Debt Collector
I have delt with Jay on many occasions, it is a collection agency for medical(as far as i know) and they usually dont leave messages when they call. Jay is a great guy actually and really helpful if you are respectful to him. If you call and agree to a payment arangement then they have the right to take it(with out judgment). I have delt with him for many years as I was cleaning up my credit. If bills are owed, they need to be paid..its not like ppl dont get a million notices from the agencies.

My mother gets a phone call from him daily about her medical bills, but he was very specific about what was her bill on and said my mother requested for this which I asked her and she said yes. Reading this stuff made me second guess that I shouldn't have give him the information, but she did say this is her last medical bill from the hospital.

Aaron nice fake post from AA&A you are full of s***.  You are probably Jay yourself trying to coax people who are broke and out of work to take food out of their or their kids mouths so you can get a commission.  What an idiot I have never talked to a debt collector who wasn't rude and condescending.

So, reading what some of you left in these posts almost made me not accept my responsibility for my debt and not return the phone call from AA&A.  I'm actually kind of ashamed of some of you.  Where did your parents go wrong?
For what it is worth, here is  my experience with all this.  Yes, it is a debt collection company called American Accounts and Advisers (AA&A).  Yes, I received two phone calls from Jay.  Yes, based on the tone of the message I thought holy crap what a dick.  My mistake.  I could not have been more wrong.  I took a nice attitude into it and he was a very nice person to deal with.  He apologized for having to call me at home.  He thanked me five or six times for returning his call. He helped me with account numbers and who to contact regarding the debt I owe from the original business.  In my case, the clinic here in town.  Oh but wait, there's one little piece of information I haven't given yet; I called with a plan to pay back my debt. $15 bucks a month was all it took.

Unlike others I had a good experience.  Best of luck to all of you who have legitimate reasons.  For the rest I hope karma bites you in the a**.

My neighbor rcvd a p/cll from this number, caller ID said A A & A, an employee named "Vance" was talking to my neighbor about a past due medical bill. My neighbor is hard of hearing and has the volume on his phone set high, I could clearly hear the conversation 6 feet away. My neighbor disbuted the bill 3 times & "V" told him they were already taking $200 a week from his checking account, clearly a lie as it would require judicial action (Judgment) and legal service would have been done prior. If this was true a collection agency wouldn't be needed. When I told my neighbor to tell "Vance" to tell him he was disputing the claim, "V" told him "I should shut up & I didn't know what I was talking about". I will now be assisting my neighbor in finding a good lawyer, how to contact the MN AG's office and how to help "V" to look for a new job for violating state & federal laws. How would I know this, been in government collections for almost 20 years.

This is a collection agency whom I don't know anything about.  He has been calling asking for my daughter (maybe), calling on the house phone.  I don't really understand how he got our unlisted phone number but when we would not answer him on the house phone he started calling on our cell phones. He called us just a few minutes ago on my husbands cell phone stating that I had just called them and he needed me to return his call.  When I talked to him, he said that he needed to speak to Jim but quess what(?) no Jim here.  He pretty much called me a lair when I told him that I did not know a Jim and that I did not just call him.  He hung up but I don't think that will be the end of him.

Our daughter is in the same position that most of the others on this page are in.  She hasn't working for some time now and doesn't know when she will be able to.  When the harassment started she was having treatment for breast cancer on top of not having a job.  I have told them over and over again that I would not give them any information about her and they told me that I have to. I told them that I don't think so as they are not suppose to be contacting me in the first place.  I do not owe them any money, so they have noreason to call me.  If they want to contact her it is their responsibilty to locate her.  I don't have to do their work for them.  I also told them that by law I could not give them any personal information about her or her whereabouts.

I hope that things work out for all of you.  There should be somehow to block their phone number as they sure can block their phone number from anyone who they don't want contacting them.  I am thinking about telling them that I am recording all of the phone calls that we receive from them and filling a harassment suit since they have no reason to call me.  They have been calling 3 to 4 times a day and we are getting sick of it.

GOOD LUCK TO ALL OF YOU.

Just got a call from this number, have seen it on caller id before, but no one was ever there when I answered. Wanted my husband, was very rude, my husband called back and the same thing he wouldn't tell him who he was. I can guarantee this was not a correct collection call, he has a squeeky clean 780 credit report. Very odd.

This number has been calling me lately, but when I called back on a Sunday morning, the voice message that was saved on there was not any debt collection agency name. It's some guy trying to harass you for your money.

This idiot, Jay, calls incessantly. I never pick up the phone from any of his numbers, including AA and A on my caller ID. Doesn't he get it? I am broke, out of work, and I'm in no position to pay. Besides, these people buy bad debt for two cents on the dollar, so his company probably paid two bucks for my $100 outstanding bill. Why doesn't he go after the 2% of the wealthy? After all, we've given them all the money in this country, leaving the rest of us out here struggling to stay alive. Get a real job, JayJay.

Got the same calls, dude is rude-type of collection agent who thinks that they can intimidate us to pay.  But when you are unemployed, what can you do... FILE BANKRUPTCY.  This is the wrong way to collect a debt.  Work with the debtor, be polite and reduce the amount due.  Wake up and smell the economy, IT STINKS.

Got a call on my voicemail today that said, "This is Jay. Please call me back at 651-287-6130."

I don't know any Jay, and I have no idea why he's calling my house, but I don't like the sound of it after reading what everyone else here said about him.

Received a very rude 'collections' call from this guy.  Never been late on a bill in my life.
Claimed he was with american accounts, here's the info i found, when i called the company main number JAY answered:
American Accounts and Advisors Inc.

Private Company, Headquarters Location
3904 Cedarvale Dr., Saint Paul, MN, United States
(651)405-9760, (651)405-9846 fax,
Primary SIC: Adjustment & Collection Services, Primary NAICS: Collection Agencies
Description: Services: Collection agency

I looked them up on BBB.org and Mr. Bryan McGroarty is the complaint contact person for this company and should be contacted at (651) 405-9160.

I called this number and got a voicemail of someone from a different name.  Complained and explained i'll be complaining to the BBB/police if i don't hear back.

This all seems very fishy, i'll update when i hear back or get more calls...

He is a collection rep, and claims that there is no such law stating that he has to give information when asked. When I brought up the law, he claimed he had a collection of these laws before him and no law states that he must give his information. The odd thing is, he didn't seem like any collection rep that I've talked to in the past.

I also just received a call from this number, Jay Dougles was the name of the gentleman's name, and I use that term loosely.  He wouldn?t tell me the nature of the call until I said I was who he was looking for, didn?t sound like a collections call, except the fact he needed the phone number he was trying to contact to look up the information.  Any more info on who the heck this guy is let me know.

GOT TWO VOICE MAIL MESSAGES FROM JAY SAID HE had information or needed some follow up information, reciently had a computer stolen so I was not giving out my info. I called back and jay answered. I asked if he was with a collection agency he said he could not tell me unless I gave my name first. The law in Minnesota says you gotta tell if asked who you are with. he refused to say and he disconnected the call.

I am researching more on this number and will reply later.
