Thanks so much for reminding me about this feature of my land line.  I had forgotten about it.  I just called and blocked the number mentioned in this post because they have been bugging me for weeks.

This number shows up as "Texas" on my caller id. I do not answer calls from parties that I am not familiar with. This party calls usually once a day, and with no message.
I have answered once, there was dead air for about 5 seconds

Worst thing a kid can hear...." Here Kid, here's your ticket to disneyland."

On the DNC list.  How do I get them to quit calling me?

This number keeps calling at about 10 a m everyday and leaves nothing on my machine. Neat time they call I will waste their time since all I have is time on my hands or so they think.

Received a call from this number a few times. Caller ID just says Texas. Finally picked up, they didnt answer. Tried to call back and it says no longer in service.

I have been receiving calls from this number everyday. I picked up the phone and they actually knew my first and last naem they said I should donate some money to make a wish program ..I said if I want to donate money I will contact the program not give money info over the phone. She then said well this child only has a few days left to live now.....

I got calls from this number twice a day for several days.  I don't pick up calls from numbers I don't recognize and they never leave a message.  I am on do not call list too.

I had a call tonight from this number! They went through the process to leave a message and then left dead air for about 3 seconds. The number looked fishy so I looked it up and was directed here! Also looks like no one has posted anything in some time so perhaps they are back at it. I hate scammers :(

This number calls my home often and there is never anyone on the line.  This is an FCC violation

They call just about everyday. I thought it was another bill collector (I have cancer, and it's killing my bank account alot faster than it's killing me). Any way, nobody spoke to me, tried calling but get the "number out of service" message. I finally just quit answering. They're gonna have to answer to God just like the rest of us so....

I have gotten calls from this # (Arlington Texas) for four weeks now except for today after I picked up they would wait a few min. then hang up( if you call back a recording says it's not a working number). Today 03/10/11 They talked to me. It was an older lady saying they need money for kids dying from certain diseases. Yesterday I was irritated they had called and hung up so I had my daughter look up the number online( my phone company could not help me) and we saw all the scams mentioned by everyone associated with this number. So I stopped the woman from talking and told her no I would not give money, I then went on to tell her that I had this number checked out online gave some of the other reasons that were mentioned that they're collecting money from this number and said I believe she was scamming me. she then said they also collect money for the police and the fire dept. nothing about other kid programs. well it did not take her long to hang up on me. I was suspicious, especially when she mentioned the other org. they call for. If you look at the real kids wish network they mention the  other affiliates that the work with. they all have something to do with children, police and fire dept. are not mentioned on the web site.

I just called this number back after having received a call from it. I received a "number not in service" message. If my understanding is correct, this is an FCC violation, and should be reported as such.

CRF's Central Illinois Contact Center uses the 682-227-6806 Texas ("call back out of service") telephone number to make these calls.

You can eliminate future calls from this number by contacting Kids Wish Network at 1-888-918-9004 and asking to be (1) taken off of their solitation mailing list and (2) put on their solicitation do-not-call list.  In turn Kids Wish Network will contact CRF to stop the robo-calls.  Contacting the fundraiser (CRF) directly won't do any good; it must go throuugh the charitable organization (Kids Wish Network.)

I politely informed the person at Kids Wish Network (I think her name was Penny) that calling back the 682-227-6806 number resulted in an "out of service" message.  I suggested they look into CRF's fundraising practices and weigh the costs and benefits.  Robo-calling from a telephone number that can't be called back is a quick way to generate lots of negative publicity for your charity on the internet.   Kid Resource Network will never get a contribution from me and I'll tell everyone I know to steer clear of them.

HOW TO HANDLE THIS....

I finally got a person when I picked up.  I asked her for the phone number of her call center and dialed it from my cell while I was on the phone with her.  I spoke to her manager and let he know what I thought of their practices.

They called at 10:05 central for the second day in a row.  Nobody replies when I answer and I get a disconnect when I try to dial back.  Odd to hear that a disconnected number is dialing me every day!!

I have been getting calls from them for about a week.  They never say anything when I answer, they never leave a message when I don't.  The caller ID says Unknown caller.

Caller ID: "Texas".  After I said "Hello", caller spoke my first name and asked, "David, we need your help...will you donate to help make it better for the last days of terminally ill children with The Wish Foundation...and quickly launched into their cancer/death statistics.  I politely declined (citing our local Make a Wish Foundation is very active) and asked to be removed from their list.  The caller said nothing and terminated the call.

I read this comment section a while ago. So assuming it was a scam caller trying to bait me I waited until they (he) called back. So I answered the call pretending to be the owner of a gay di**o sex shop and tried to convince him to by a black mambo di**o which happened to be on sale. He refused and hung up. =*(

We have received calls from this number twice daily for the last week.  After hearing reports of scammers making calls to Vermont homes, I forwarded my home number to work so I could catch the call.  It was the "Children's Wish Network", which according to Wikipedia has some issues with getting all the money collected to the "kids".  http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kids_Wish_Network#Concerns_and_Controversy

Keep rec calls from 682-227-6806 everyday with no messages. Caller id states Arlington, TX. Call back states not in service.

They call me multiple times per day. Never leave a message. They just called me twice within the past half hour.

They call me at six am and then 10pm. They Never leave a message and call every few days. I am on the dnc too.

Several calls a day for 3 days now!!
