i keep getting calls from a number +1027 and it only rings for about 2 seconds, how do i block this number/stop them from calling me?

I just received a call from this number, asking me to pay a debt that was made TWO YEARS ago. I dont even recall what it was for, so in me asking them to send me a letter explaining to me the situation the man got all snappy. Telling me i had to pay them $100 dollars over the phone now. In trying to explain to him that i wasnt going to pay for something over the phone, that i couldnt even recall, he basically hung up on me after telling me off. I'm not sure who the company even was really because his English was so broken. I hope i get a letter from them so i know who to complain to about their service skills

I just got a call from this number not 20 minutes ago. I have gotten into the habit that if I see a number on the caller ID I don't recognize, to type it into google, and see if anything comes up. sure enough, I got directed to here and I'm sure it's one of these third party debt collection agencies. For some reason it's out of marrietta georgia. does that location sound familiar to anyone? let me know. while sitting here typing this, another strange number came up. It always says "toll free SVC" on the caller ID, and to me that's almost surely a debt collector as these places seem to call from that number a lot. Anymore I just ignore them. So my advice to anyone being called by these people would be to get a caller ID, and google the number to find out who's calling.

I have gotten several calls a day from this phone number. Never leave a message, and I keep very regular tabs on my credit. I know they are not calling for me. I'm sure this is a scam. They are calling my cell phone, and it's annoying as HELL!!! I don't answer, because if they were legit, they would leave a message, with call back info, account rep name, etc. At least I know what number this is now, so I can NEVER ANSWER THE CALL!!!

This company is a collection agency: Bay Area Credit, LLV, 1000 Abernathy Rd, Building #400, Suite #165, Atlanta, GA, 30328. Their phone number is really 678-486-1027... They seem to be fraudulently trying to collect from accounts that never have existed. They tried to callect a debt from me from Providian Bank, which was purchased in 2006 by Washington Mutual, and which was recently purchased this year by JP Morgan Chase. Should you recieve a call from this company, contact your state's attorney's office immediaitely as your identity is in jeopardy!!!!!!

guy asks for the last 4 digits of my ss to confirm a financial matter

I said I don't even know who you are - says this is a financial matter - Like I said, I don't know who you are - he asks me to confirm my address - I said no way - have a nice day and hung up!

The same foreign guy keeps calling my grandmother asking for her social security number saying that she owes somewhere around two hundred dollars.  I have tried to call this gentleman back and deal with him myself being as she doesn't even have control of her finances, but I get only a busy signal.  He calls just about every day twice and even three times a day.

Just received a call from this number from someone with very broken English and I could barely understand him. Said there were very pressing business matters for (censored). I asked where he was calling from and he said he needed to speak to (censored). I told him I could relay a message to (censored), just give me your information and he didn't know what to say to that. I turned it around on him and said "Let me help you get in touch with him, give me your information". After he said "um, oh, um"  I said "nevermind, there's no (censored) here."

Got this phone call 4 times today-left no message and when i try to call back it goes immediately to busy signal.  Harrasement is what it is.

Called my parents house at 08:33am and left a voicemail.  It was obviously someone from India trying to pretend he was an American named Rick, and th emessage was very agressive and forcefull, stating that he "Expects a call back to him at some 866 number and an ext, today."  He can expect all he wants but as the saying goes, "Wish in one hand and s**t in the other and see which one you get first."  We are in the process of filing for bankruptcy so this will be a mute point soon enough.

Said someone might "pay me a visit" if I didn't pay money (which I do not owe) right then -- over the phone.  Sounded like some sort of East Coast sub-working class middle-school campus bully on steroids.  Doubt that he has anybody to send over to "pay me a visit."  If he did, no doubt my Dad would shoot them.

i got a call from this number just now asking for my sister.  when i asked what it was in reference to they said it was a business matter.  the accent was very thick and broken.  they wanted my sister number i told them i wouldnt give it out because i dont know what this was in reference to and they hung up.  i called the number back and it was busy signals.

what kind of trouble could i get in if i play the indian accent back to them  and just play around with them. i have told them countless times that they have the wrong number and they still call. i have even tried using curse words and they just keep calling.

I keep getting calls from 678-486-1027 and they are asking for Linda McDonald. I keep telling these people that I have had my cell phone for 4 months and obviously I was given the number of someone who previously had their service turned off. Today I googled the number and found this website. There is a post above that says this number is related to Nationwide Credit. I went to their website and found a toll free contact number. I called them and told them I was being harrassed because they keep calling me and I dont know this woman. They asked for my number and found it did used to belong to Linda McDonald. They said they would note that my number is not a valid number for that woman and they will quit calling me. I guess time will tell if they are telling me the truth. This poor non english speaking SOB is very rude, misguided, and in plain simple english term, "he is definitely a stupid idiot".  But he had the audacity to yell, but I could not get upset because I didn't know what the a**hole was saying.  If Nationwide Credit is reading this, FYI, we live in Amereica, please teach your employees to speak english, unless that's your excuse to the FTC why he can't be guilty of harassment, because no one knows what the fuc he said, or can't repeat it.  Here's a common sense lession for you Nationwide Credit, "IF I COULDN'T PAY THE CREDIT CARD COMPANY, HOW IN THE WIDE WORLD OF SPORTS CAN I PAY YOU"  DUMB A**!  Anyway, their address is NATIONWIDE CREDIT INC 3 CORPORATE SQUARE #700 ATLANTA, GA.  Geez!  at least you can find zip code yourself, I done all the hard work, now get the consumer complaint form filled out and mail to the FTC, and if you live in Florida, the Department of Finance has forms also.  GO GIT EM!

I got a call form 1-678-486-1027 the name was nationwide credit I have never hard from them before and do not know why they called. The person left a massage on my phone could not get the first part of it but they said it was about a important matter. I never done any bussines with them and have no idea why they are calling me. They want me to call back to a 1-866-803-9316 ext 2003. I will not call back I have not every got anything in the mail from them. I looked up the # they wanted me to call back and got no hits on it do not know who it is.

This people is insane!

Got a message from a man who spoke broken english and wanted me to call back about some business details. In the first place I have caller ID and I don't call anyone back with area codes I do not know. If more people would get an answering machine and let it screen their calls that look suspious, they would not get stressed out and can always call back if they want to at a later time.

I just started getting calls from this number once a day, about every two days.  I do not answer my phone from states (area codes) I don't know anyone living in.  I never receive voice mails from this number and reading through the past posts here I can see why.  I've had this cell number for almost five years and know where all of my financial/debt calls come from, and this is not one of them.

Got  call from this 678 4861027 number. Male with accent so thick you couldn't understand him. Wanted my son about personal business.

I called the number listed and it said I couldn't call this number as dialed, so I found an 800 Number for Nationwide and called them asking them why they called me.

I never spoke with an English language specialist, that's for sure, and they said they couldn't macyhm my phone number to an account. I hung up. Scammers?

I get this call fairly regularlÝ, but have never answered because I don't answer calls that have no idea who it could be. Anyways, they never left a message until this morning and an indian dude tried to pronounce my name and said he needed my direct location and to call him back.  No company name, no info, just that.

Have sent multiple cease and desist letters to Nationwide Credit.  Filed complaint with the FTC and Better Business Bureau.  These ignorant fools at Nationwide Credit keep calling my number.  A class action needs to be filed against them
