Just got a call from this number. Guy on the other end said his name was Sam asking me about my mortgage. I told him that that was funny seeing as I don't have a mortgage!! I then told him to lose my number and not call it back. He them told me I was cute.....at which time I told him to F*** off and hung up the phone!!

I have been receiving calls from 1-648-571-2459.  As it's a number that I do not recognize, I never answer it....they don't leave messages, but just call back later.

I just got a call from this #.  It was an east Indian lady asking about our mortgage and said they we. Luke save $1000/year if we are approved. I said thanks for caring, not Interested and see yah later

some guy with a very very thick south asian accent.  Eventually figured out he was saying "you have a mortgage on your property?"  Soon as I said no the line went dead.  It was my cellphone, not landline.

I just saw this number come up on my cell phone; did not answer and no message was left. Not the first time I have seen the number, so I will definitely not answer if it comes up again!

Got a call from this number,male asked if I had a mortgage,I said no.I was then asked if I any unsecured debt,I answered no,the person said have a nice day and hung up.

My wife received a call today from this number and he asked if we had a mortgage. She responded "Why in the world would I discuss my mortgage with you" He did not give a name or firm affiliation, quite forceful and rude. He hung up as he know there was no SUCKER here to bite.

Further to my last note, there is also *77 which is apparently ANONYMOUS CALL REJECTION. Again, after last call received, dial *77.  To disable this Bell feature, dial *87.

a solution: -  hang up and then dial *57. This is "CALL TRACE" for Bell Canada. They keep track of further calls and (apparently) forward the information to the police.

Got a call from 1-648-571-2459 this evening ... a person named SAM answered me after I yelled HELLO five times into the phone, and asked me if I had a mortgage and any debt I wanted to consolidate... he stated he was from Debt Consolidation.  Told him I had no debt and to take my number of their list and not to call my house again.  ANNOYING.

I received a call asking if I had mortgage insurance. After asking from where does he know if I have or don't have insurance and asking him for his location he hung up. I asked if he is in Toronto and he said yes. His English could hardly be understood. I guess he is just another scammer.

I've been getting strange calls for the last 5 days . They even call me in weird hours (like 1,3,5am!! I had to mute the phone so I could sleep!). I called 911, and just as Lua, they advised me to keep a journal and file a report. But my caller ID could only recorgnize a number number this morning (last time I received a call: 6:20am).

They never say anything. On the first day, I could hear background noise, so I thought it was just someone calling from abroad. But then, an "unknown caller" kept calling all day (every 20 minutes or so), saying nothing and hanging up after less than 30 seconds. Only today my ID showed this 648 number.

Got a call today. Several seconds of silence, then musack for a bit, then call transferred to live person. He asked how I was. Tough to understand him but asked if I had a mortgage. I told him no and then he wanted to know if I had any other debts. Told him no and then created a feedback loop (loud squeal) with the phone and hung up

Just received a call from this number, 647 571 2459. He introduced his name as Sam (indian person) and started rambling on.  I then responded as if I knew him(Sam) and started asking him how he was doing, and how him mother was, etc...  He (Sam) didn't like that very much and responded that he would f*** my a** and f*** my mother, etc... I immediately hung up.  He then called back saying that he would f*** my world and he knows where I live, etc...  I called 911... waiting for a call back from an officer.  Not like the police can do anything but we really need to do something about this. That was scary and I may not be able to sleep well tonight.  I guess I will report it to the FTC, (Federal Trade Commision) 888 382-1222, but who are they and what can they do?  Trust me, if it was a HIGH priority, they would find out who this is and very fast.

I just received a call from this number too (I'm in Pickering, ON), but didn't recognize the area code, I so didn't answer -- then glad that I looked up the number on here! :)

Received a call from this number here in Sarnia Ontario while I was out this afternoon. There was no message left.

I hate to miss important calls so it is reassuring to look up the number here and find that it is bogus. Thanks all.

Have been receiving calls from this number for the past couple of weeks, they come in about two to three times a day. I've had enough. I've added call privacy (which cannot block this non-existant number) and the police to file a report. I was told to keep a journal by the phone and document every time the call comes in. If the call is answered, the journal should contain the date, time, and nature of the call (for me it started with a south asian man advocating a computer anti-virus software, and now has become a machine playing music). If the calls become more invasive this should be included as well. Especially in Canada (where I'm from) it's difficult for the police to simply obtain a warrant into looking into the location of where the calls are localized, from the phone companies...THEY NEED EVIDENCE, SO A JOURNAL IS NECESSARY IF THIS IS AN FAVOURED OPTION!!!!!!! With a journal, they can more easily obtain a warrant to then go to the phone companies to trace the number. I've started my journal, and by the sounds of this (and several other message boards) this number (and its associates) is becoming a bit of a global concern. DO NOT ANSWER THESE CALLS!
All I want is to simply return to a peaceful state of mind when a long distance number comes in....now I'm sitting here wondering if it's my relatives overseas, or these manipulating irritants. Good luck to all of you dealing with this issue.

Just got a call from "DCO"????  Couldn't understand him.  Asked if I had a mortgage and I said no.  He then said, "You have a mortgage."  I said no again.  Obviously doesn't understand English.  Told him I was on the Do Not Call list and to remove my number from their system.

Got a call a couple of days in a row... said hello & got no response so I do what I always do when I do not want someone to call back...  hold the phone by the ear piece and bang the mic against a hard surface a few times HARD!  Usually works :)  Learned that from a Hospital Operator who I worked with many years ago.  They do not usually ask their supervisor to take my number of the calling list they just do!   this may be a Magic Jack # or Skype type of number!
Maybe looking for who is home for not very nice reasons!

these are all calls coming from the internet calling methods asking for anyone, selling air duct cleaning or mortagages.  They do not listen and continually call!  There is no way to stop them as these numbers can not be called back and are coming through dialed internet calls

Someone called me from this number and said it was concerning my mortgage! He didn't even know whom he was speaking with. Jack***!

Tried calling this number back.  No good.  Supposedly from a company called Optimisepc4u. They originally contacted me telling me they have received a notice from either Microsoft or HP, etc. saying I was having trouble with my computer.  They offered to clean up my computer and for $199.00 I could purchase a contract with them to continue to keep my computer free from malware, etc. The person I spoke to had a heavy accent even though he gave me an English name.  Tried calling the number back and it was not a valid number.  Can only access their wweb site,???, but using the www. _________.  However, I could not find the company any other way when I searched for it.  Their e-mail does apparently not exist either.  And when you call the toll free number, the same person I spoke to answered.  There are mispelled words on their web site,???.  They wanted payment throught PayPal or WesternUnion and it was to be made to a person not the company.  I smelled Fraud, Scam.
