Came up as "Service Rewards".  From the other posts, I would say it was the Mobile Press Register trying to get me to resubscribe to the newspaper.  Didn't leave a message.  They have cut the issues and news so bad, there is no way I would subscribe again.

Calling me in Alabama.  However, I NEVER give anyone my Google Voice number, and that's the one they are calling.  I'm 100% certain I have never taken a Salt Lake City newspaper.

Nomorobo blocked this call on the first ring. Therefore, this number is on their list of scams and other BS. Nomorobo is amazing?it catches and blocks about 6 calls every day.

I was finally home when they called.  He was indeed representing the "Salt Lake" papers, wanting to offer me a special deal to get me to resubscribe.  I told him I didn't have time to read the paper, and asked him to confirm that they will stop calling me.  He confirmed ~ we'll see.

I gather from your mumbo jumbo that you are in UT (as I am) and are referring to Deseret News and Tribune (both Salt Lake City papers).  

Someone from this number called me while I was on a call and I chose not to answer and instead looked them up here.  Based on your post and other comments saying it's "Metro News" calling, this may just be an annoyance and not do-not-call (at least for me).  

I cancelled my subscription to the Sunday paper two weeks ago.  If my suspicions are correct, they're calling me to talk me into resubscribing.  And, since they're within the "statute of limitations" of a business relationship (I think it's three months, not entirely sure), they do have the right to call under the "do not call' regulations.  

If any of you have recently stopped newspaper services, there's the answer.  If not, it was a guess on my part.

I have gotten a few calls from this number as well.  I followed the advice from Rosie and talked to someone named Lamar who said he would take my number off of their list but that it would take 24-48 hours to do so.

I called the number back and pressed *8 then ext. 201#.  I talked to Lamar who said that he would put my number on the list not to call but that it could take 24-48 hrs.  Hopefully this will take care of this problem.

I have been getting calls from this number twice a day around 9am and again around 6pm for 3 days now. I have left the answer machine pick up, but there is no message left.

I keep receiving nonstop calls from this number. They call at least once everyday, when i answer no one says anything and when i dont answer they dont leave a message.

These people call at all times a day. Several times a day. The never leave a message.

Have been receiving numerous calls from 682-990-4157 in the past month.  My caller ID, says it is from ALBQ JOURNAL.  i google that name, and it took me to the Alburque Journal.  I called them, they checked with their subscript dept., and called me back within 5 mins to confirm it has nothing to do with their newspaper.  The staff person was very understanding and apologetic for my inconveience, in spite of it surely not being their responsibility,  THANK YOU...M.   The final suggestion was to call my own telephone provider and get a permanent block on this

I also did a "reverse" phone # lookup, and found out this # is a VoIP # in Fort Worth, TX area.  VoIP means it is a computer generated call.  {Vo= voice-over}  If, they want to sell subscriptions to Metro News, their better be a live person on the phone, which allows us to tell them to STOP CALLING!!!

After receiving calls from this number and "ignoring" them for many weeks, I decided to answer one this morning to try to put a stop to it.  I heard some chatter going on in the background then a pre-recorded notice came on saying "you have been kicked from this conference".  What's that all about??? I haven't a clue what that means.

I just wanted to update anyone on this thread that my attempt, thus far, to get these people to stop calling has not been effective.  So, I have now gone to the FCC (Federal Communications Commission) website and filed a complaint against them.  I hope the outcome is successful and wanted to share this information with anyone who might wish to attempt to properly resolve this annoying matter.  Good luck to all.

I live in Alabama. This call shows up as being from the Albuquerque Journal. Why would I want a newspaper from New Mexico? Has only called once, but if it continues I will call the newspaper myself to see how they got my number and have it removed.

I, too, started receiving incessant phone calls from 682-990-4157 - at least 3-4 a day.  My phone number has been registered with the Do Not Call List, and apparently this 682 # does not recognize this fact.  I read through the emails listed below and I am thankful to person who listed the 201-587-2209 as the contact # to try to get these annoying calls to cease.  I just called the 201 # and spoke with someone named "Jessica".  I asked her to please take my phone number off their calling list.  She stated that it could take up to 2-4 days for that to be done.  I told her that I am registered with the Do Not Call List and she stated that I was not.  I know that I am.  I informed her that it is against the law for them to harass people and she stated again that she would certainly remove my phone number.  I sincerely hope she does.  Good luck to everyone being bothered by this company.  What a nuisance.

Finally answered this after received numerous calls on my cell phone while at work. The guy was offering a subscription to a Raleigh based paper, the News & Observer. I told him I wasnt interested (as I live over 300 miles from Raleigh in a rural area with no newspaper service), but he wouldnt let it go, so I hung up on him.

Caller says "Metro News", calls 2-3 times daily, tried calling back but can't get through to anyone at any extention.  Caller ID reads "MN".

Have gotten 3 calls today.  Left no message.  I did not call them back.  I have an unlisted number & also on the do not call list.  How do these call get through?

Calles 2-3 times per day. don't know this is. My son download the free app. Mr. Block.  You can't make the call hang up or send a message.  I chose to HANG UP ON IT and others.  It recognizes those calls as spam. I love it. Remember if the call matters, they will leave a message. Otherwise don't answer calls with weird #'s. Let them leave a message.

I doubt a newspaper would make much sense to you anyway, since all of the words in it would be spelled correctly.

tellamarketer for newspaper probley, thay wanted to renue are laget desret  news sundy paper and asked about the the tribbune i belive that thay provide this service for motable citys and state news papers and thay keap chainging' and adding new ph #'s call blocking might help i blocked thare #'s for about 2 years but now this one seams to be a new one thay wont stop calling iven if u scream and yell at them to stop calling u, you might want to reach thrue the phone ant strangle them , maby call your lockle news paper to try to put a stop to thar craparula or just pay for another term 4 to 6 months + ..///...,,,,!!!!!!

The caller has no association with this website and so will not see your request.  Even if they did, they would not know who you are to remove you.  BTW, do NOT ever post your actual phone number here for the whole world to see in hopes of having it removed from calling lists.

I get the same calls non-stop, and at all hours.  I took the advice of "S" above.  I typed in 8, then used extension 2222# (pound sign).  This got me to the telemarketing manager "Heather".  She assured my name would be taken off after 24 hours.  Heather also gave me her direct #;  Here it is: Heather 1-210-587-2209.

these a__holes at the Albuquerque Journal newspaper have been calling me for weeks.  I told them to stop calling and even called ABQ Journal main office circulation and told them to stop calling my number, said they would put me on a do not call list.  Several days later, I am STILL getting calls, but when I answer to phone there is dead silence.  It's gone beyond annoying!
