I too receive calls from this number.  They are Mann Bracken attorneys and they call repeatedly because of a collection matter.  They call starting at 8:01 AM and up until 8:59 PM.  They usually call us 17-22 times a day.  We have previously told them that we are waiting on our tax return and have been making small payments monthly to them, however, that does not stop them.  It's usually some minority you can barely understand calling.  We don't answer our phone and just turn our volume down on our phone.  All people we normally speak to just call us on our cell so these people really never do "get through".  You can't get blood out of a rock.  They don't care if your spouse dies, you're in the hospital, they don't care about you unless your account is in good standing.

Received a call from this number and they gave me another number to return the call.  It is 866-376-0410.  They have called me on my personal phone and at my work and left a message on the general voice mail at work. Could not understand the message or the attorney office Kerry Rivers said he worked for (he mentioned two).

Ohhh I'm very familiar with this one....
I have a bill with Chase Visa... got turned over to Mann-Bracken, they're relentless to calling me about my account, even if I JUST got off the phone with them.... half hour later I'll miss a call and look, and realize it's them. They always leave a message.
I checked their website, there's no way to contact them online.
I talked to one of the ladies on the phone some time back and said can I have an e-mail to contact also, as another point of reference, I only want to work with one person not 50 (I get a different person calling everytime).
She said she could give me her e-mail but was not allowed to reply, I said that's fine, she can still call, their hours and my work hours just didn't work well somedays I wanted them to be able to know if I'd sent a payment etc.
That girl doesn't call me anymore now.... hoping she didn't get fired.

Anywhoooo they ARE allowed to call, if you owe a credit card... just call'em back...sucks I know.

I get regular calls from Mann-Bracken's robo-caller asking for someone who does not and never has lived here.  When I call the number left by the recording and tell the receptionist that I'm calling because I want the calls to stop, she hangs up!  This has happened at least six times.

This is really about my neighbor who doesn't speak a lot of English.

She got a boost phone and Mann Bracken called it so much all of her minutes were gone.

She and her friend got on them about this. They actually went to Rockville and would not leave. The police were called and it got ugly.

She showed them the phone printout.

A Mann Bracken lawyer named Matthew Linkie handed her cash and made her sign something. Apparenly the police told Linkie to clean up his act as so many calls are harassment.

How do you know they are in bed with the NAF.  We are in Texas and they already took us through that scam and said we owe the money.  One attorney said that the NAF always comes in favor of the credit card company.  We have offered to pay them in installments but they refuse an want lump sums and get very nasty on the phone.  They seem like crooks.  Do you know if it is alright to ask for discovery even after a person has gone through the NAF?

I ended up paying mann brackin at least 1500. more than we first agreed upon over the phone. Then one day they stopped taking automatic debits from my checking and a year later are back for more with lies and such. I have all the letters they have sent me to prove they are lies. But who has the time to mess with lying lawyers. So to make a long story shortm after paying them off what they said I owed in May 2009. Now just yesterday Sept. 3rd 2009 I got a letter from them saying thank you for your payment on May....... Which I already got one in May or June. Then today Sept. 4th 2009 I get a check for 15.00 saying its for an overpayment. I will not cash it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! And I want to know what they are up to know. Can anyone figure that one out? P.S. They will repeatedly garnish your checking and charge you for their fees to do so.

Mann Bracken contacted me the very first time filing a lawsuit against me saying Capital One is the plaintiff.  I called Mann Bracken the day I was served and try to discuss all matters with them.  They wouldn't tell me anything until I gave them my social, address and employment....I REFUSED AND TOLD THEM THEY SHOULD ALREADY KNOW ALL THAT IF THEY TRULY HAVE ALL THE RECORDS THEY SAY THEY HAVE.  They continuously called me for days, weeks etc...  I did file my response within the 30 day limit.  I received a letter from Mann Bracken a few months later stating they had been awarded the judgement and I needed to pay them.  Of course I didn't respond due to waiting for the courts to send me something. End of June I received a letter stating that I was to be in court on July 24, 2009 for the pre-trail conference.  I called superior court here in Whitfield Georgia and they did state that the judgement was awarded to them but not in full.  I went to the court's got a copy of the judgement and ask why i had to appear in court or pre trail and no one could answer.  Now I have to go to this pre-trial conference tomorrow and don't understand the reason.  But I do have all my doc's plus all the info I have gathered about Mann Bracken being sued by 74 different consumers just this year alone for the same B***S*** they are doing to me.  Help me God!!  Fight these people!!!  Don't give them their way or they will only get stronger!!!

Yeah it is Mann Bracken. Looking for someone who used to work here.

The guy who calls is Dale Burns, what an inbred clown he is. All of us in the office make fun of him, telling him to squeal like a pig for us if he wants us to take a message.

He keeps telling us it is important personal business. We give him random phone numbers (sorry random people). And he calls back and says he must of written down the number wrong!

There's a whole web site about them, http://mannbrackenwatch.blogspot.com and some of the stuff on there is pretty funny!

I have read through all these posts and am experiencing simalar treatments from Mann Bracken. I have two accounts (Chase,Citi) both have went to collections. I went through a period of time where my income was cut in half and I wasn't able to make the credit card payments and child support, rent, cars....etc.
I made a decision to stop on the credit cards. We had other accounts too that were delinguent. As time went on I was able to catch up on some and most of my accounts were willing to work with us. We negotiated and come up with repayment plans. They all seemed very willing to help us out. Now Mann Bracket was a different story. They started up almost imediately with actions of arbitration. There was Ms. Jones that made several comments to my wife (who is not even on my account) that we had to send in the full amount, or 20% of it. Both accounts have reached over $17,000 with late fees, interest etc. We can't possibly pay these, they made a one time attempt to say that if we sent them $9,000 for one account they would mark it paid, but we can't do that either. So they had no more options for us, other than they said it was going to arbitration.
In one breath it hadn't and then it had. We have recieved no notification about arbitration other than Ms. Jones on the phone.

I read all the posts here and ended up calling Chris Diwan. He wouldn't take my call at first and then I told the secretary if he wanted to head off a complaint to the bar he needed to talk to me. All of a sudden he was there on the phone!

I told him breifly all the lies that Ms. Jones had told my wife and how they had broken the law when it came to the fair debt collection act. He asked me what I wanted him to do, and I told him I wanted him to take care of it. He was quiet for a second, and then he said done! I said what does that mean? He said it is taken care of. I said so what exactly does that mean to me? He said I put a Cease and Desist on your account.

So I asked what was to come of the amount of the debt? He said he couldnt discuss that with me. I told him I needed to know what they planned on doing, and he said that he couldnt discuss it. He finally did say that if I wanted to make a 3 times payoff for a settlement he could talk about that. but if I wanted longer payments he couldnt do anything. As I began to ask more questions, he cut me off and hung up.

I have an attorney that I have worked with in the past so I called him. He said I probably scared them off and they will send the account back to Chase and Citi. I might hear from Chase and Citi again or another attorney firm. He said more than likely they have an "internal" code that says when someone plays the complaint to the bar card, they wash their hands of it and send it back to the account holder.

I don't know if that is true or not, but I am frightened of what they might do next. They have not sent us anything indicating arbitration in writing. My attorney told me to sit tight.....scares me, but I guess he knows best.,

I have gotten a call from this same number as well.  They call claiming to be "attorneys at law" they are really debt collectors who work $5/hour plus commision.  I have an $8,000 dollar debt that they got an award off fromt the National Arbitration Forum! I tried to speak with a lawyer there, but no luck! They are rude, do not work with you and call me ten times a day! I have sent them a cease and desist to stop calling me! but they still do, they also threatened to sue me and take me to court if I did not make suitable payment arrangments with them! If anybody can tell me how to stop these idiots please help me god!

Thank God for this board.

I read http://mannbrackenwatch.blogspot.com and http://collectionagencyhallofshame.blogspot.com and they were right on.

I told the collector to take a hike. I called back and lied, told them I needed an attorney to handle a payment dispute. She put me through to Chris Diwan.

I told him I knew what Mann Bracken was about and that in today's economic climate a Chase Bank Card is going to get laughed out of court.

So he offered to settle for $200 on nearly $11,000 of debt. Just shows they pay pennies on the dollar.

I also made him give me their Federal Express account, I sent him a Moneygram money order so that there's no funny business. I read on one the sites that John P. Frye who is another collector does this and got fried.

This is an attorney's office. If you do not respond to them, they will file a judgment against you.  A marshall delivered the notice to me personally with a date to appear in court. They are legit. I promise.  And if you do not pay, they get a court order to send a sheriff to come into your house and take an itemized inventory of everything you have in your house. They will also garnish your wages up to 25% in GA. They have collected from me for 3 different credit card companies and a repo car. Trust me we know.

I paid what they asked. They said they never got it but I sent them the cashed check.

Then they said it was more. I sent them back their offer letter. Some guy called and said the guy who wrote it was wrong.

But I read about them on mannbrackenwatch.blogspot.com and I called and talked to Connell Loftus. He is one of the new bosses fter the buyout.

He stopped the case and refunded half the money I sent.

Why? He will be out of business if he loses his law license and enough Bar Complaints will do it.

I did sign a release about Bar Complaints but it settled a $5500 debt for $450.

After 3 months of calls I found the advice on mannbrackenwatch.blogspot.com and collectionagencyhallofshame.blogspot.com.

I talked to Scott Kramer yesterday. His direct line is (703) 245-0580.

He does not want complaints and he can't get another law job in this economy.

So he took $850 for about $9700 I owed HSBC.

He is tired of people going to him but that's too bad!

Received a call from Mr. Douglas Kendrick - very vague on details, did not even indicated who they were calling for, just some business name (I assume the actual creditor must work for the company). Needed to talk about a "business matter" - and I can hear talking in the background so I suspect this a call center associated somehow with the Law Office of Mann Bracken. Probably a "fishing expedition". By law collection call centers can only say they are "calling from a law office" if their offices are in building and/or associated (even loosely) with the firm.

Heck, they just called again while I was typing this out - hang up. Automated center, I must be on some sort of list now - good thing this phone is a secondary line.

THE THING THAT STINKS IS IT WILL KEEP ACCRUING INTEREST CHARGES UNTIL PAID. IF ITS ALOT OF MONEY-FILE BANKRUPTCY! ALSO, THERE IS A LAW INEFFECT IN THE USA THAT STATES THAT IF YOU NOTIFY A COLLECTION AGENCY THAT YOU DO NOT WANT ANY MORE PHONE CALLS THEY HAVE TO STOP. IF THEY DONT, YOU TAKE THAT LETTER TO THE COURT HOUSE AND THEY WILL HANDLE THEM. THE REASON THESE COLLECTION AGENCIES CALL YOU AND ASK FOR YOUR SOCIAL SECURITY NUMBER IS THEY WANT TO MAKE SURE THEY HAVE THE RIGHT PERSON........IF YOU ARENT COMFORTABLE GIVING IT TO THEM, GET THERE NAME....USE THE (800)# AND CALL THEM BACK...MANN BRACKEN IS A LAW FIRM....LOOK UP THERE WEB-SITE.
