I received the same call today, exactly as described above.  She said the name of the company was Office Pro.  They have a website, and this is what the first banner on the site says:

officePRO is located in Northeast Mississippi and serves the area surrounding Corinth, MS only.  If you have received a rude or inappropriate telemarketing call, please be assured it did not come from our company.  At this time officePRO does NOT carry out any telemarketing calls to customers outside of North Mississippi/Southwest Tennessee.  If you have the originating phone number, please report any such calls to your state attroney general as potential credit card or other fraud.

I will be looking into how to report the number as a scam.

I also received this same call, but from a woman.  Caller id showed "Wireless Caller" and 661-816-2775. She claimed to be representing an office supply company that was opening over 100 new locations in the area.  She also stated our company had won a Walmart gift card in the amount of $25 but in order to activate it I had to place an order with her that day and all she needed was my address and credit card number.  YEAH RIGHT!  I proceeded to tell her I had already ordered my supplies for the week and didn't need anything...you guessed it, she hung up on me.  A week later she called me back!!!!  She gave me the same BS and when she was done I proceeded to tell her that she had called me last week and hung up on me.  She sputtered trying to find something to say and then I hung up on her.  This is scarey because someone will fall for it, give her a company credit card with a huge limit and off she will go spending to heart's content.

Typical fraudulent cold caller.  Claims to be representing an office supply company you've never heard of before.  Wants to send a catalog and a $25 gift card from Wal-Mart (probably stolen).  What's really funny is that he claimed that his company (something like Office Warehouse) is the fastest growing retailer for office supplies in the country and they are getting ready to open their, get this, 100th location in your area!  Wow, 100th?  That must have the Staples and Office Depots shaking in their boots!  He wanted to confirm the spelling on my name (first name mind you) for the gift card and that's where I shut him down.  Since I purchase for a bank, we can't accept personal gifts for purchasing from someone (fits under bribery).  As soon as I said that I couldn't accept the card, what do you know, the line goes dead!  I didn't even get the chance to tell him that I live in a very small community, and if a new office supply store were on the way, I would have heard about it through various reliable news sources long before it would be "about to open".  These guys are oviously up to something.  Basic rule of purchasing applies here quite well- don't give any information or money to a company you've never heard of.  If they are legitimate they will have a catalog, or a website, or some other way of proving it.  Cold call sales are usually fraudulent these days, it seems.
