got a call from them about a loan i didn't pay back.  made arrangement with them they had me talk with a customer service person from the actual company.  thought it was legit and they took out money from my account.  the company sent me to collection agency.  there saying that they never received a payment from them.  tried to call the number another person got the number 678-5480261

My brother received a call today from a Ms. Branson from phone #678-245-4406.  She informed him that she needed to speak to me concerning a summons and that she needed to speak to me today "or else".  First, if this was not spam, she could not, under the penalty of law, speak to anyone concerning any of my affairs unless I have authorized her to do so.  In addition, this is a scam and they are trying to get me to send them money for something that isn't mine.  I spoke with Ms. Branson probably about 6-8 months ago with the same information.  I informed her that if I did owe money that she should send me something in writing outlining who the original creditor was and the exact amount of what was owed.  I was scammed before due to these calls and I want it to stop.  Especially since they are calling my brother, harassing him and providing him with private information.  Brother or not, he was not authorized to speak to anyone on my behalf.

Below is the transcript of the message that I just submitted to Staley, Lawhorn & Lebowski via their web form:
"I spoke with Ms. Lauren Harper today and mentioned that I had not received the validation letter requested via telephone. She refused to provide me a mailing address but I conducted a web search based on the phonetics of her pronounciation of the company that she worked for. I mailed a M.O. payment directly to the original creditor, who she says has not notified your firm. Her reponse was: "We're not validating because we're not collecting." Then I asked, "If you are not collecting why are you still calling." Her response was to hang up."

Got a phone call at my job this morning from a Lauren Harper. Gave 678-245-4414 as a call back number. Said she was with Staley Lawhorn. She was actually quite friendly, but I am sure that is because I agreed to call back after I was off of work. I asked if there was a way I could receive my "debt" information and she said that she could not send by mail because it was a means for me to stall payment but she would be willing to fax or emial. Only problem is if she doesnt already have that info I am not going to give it out. Last year I was receiving the threats of arrest and these people harrased my entire family. I had to have a family friend that was an attorney deal with them and the phone calls stopped. But now they are back at it. These people are a total scam. and even if you pay the debt you will not be removed from their calling list. Tell them you know they are a scam and wasting their time with you. Dont answer the calls if possible.

Got a call from them today. Similar threat - call by 4:30pm or the attorneys are going to court (previous poster is right - landline in GA means no jurisdiction for them to file anything in court - phone number not registered to any law firm means they are debt colectors breaking the law and subject to stiff penalties. Must consider legal action if calls continues.

they said she was a detective from the lawfirm of Bailing and i need to get in touch with her in 24 hrs or else. i called the number back and it never said the lawfirm of Bailing it just said her name which was Bailing too. i have had so many scam artists in the past year, it might be time to change phone number and only give to the one i know.SO FAR I NOTICE ITS COMING FROM GEORGIA, FROM A LAND LINE.
