I am a credit counselor licensed in Minnesota. So, this wrong number could be a blessing for you. All you have to do is call them up and tell them to stop calling you. If it is in a state that allows you to tape them without the collector knowing it that is even better. Otherwise keep good notes. You are a Third Party. According to the FDCPA they can only call you once and then they have to stop. So you call them and tell them not to call you again. One more phone call from them and you can sue them for $1000. If its a cell phone and they are robo dialing your number with automated messages--each one of those is a $500 violation EVERY TIME THEY DO IT! I sued on myself for a wrong number. I told the lady not to call me back again because I wasn't the person she was looking for, she said that it would take 24 hours. I said no it won't, she said yes it would and hung up. An hour later she called back. The next Friday I filed a lawsuit and 3 weeks later they settled for $4000. Not bad for a wrong number!! You need to contact a consumer rights attorney in your area. They take the cases on a contingency basis so it won't cost you a dime. You won't even have to go to court! So take off the call blocker and make yourself some money off of these jerks who keep calling you!! Good luck! Sharon
Tired of these calls
I have people calling me, for a person with the same name, who used to live in my town, now they google the guy's name and my info comes up, and once you square it with one of these scum bags, they sell it to another, and it just goes on and on. I not only get phone calls for this guy, I also receive his bills in the mail, to include his child support invoices, collection agencies, and even correspondence from the IRS. However, its the phone calls that bother me the most, they call at all hours of the day and night.
I have found the answer to all these annoying calls, it's called the Call Blocker, and it works great. I was looking for the solution to these phone calls, for years, and this is the best solution I have found yet. I bought mine on ebay, and it works like a champ.
Here is a link with the description for the Call Blocker.
No, I don't sell them, or have any affiliation with them; I just know this thing works.
This is a debt collection company...very rude....very high pressure. I have no problem paying bills if I am treated properly. If you treat me poorly you get the worst of me!
Called back and the lady said she worked for "Convergent Outsourcing".

Got a call. Answered and a recorded voice said "sorry for the inconvenience" and hung up.
