Guy called asking for my boss. I asked who was calling and he said his name was Vernon something. Couldn't understand the last part because he had a heavy Indian accent. Said he was an assistant to someone (again couldn't understand) and was with Eccentric something. Asked him to leave a number so my boss could call him back and he said he would call back. Good luck. He's hardly in the office!

Several calls to my cell phone without leaving a message.  I eventually picked up and after a long, long pause I was connected to a sales guy from a company called Connect and Sell (http://connectandsell.com/).  B2B Telemarketer.

also calling me at work.  also not leaving messages.

I keep receiving calls from this number but they do not leave voicemail.

I didn't answer the call.

Called and hung up

I answered.  Some guy w/ a thick "Indian" accent.  Had my name right, but asked if I was w/ Valencia motors or something like that.  I told him I never heard of it.  He then said he must have the wrong information and hung up.

I just updated my resume on careerbuilder.com and immediately started receiving calls from three different California exchanges:

I don't pick up any numbers I don't recognize, and they never leave a message.  I'm assuming it is some sort of scam, and I may just pick up next time for the entertainment value.  It would be nice if careerbuilder.com put some sort of security meassure in place so people don't have to screen their calls!  I may just take my resume down from that site.

Have received several of these calls, caller ID says 'Unavailable', so i do not answer. They never leave a message...

Caller asked for Dave which happens to be my name, when I said 'Yes' he hung up.  My guess is the name they ask for is random, just any common name.

very odd, agreed, the guy confessed to it being his second day on the job.  He was not authorized to disclose the nature of the call, so we went back and forth like a bunch of idiots.  He said his name was "John Miller".  Hope he is being paid by the hour, don't mind funnin' with them, almost comical really.

if he calls back I'll think of something clever and bizarre . . . .

Got a call from 650-645-1493 at work. No message was left.

Received a call from 415.983.3942 a few hours ago asking for a guy that hasn't worked with us for 6 months. Told the guy this, and he politely ended the call.  Now I get the same call again from this number, asking for the same guy. This time he just said "ok" and hung up.  The first call the guy sounded Indian, but this time I couldn't hear an accent- sounded like a typical american dude who can't get a better job than sitting on his butt in a call center, lol.
Wonder how many times they're going to call asking for the same guy. They haven't asked to speak to anyone else yet. If they do, I'll ask to take a message and see if I can get any info out of them.

That's exactly what happened to me!  guy called 4 different times, for 4 different people in my office, and every time I asked him why he was calling, he couldn't tell me and hung up.

A man called w/a very heavy accent and wanting to talk to my boss.  Asked him what he wanted.  Said he was calling on behalf of someone else and didn't know.  Told him I can't let him talk to my boss then.  He said he would have to get permission and call me back.  I then hung up on him while he was explaining that he has to get permission.
