they keep calling saying they need to serve papers on someone I work with.  When I tell them to contact that person at home, they tell me there will only be 2 attempts to serve, and if they both fail the hearing will take place in his absence.  the judge will then fine him for failure to appear.

Just happened to us starting new year.  Same story as others.  Called multiple times over 4 days wanting to serve papers on someone we don't know.  Claimed to be from "SNB Processing" out of Atlanta.  Asked what they did and he claimed they are a "Processing company for court documents."  I can't find any reference to that company on internet.  Would not give me a return phone number and said that he was calling from an outgoing number only.

they keep call me and asking for someone who does not leave here. I told then she does not live here and to stop calling but they don't. then some time they call and when I pick up they do not talk. and when I asked to tall to a some in change they hang up on me. I can not find out who this is or the name of the company.

Got tired of them calling and leaving no message so I lost my mind and answered.  Even though the caller id says Georgia, he claimed to be from Calf.   wanted to serve papers, I said bring them on!
He then changed his mind and said give hubby a message to call another number.  They didn't want to send papers if he would call them blah. blah blah.......
I looked up the # he gave and it has complaints too,  They do not sound very nice at all!   I taged it on my caller id to not answer agian.  He would give me no company name or info other than wanting to serve, but then not wanting to.....goofy!

Received a call 3/19/12  from the above phone number saying Is anyone authorized to accept legal documents for someone.  It sounded like a recording so I asked if it was. He said no and repeated the question.  I said he had the wrong phone number and did not who he was referring to. He said will take you off the list.
The reason I am writing this is because it reminded me of bill collectors calling about neighbors years ago.  It ain't my business.  It is illegal, but guess they have a new phone number already

Called my cell number but didn't leave a message. Based on SC's note, I think this is the same group that's been calling me for a few months. The calls started off coming in from MI, then CA. Now it appears they're calling from GA.
This is a scam. I've done a bit of research, and this is a debt collector who tries to collect on very old accounts, some paid off. They threaten legal action and try to get you to agree to pay in order for you to not be served with papers. The thing is, there's no one serving papers. Most of the accounts are way past the statute of limitations to collect on. It's illegal, but they don't care. The number that called from MI was calling from a Magic Jack phone.

Called me numerous times stating that they have papers that I will be served with but will not give info bout them or the company that is supposedly serving papers. Gave a 866 # and that line is a fax #.

Called on my cell phone today. Didn't leave a message. ??
