def a scam.

press 9 to talk to Rachel to lower your credit card interest rate.  My bank said it was a scam, they did NOT call.

So I did out of curiosity.  Talked to a friendly guy named Mike, but when i asked where he was calling from he said, "Orlando, FL".  ...  "No, no", I said.  "What company?"  All he replied was, "Card Services".   I kept on with the phone call trying to get information from him, like a phone number that I can call back in case I had questions, but he said that there wasn't a number.  ???  Totally a SCAM.

They did not leave message... I called back and a recorded message instructed me to press 1 to be placed on their Do Not Call list. I did it and hope they don't call me back.

and by "same one" I mean that maybe some of the same jerks started things up under a different name while the court process goes on.

The FTC WILL SHUT THEM DOWN if enough people file these reports. It was about a month ago that they finally shut down this other company, perhaps this same one, for dialing every number that exists!

There is a federal law against using an automatic dialer to dial a cell phone. So this is a perfect complaint, even if you're not on the do not call list, so fill out the FTC complaint providing at least the number 678-466-2999 and the fact that it was an automated call and your cell phone or that you're on the do not call list.

Once you see others complaining on messages boards like this, please go straight to the FTC so that less grandmas and grandpas get ripped off by these A$$HOLES!

Claimed "Credit Card Services, MasterCard" After pressing '9' to "lower my interest rate" I told the man who answered it was illegal to call my cell. He said it's legal where he's from. I said it was a federal law, asked him not to call me again and asked for the company's address. He said "Here, I'll tell it to you!" and slammed the phone down. Its apparent that this is some type of scam, whereas they are either
trying to obtain your credit card # or personal information for identity theft.  I pressed 9 & before I could even finish saying "can you put me on your no call list" they hung up.

message coming from several different numbers.

Yup, same thing - mine was a missed call. Called back and got the press 1 to be removed, h*ll if I press anything. I'm sure they already logged that it's a working number by me calling back.  

I'd advise everyone to not call it back.  Try calling the phone company to get the number blocked, but don't fall for pressing 1.  Good luck to us all!

Seems like from the other postings, a lot of these calls are to cell phones... Mine is also not published. Got the call...missed the call...called it back and the automated number hung up on me. Yup, they're pretty gutsy....

Damn people kept calling me at 3-5am. I couldn't go to sleep so I finally answered, pressed 9. "Want to lower your credit card rate?". I snapped because I had little sleep and screamed, "I DON'T HAVE A CREDIT CARD NOW STOP CALLING ME" then hung up. Of course there were a lot of cussing in that statement.. Why am I getting so much scams? Is this like initiation for turning 18?

This number called me today and asked if I wanted to lower my intrest rate and asked for my card #. Speaking that i'm only 14 years old, I told them that and the dummie hung up on me. It's a scam. Don't give out any info.

received a call from this number  today but when I answered they hung up. Good I checked this number and read all your posts.

I was outside enjoying the pool today came in and found this number had called my cell phone which not that many ppl have the number to i tried to figure out who would called and not left a msg now that i did a search on it i am glad its one call i missed.

Called several times, never left any messages. This number is from the Jonesboro area, and is a land line. I've been called with a similar scam, but they were in Gainsville, FL.

What's funny about that is that 678 is an Atlanta, GA area code, not Arkansas.  So apparently they're not even good with geography.

I, too, received a call from them today wanting the same thing.  When I was connected with a rep, I asked what company he was with & he hung up.  I called back & pressed 1 to be placed on their Do Not Call list.  We'll see what happens

Called my work number, I answered but they hung up.

I got a call and when I asked what card company was calling they continued to say "Card Member Services". Finally, I insisted they tell me what company they were with and they hung up.

my cell is not public domain very few people know this number.If you don't get a answer its because i dont care to know you or talk to you get a life one thats free of crime....

Called my cell phone.  Did not leave a message.  I did not pick up. Lame.

Called me earlier today on my cell phone. If you "answer" the call it automatically initiates the call from your phone to them.
