got a call from this number. who the hell are you?

these guys are now using a caller ID spoofing system - that is, they are replacing THEIR phone number with ones chosen at random from elsewhere. It's like using a fake ID - except it's ILLEGAL!   It was the same script I've had rom 678-466-2993 but now is "702-346-2220"

So if it's illegal, imagine what kind of company is doing this?  Do you think it's a legitimate business?

Called on April 8th, and I ignored the call.  Probably another car warranty thing.

petition your representatives in Congress...they can MAKE it stop, they just refuse to. Like so many other things that don't effect them, they refuse to act and represent the people who elected them, not the corporations who continue to buy them off.

someone wanting to sell a warranty on our car. We already have a warranty. This call comes on my husband's phone which we have to buy minutes and it is for emergency only. How do I get it stopped. Call are at least once a week. My husband is disabled and does not know that he shouldn't answer.

One more item. The phone center appears to be near Jonesboro, Georgia.  Not surprising as the people have accents of the area, and there are large call centers there.  

I've previously had calls from the same company using the same scripts and they seem to be headquartered in Boynton Beach, Florida.

This telemarketing firm has been spamming our office for weeks. This time for car warranty. This time they didn't spoof (falsify) the phone number and it showed up on my caller id with 678-466-2993. In the past I've had false caller ID (which is illegal) and the people at the other end of the phone knew they were part of a scam and gave me false number to call back.

Today the nice young woman who answered was 1) obviously new to telemarketing, 2) much better educated and well spoken than most telemarketers, 3) unaware she was part of a call scam.

I informed her that since we're on do not call list, that her firm can be fined $11,000....she didn't believe me.

My suggestion: ALWAYS ask for a number you can call back.  I say, "If you want my money I need to have a phone number I can call you on. Otherwise you're not getting my credit card."  it's still a scam, and the real conman operators will find a way to call you back now that they know you have a credit card and want to buy.

I also got a call from this number just now.  I don't usually take calls from unknown numbers but I thought this was a call from CA.  I didn't know this caller has spammed other people as well.  How can we report this?

this crapface company just called saying something stupid about a second warranty warning. I hate these people. How can we stop this crap!

After a dozen calls I followed their instructions and when someone came on the line they identified as Warranty Services. When I asked them which of my cars they were calling about they hung up. This must be the latest attempt to skate around the no-call list.

678-466-2993 got a call from this number on my cell phone trying to sell vehicle warranty. It's a scam the guy knew nothing about me and when i looked up the number i9 came here..
My co-worker gets the same people calling on her landline and all of her cars are older then 10 years, and have never had a warranty

Just got a phone call from this number. Didn't answer and no message was left.

I received 2 calls from this number as well.  The call was at 12:14 and 1:49.

I get a computer voice that says "this is your second call . . ." about car warranty expiring.  Funny thing is that my car is 17 years old and warranty ran out under my fathers name - it is a huge scam to buy a warranty that covers nothing!!!!

Received call from 678-466-2993 at 3:30PM PST today.  No message.

Got this call too,  but I didn't answer. No message. I called it back later, and it said, " The call could not be completed as dial, please check the number and try again..."  ..... it's usually some foreign person trying to sell insurance, I hate that.

recieved phone call on cell phone, 4:51pm CDT April 8, 2009.   No message.

No connection; I just got a call from this number, and no-one has this cell number. (I don't even own a vehicle.)

Same story; however, I did just have my car serviced at Firestone a few days ago. I wonder if there's any kind of connection.....
