Continues to call me asking debt questions telling me im going to jail if I dont pay. I have no job so I have no debt.

I told these idiot people the account they were wanting me to pay on was paid in full. She said do I have a letter stating that. I told her I didn't need a letter stating that. She said she would check the credit report. Who in the heck are they? I have never received a letter from these people in reference to his supposedly overdue bill.

There is one simple and clear way to get them to stop harassing you. This can not be negotiated. Send the company a written letter, saying do not call (or even contact if you wish). They legally have to do what you ask of them if it is in writing. Save yourself lawyer fees. Just tell them you will deal with the original company directly.

Yes. I worked for a debt collection agency for a month and a half. I hated it. I could not be like some of these people I read about. I was more "Yeah, we have that you owe this debt. Care to pay it, or pay any on it? No? Cool. Talk to you next time." Haha the company did not like that. I also hated doing it. So I quit rather quickly.

There is also three states that a spouse is not considered an appropriate contact (Iowa, one of the Carolinas - I believe North, and another. But I forget, it has been a while). Tell the people who call you are the spouse, and handle the bills. If you happen to live in one of these three states, and they give out the info to you, sue them. Ask for the collectors name, ID, number, company and contact information. Then tell them why, and you will see them in court.

Also look up You Tube videos on how to handle debt collectors. There are people who actually make their living harassing these people back. But again, if you just wish to be done with it. Write a letter.

We get 2 or 3 calls a day from this number asking for a Tosha Woodard.  This person has never lived at this
number which has been our number for almost 40 years.  When we stay on the line, more times than not they
end up yelling at my husband and one Saturday morning called at 7:45 A.M. central time and woke us up.  Trust
me if we ever get a live person - they will get an ear full and then some.

i got calls from this company as well looking for someone who does not live here.  at first, i call blocked their 800 number, and now they call from this one (says "AMP" on called ID)

They just called me about a $70 invoice of some sort, that I do NOT owe. I spend over $10,000 per month on advertising alone,  you think I would skimp on a $70 invoice? 70 bucks is less than what I pay my housekeeper per hour.

These business are ALREADY SET UP to be able to call and harass people for money. So, say they call you and ask for $500 bucks. They only have to get it a FRACTION of the time in order to make money off of the scam.

It happens to small businesses all the time, particularly those who work with contractors. If a contractor sues you for let's say $1,200. It is much cheaper to pay the $2,500 than it is to pay your lawyer to defend you.

Do not give chunks of money to people who call you over the phone .... ever.

Received a call from these people , said I owed debt to hospital I work for gave a account number I requested proof that I owed this debt Woman became upset saying I had no right to request proof and they would settle for 70% off I called hospital for verification of this account they said that was a old  billing system that they cannot even access anymore . No proof don't owe but funny thing is they committed a hiipaa  violation they spoke to me about my room mates matters bet that rude bi*** is in trouble now

Got a call this morning from this number.  It was a pre-recorded message looking for a person I've never heard of.  I've never been in debt.  I just hung up after they stated the name of the person they were trying to contact.  God, I hope this isn't a harbinger of future annoying calls from them.  I consider all unsolicited calls as potential scams, so I NEVER give out any type of info to anyone under any circumstances.

Keeps calling......they are a pain in the butt....I don't owe anyone anything...............

It varies from one or two weeks without a peep from them to 6 calls a day.
My pbx allows me to block their calls so I don't even know they call until I check the call logs.
Gotta love modern technology.

I blocked every number they have and all of Georgia.

asset management professionals (amp) keep calling for a Thomas C Leverette, my number has not belonged to them for over 4 yrs I can not get thru to a human to make them stop calling me. blocking doesn't work they just use another computer number and since no human listens to my message (I say the same thing stated above on my answering machine message) they keep leaving the message to call. I am not the above person and don't owe them any money.

Similar to others, called no message and not the first time.  Don't know where all the 'pay your bills' preaching comes from but this is a phishing call to collect personal data by putting you at an emotional disadvantage  - which can be used for the caller's financial gain.  

Legitimate calls leave useful messages, legitimate collections also use mail.  Registered letters are useful in court, calling someone ten times carries little weight.  

Robo calls are cheap to make and often enough you find a sucker.  Check with your phone company about blocking calls, write your Congress critter and give them something useful to do, or get caller ID and join a 12 step program to help with the guilt over not answering every call.

I got call on my cell phone at 7:20 am CDT- I didn't answer it and there was no message left - I searched for the number on the web and found this link to report unwanted calls -read the posts to see what others have said - I didn't pick up the phone so cannot say what story the caller would have to say but since I don't have any unpaid bills, cannot imagine why a "debt collector" would be calling me...assume it is a telemarketer...

6787843680 Collection Agency Services, don't answer them or  answer then ask them to HOLD on, and just leave them on hold. their time is money and you are taking money from them when you do that.

This is a debt collector.  If you have bad debt, or somebody listed you as a contact/relative/etc on a debt, or the number you have was ever associated with anybody who has or is associated with a bad debt, you will get these calls.  And, it is legal until you take some specific actions to stop them.  But with all the illegal telemarketing calls going on, that the phone company could but will not fix, because they get revenue both from you and the people bugging you, the only solution is to block the calls, or don't answer if you don't recognize a number.  

Received 2 calls from this number 678-784-3680 (Asset Management Professionals) Jan 2014 - trying to reach someone that used to have the cell number.  I have had this number for over two years - only use it for emergencies so any incoming call has got to be a wrong number or someone trying to reach the former holder of the number.

track the calls call and attorney in your area so keep a record of who you spoke with and when. Send AMP a certified return receipt letter telling them you are not that person to stop calling if this does not stop them sue them in small claims court report them for harassment once the judge sees the calls they made the return receipt an the letter thy  ignored and they continue to call collect on the collectors.  Read the FDCRA there are laws they have to adhere to if they break them they are subject to fines and law suits .  Money wise once this happens enough they will either wise up or pay, Other side they are trying to collect  I did collections for a major American Auto Manufacturer not that we did not collect and we did and lowest delinquency rate in the nation. But there is to be respect we won a JD Powers Award.. A good company adheres to what you say they will check it out a good rep will apologize he or she may ask if you know the whereabouts of this person that is it they may not discuss someone Else's  dept with ..consider tapping the calls be sure to inform them you are different states have different regulations so be up front with them.  They are doing business.  That and more evidence when you take them to court with the time with your records with your letter return receipt  and certified.  But fist ask for a supervisor inform them you will do this be nice they are people too, trying to put bread on the table in a lousy economy with 40% unemployment.  Follow through there are attorneys that will help you based on contingency my experience there is the attorneys make a killing and you get meager  that said the calls will stop other wise as far as the collector is concerned even though 99.99% of you are telling the truth some are not. . These people are not bottom feeders they are people too treat them as such.  No all won't respond professionally but the good ones will. If they don't do the above enjoy some bucks on them   for being idiots.

I do not have outstanding debts, certainly nothing past due and unpaid. Why in the world would this number call me?

Just search google for cease and desist letters.  Find a good one and type it replacing blanks with the correct information.  You are not under any obligation to these bottom feeders! They buy thousands of accounts for pennies on the dollar and then turn around come after people! Not this company but Dorsey Thornton and A**'s started calling about a payday loan that was paid! we had the paid check that came through the bank back to us in our statement some 10+ years ago! I still have this because I always save in my filing cabinet.  I was able to send proof to these people via fax and they still said no you owe the debt!  They threatened my husband with a felony which IS ILLEGAL!  They called saying he was going to go to jail, they were gonna ruin his life!  They called my mothers house and other people around us and that was illegal because they are firstly claiming a bogus debt! Not sure how they got our information exactly, but back some years ago probably 12 years roughly, Best Bank in Michigan had several accounts will information stolen.  I am thinking that's how they got it.  This dorsey finally stopped calling after we sent a cease and desist letter to them and we had everything notarized and sent certified, registered and everything! I wanted it signed for so we knew they had it, that was our proof that the it went out in the mail.  Some of these companies truly are illegal and that's why some change their names like people change their underwear!

Automated call looking for an ex employee from 2yrs ago. Obvious debt collection call.

This number shows up on caller ID as AMP.  No voice message. When I answered it was a recording stating "this is not a telemarketing call" then it states a name, then "press 9". I hung up.

In reading other comments, they state it's some collection agency that buys old debts hoping to collect.

Annoying none the less... keep calling for wrong person even though I've repeatedly told them this. It's like they're retarded or something!  I've changed phone numbers a few month's ago-and now they call this new number as well....
