.  I just found that the area code 647 is registered in South Central Ontario (416).  Now I learn it's BELL!!!
I had a new unlisted number activated today at 11:30AM to be exact - within 20 minutes this number has called again and hung up.  Twenty Minutes later it tried again.  WELL it all makes sense now!  COGECO here I come! Bye, Bye Bell!

Received a call from this number today, January 9, 2010. Was told that my number was picked for a free $300.00 phone from SOLO. As well as other perks-no contract, free nights, etc. At end of pitch was actually asked for my SIN number, I laughed and refused, then it was a credit card, I laughed and hung up.

It would be nice if the CRTC, BELL, "phone busters" the banks and whoever else took these illegal representations seriously but unfortunately they don't. They are "big business industry scammers" and as long as CRTC continues to allow them to rip us off and they are still making their huge! profits it's o.k. with everyone. I makes me want to puke! Remember Industry just like these scammers doesn't have a conscience and they unfortunately really don't care, they just won't tell you that. Until we take our heads out of the sand by fighting big industry and our governments nothing will change for the better in this world.
