why do i get people calling from on caller ID twin cities MN like the tupperware lady and the school district? do not understand why it doesnt display them on caller ID?

we've had two calls from same # 6515554444. first one on 5/11/09. answered and some guy said Hi My name is Jim and I'm a Gulf War Vet. sounded like a real person but most likely recording. hung up. second call was 5/29/09. didn't answer and no message left. i have reported this # on donotcall annoyance section. i also called and spoke to someone with the phone company who checked six ways from sunday and could find absolutely no listing for this number. she too thought it strange w/a 555 call exchange.

word to the wise: do not answer if you don't know who the caller is or recognize the number.

Got a call from 651-555-4444.  It was obviously spoofed, because the 555 prefix in ANY area code is set aside for directory assistance -- with one exception:  700-555-4141 will give you a message telling you who your long distance company is.

Of course, this is "legacy" information, but if you go to telcodata.us, and look up ANY area code with 555 as the prefix, it will show that it doesn't exist at any particular phone company switching center

Now I see a loy of movies and in all the movies the number 555 is used.. I thought it was strange to see this pop up on caller ID.. I'm no fool.. I never did pick pick up the phone.. Don't know the number don't pick it up

I have received repeated calls from this number.  No message is ever left.  I have never answered the calls.

Get repeated calls from this number.  I do not answer them.  Am on National Do Not Call List, but it doesn't seem to matter.  Have a cousin who lives nearby who also gets repeated calls at both her home and cell phone from this number.

I mean it was a FAKE Disabled Vets.

I recived a scam phone call... I am pretty sure it was target. If I had a lawer I would sue.

Calls about once a week. They never leave a message. How are telemarketers able to block their numbers??!

I just checked with the Disabled Vets of MN and the Paralyzed Vets of MN and this is not a program run by either of them.

This numbers always on my caller ID, finally answered and it's a recording. It's from a vet named Jim and there is a whole story about ziplock baggies and garbage bags, you can press 1 to have them call you back or press 8 to be removed from list. We'll see if I actually get removed from the list.

Had many calls from this number, but usually didn't answer. Finally answered to tell them not to call again. It was the recorded message as noted above. Listened to the whole message (about 20 or 30 seconds), then it said to press '1' for more information or to press '8' to not receive any more calls from this number. Pressed '8', of course. Yes!!!!!

Got the call, but no one on the other end.  Funny thing is, when I answered the phone at my ARMY RESERVE UNIT (of all places) it hung up. Kind of ironic to call an Army Reserve Unit for donation.. HA HA.

June 8, 2009....got a call from 651-555-4444. Caller ID said "Twin Cities Minn"....I didn't answer....they left no msg.

I thought it looked like a fake phone number, but it also appeared to be a a local cell phone number for St Paul, MN so I answered it anyway to see who it was. It was a recording stating "Hi my name is Jim and I am a disabled golfer and ....". I hung up at that point and did not listen to the rest of message.

Caller ID said it was Directory assistance MN, so I answered.  It was a disabled vet call but was an automatic call, since I couldn't get the person to talk to me...hung up.

Answered just to see who it could be. Recording "Hi my name is Jim and I am a disabled vet and I want you to give me money". Hung up without hearing rest of message.

Same as for others.  We also have caller ID with blocking.  This number has showed up several times in the past month or so, and no message has been left.  Thanks to 1695814 for the information.

The number looks awfully suspicious    I don't know there is a 555 prefix in the St. Paul, MN area.  Therefore I didn't answer
