Debt Collector
This Mr. Jackson has called my job numerous times and two days ago he stated that my bank and a payday loan company are filing some kind of online theft charges against me. I don?t even think there is such a criminal charge. Tells me to call them within 48 hours.  Called again today and leaves a message stating that my bank verified the wire to the payday loan company and that am facing criminal charges. I knwo dern well the bank is not releasing that kind of information without my authorization. Said he was forwarding today to the police department to come to my job, and that I had 24 hours to call to make arrangements, but then said he is forwarding the file no matter what. He is a hypocrite and an idiot. I don?t fall for scare tactics, but boy do I want to give him a piece of my mind!

yea ive been getting calls from "mr.jackson" for the past 3 weeks, hes call my job multiple times and my cell phone multiple times a day!!. he is very rude and will not allow you to speak. ive asked to speak with supervisors or managers and he always refuses and hangs up, he even told me i have 30 min. to call back with a credit card or else he will submit my paperwork into my local county police dept. now i do have a payday loan open and am doing everything i can get pay it off, but this is ridiculous, he left me a message saying he called my bank and they told him i have been getting paid every week, and i dont know if i believe this cause my bank wouldn't give my info out like that unless they called and impersonate me because they do have all my info (ss number, name, address, etc.) so i know for a fact my rights have been violated and i dont know what to do , i only took this loan out to purchase books for school and "mr.jackson" accuses me of defrauding a company.

Well my husband got the same call from a so called Mr. Jackson at work claiming the same thing FRAUD. (this is the 2nd time he calls) The man was very rude and using badwords the whole way through out the conversation. He told my husband that if he didn't call him back in an hour with a credit card that he would be calling the companys HR department. This could get him fired, what can we do to stop him from calling him at work?? I don't think that he has ever called our cells.

Mr. Jackson has went as far as contactiong the Human Resource Department at my Job and telling them that he has a complaint on me.  This could get me fired. Mr. Jackson stated that he can pay the debt for me and that I will have to pay him every two weeks to buy me some time he goes on to explain the the money that I pay him will not go towards the loan, and that if I don't pay he will send the sheriff down to my job to arrest me. and the FBI will be involved as well

yes Mr Jackson tries to use strong collections tactics but he is breaking many of the FDCPA law.  although you may owe the debt he is breaking the law and the company may end up having to pay you for him breakig the las contact this legal firm 888-332-7252 they handle companies who are volating collection laws.  It is no cost to you .  These collects are not following the laws and need to be stopped they can not continue to call you if you notify them not to especially at work .  They can only call you so many times a day .  Let them know they need to validate the debt as well.  Look up the FDCPA laws and turn it back on them watch him get quiet good luck  to you

I received a threatening phone call from this number from a person known as Mr. Jackson and also a person named Megel Moss.  I was told that they would be lodging a complaint against me and that they represent the following companies:  Ameriloan, Pay Day Loan Yes and a host of other companies.  They had all of my information such as social security number, office number and cell phone number.  I asked them to send me some information and was told they would.  I called back a week later and was told that Miquel Moss did not work there anymore and Mr. Jackson, who is arrogant and very, very rude.  Both of these guys have an american accent, not the normal heavy indian accent that you experience with these calls.  They say they are from HBC or HBZ Legal Department.  They constantly put you on hold and let the music play for a few minutes.

This guy's name is John Lord and he calls claiming to be investigating a fraud case involving the person he is calling. He claims to be an attorney and says he must speak with you ASAP. Why then would a Law Firm have an unpublished number which this one is. The number originates from Atlanta, GA and is unpublished. I would imagine any Law Firm would have thier number published to receive business. This guy is a debt collector using strong arm tactics to try and scare people and intimidate. I have reported him to the Attorney General in the state I live in and suggest anyone else do the same. If he is not an attorney I would imagine that is fraud.

If you are targeted by these criminals, be sure to report them to all the following federal and state law enforcement agencies (most of which you can do online or over the phone):
1.    The U.S. Secret Service is responsible for protecting the country's financial infrastructure and payment systems from international and domestic threats. Call or write your local Secret Service field office to alert them to the details of this attempted extortion. The addresses and phone numbers for the local Secret Service field offices are listed at http://www.secretservice.gov/field_offices.shtml or in your phone book.
2.    Alert the FBI at https://tips.fbi.gov Be sure to tell the FBI that you are being targeted by extortionists over the phone. And if the crooks claim to be law enforcement or lawyers, officers of the court or bankers, be sure to include that information in your report.
3.    File a complaint with your local police. Most police departments will take a report over the phone.  Be sure to tell them that you're being targeted by an extortionist and give them all the details.
4.    File a complaint your state's attorney general, the contact information for whom is at www.wvago.gov
5.    File a complaint online with The Federal Trade Commission at https://www.ftccomplaintassistant.gov/FTC_Wizard.aspx?Lang=en
If these crooks call back, promise them nothing, pay them nothing and tell them nothing other than that you know they're a scam and that you've reported them to law enforcement. (And be sure to report them to all the agencies above each time they call you.)

By the way, here's just a small sample of numbers used by this particular group of scammers. Read the reports and you'll see the same pattern time and again -- phony organization names, thick foreign accents, and oddly worded threats that are so melodramatic and ridiculous that it's laughable:

Scam alert: Bogus debt collectors
By Leslie McFadden ? Bankrate.com
Monday, Aug. 3
Posted 2 p.m.
Bankrate reporter Leslie McFadden contributed this entry.
This scam isn't technically about credit cards, but it is scary enough to post a warning. The Better Business Bureau issued an alert today saying consumers across the country are getting phone calls from bogus debt collectors claiming default on a payday loan. Of course, the consumer needs to pay a large fee to avoid arrest -- as much as $1,000.
The caller poses as a lawyer, and may threaten extradition to face trial if the consumer doesn't pay up immediately.
What makes these calls alarming -- and perhaps convincing -- is that the perpetrators reference the consumer's personal information, such as the person's Social Security number, driver's license number, previous bank account numbers, home address -- even personal references.
"The amount of information they have is really troubling," says BBB spokeswoman Alison Southwick. She adds that the amount of data points to a possible security breach.
Spread the word to your friends and family: Don't give out personal or financial information to an unknown caller. Scammers can spoof Caller ID to display different numbers, so trust your instincts over technology.
The BBB offers these tips:
?    Ask the debt collector to provide official documentation which substantiates the debt.
?    Do not provide or confirm any bank account, credit card or other personal information over the phone until you have confirmed the legitimacy of the call.
?    File a complaint with the Federal Trade Commission online if the caller is abusive, uses threats or otherwise violates federal telemarketing laws or the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act.
?    File a complaint with the Better Business Bureau online if you believe a debt collector is trying to scam you.

I actually talked to this person (s) named Mr. Edmonds, same law firm HZB, same presentation as above, but new phone number...687-369-0105.
Says I borrowered $250 and I owe $620 back, if not paid in one week it will cost me $3800 and $6000.

I never signed the loan contract papers when I got them because of the high interest, but Mr. Edmonds has proof that the money was deposited into Bank of America...I've never had a Bank of America Account. Watch out for this guy and this company, you're right they are FRAUD!!

I just got a call from this "John Lord" person basically saying all of the above and he also wished me good luck if I didn't call back.  I actually work for a world-wide prestigious law firm so I call him back from my work number and of course got a recording of a woman's voice saying indicating that the name of the company was HZB.  I left him a message basically saying that they should mail legal documents to my home address and I'll have someone from my firm get back to him...:) Tit for tat a/h.
