My 83 year old mom got a similar call from "Eric Watson" today, 6/20/14.  She was paniced and spent an hour with on the phone with him while he directed her to a website to show her all the error messages she had on her computer.  She finally got him off the phone and called me to ask what she should do.  Fortunately, she didn't give them a credit card number.  I did a reverse lookup for the phone number he gave her and found it was from Tehachapi, CA.  I live on the east coast and she lives out west, but I did make some calls to the Tehachapi, CA police department and to mom's local police department. This BS must stop.

There is nothing wrong with your computer at all. The only persons who should be touching your computer is you, your manufacturer, Real Windows support that you have called and/or maybe a real live tech you see face to face!

Same as above.  Ryan called at 9:00 pm to a home that doesn't even have a computer.  I knew this was a scam, so I listened to him and took his name and number.  It was definitely a "call center" arrangement as I heard others talking in the background.

Definite scam of some sort.  I just got a call from a guy calling himself Sam Parker with a thick Indian accent.  Amost 10:00 at night when they called.  He told me my Windows operating PC had been hacked or had malware or a nasty virus that was sending out bad messages to others and they were doing me a favor and calling from the Windows Operating System support center and were going to help me fix my computer before it caused my hard drive to crash.  He wanted me to urgently turn on my computer so he could "show me before my eyes" what wrong with my computer.  I asked for a phone number and he gave me 661-771-6568 and when I pressed him for a Microsoft trouble ticket number for me to reference he told me I could go F--- myself and hung up.

I hope someone shuts them down before their scam gains any ground.

I got a call last night from a guy calling himself Martin Parker--Indian accent. Said my computer had several dangerous viruses-he said he knew my account number because he was with windows. I didn't believe him. He gave me to his manager, Mike Williams. They gave me a phone number to call back and they answered that it was Microsoft Support and it was Stephen Parker who answered the phone. Another Parker. I didn't believe him but kept letting myself get sucked in-they started asking personal and financial information. I was getting panicky, hung. I called my real computer support system and they had me turn everything off, wait and turn it back on. They they checked everything and put McAfee back on. Mike had taken it off of my computer before I got off. - My real computer support is watching everything. My bank knows, etc. There is a fraud alert out for my case. I should have trusted my gut. ---Mike called back this morning like nothing had happened. I told him I was leaving and would call him back later. Now I'm doing what needs to be done.

Telemarketer
My caller was very insistent. Her name was Rachel, and worked for "Windows Support Center" she was claiming that I had many viruses on my machine, and that if I didn't do what they said my machine would stop working within 3 hrs. She read the license of my Windows Install to seem more legitimate. She wanted me to install a program which would allow them to remote in and have access to my machine so they could remedy the issue. To try and point out the errors my machine was having she pointed to me where Windows logs errors. My Windows did have about 24,000 errors but the logs didn't really read anything out of the ordinary. Anyway I refused to give them access to my machine, it's a day later and everything seems fine. I did hang up on them because they were very persistent, in telling me that I needed to do what they were saying, and that they were just trying to help me. I did receive a call back immediately which I ignored.

He wasn't very friendly and didn't like that I was asking him questions to verify who he was and rambled his spill SO FAST.  He just kept saying i need you to go to your computer and do what I say.  I told him I couldn't so I could get off phone.  I asked his number so I could check him out.  I searched online and saw many others were getting the same thing

9/22/13 I was told my computer had a problem and almost hung up because I thought it was not legit as I don't have a problem. Instead I asked what kind of computer I had and he correctly identified it. When I asked how he knew that he now said he was calling from Apple. I asked why he didn't say that in the first place? He said he thought he had, so I asked what he wanted.  He told me to turn on my computer. It was on sitting next to me but I still didn't believe him, so said I'd call him back and  asked his name and number. He said Michael and gave the phone number above. His voice was soft and he had an Indian accent. I called Apple and tried to report it. Nice person took info but prob not the right one to report this to.

Just received called from Indian fellow who said his name is Eric Watson. He wishes that guy is rich, I just googled him! So this other "Eric Watson" (name more like Punjat or Kalesh) who called me had a bad attitude when I did not want to talk to him. Phone number came up as Private Caller. I dismissed him rather quickly.

Call at 945 pm from "Jerry" a tech from Windows Service Center with a very thick Indian accent claiming that the internation routing system picked up my computer downloading viruses. Kept saying "listen I'm trying to help you and I can prove what I am saying".  Anyone saying they can "prove" anything set me on edge. Asked to speak to a supervisor who also had a very thick Indian accent. Her name was "Alisha". Told me the same thing and "that she I don't have to believe what her stupid mouth said that she can show me". Got the phone number and quickly googled it and came here. Told her that I would call back.  Posted this on Facebook to warn my friends and plan on posting to Microsoft and contact the news.

Just got the same call from "Eric Watson" with a heavy accent, saying the same thing except he was from Washington D.C and was with Micro-Soft.  I knew 661 was a California number, told him I would have to call him back, and reported it to our police department and someone in charge of our senior community.  Our niece is with the State Department in D.C. and I knew that was not their area code it turns out to be someone from Talecapi ? Ca.

Caller with Indian accent said he was from Windows Service Ctr and got a report from satellite that my computer was hacked. Told me he wanted to help me. I asked if he was from Microsoft several times and he would not say that. His number was 661-771-6568 but the call came in as an unknown caller. Gave me 2 names after I asked many questions I think he got flustered - Ryan Willson and Ryan Williams. Do not give them any info. This is a scam.

Got a call from some man with an Indian accent insisting he was from Microsoft Windows and my computer would crash in 2-4 hours if I did not follow his instructions. He told me he would show me the viruses in my computer and tell me exactly what to do. I did not trust him and told him so. He insisted he was only trying to help. I asked him his name which he told me was Jake Smith. Yeah right! He told me to call back at this number and he would allow me to talk to his manager. I told him I will call back but never did. Had scam written all over it.

Be on the look out for a scam of some type. Received a call on my cell phone saying I was hacked and to go to the computer and turn it on so they coulds fix it.  Said I was not near my computer and would call them back.   Said his name was Ryan and gave me 661-771-6568 as the phone number.  Says he was from Windows-DON'T GIVE THEY ANY INFORMATION.  IF THIS WAS WINDOWS THEY WOULD NOT CALL ON PHONE......THEY WOULD SEND YOU AN EMAIL.  IT WOULD BE ON THE NEWS AS WELL.  I wonder how they got my cell number as I never really use phone except to call out which is rare.
