After reading about these unsolicited calls that are illegal, I'm hoping they will be stopped.  They use different numbers and call at different times.  I'm always receiving calls which can originate from initially unknown callers so I find this very, very annoying.  Let's all report and stop them!

got a call from this # this am...claimed to be calling from Cary, NC Hearing Center.....really....hung up before he could say anything or ask for info....

This number has called my residence, ringing then hangs up.   I have had two calls  one yesterday evening and the other around 9 am. today.    It is not a recognize personal or business number I know.   Just thought perhaps it is to do with Social security scams, since they are prevalent in my area?

You can receive a call from them and they will not answer you! They suck but I know their number now.

You may be interested in reading a news release this office issued in May 2010, warning about scam telephone calls using spoofed North Dakota (701 area code) telephone numbers, at http://www.ag.nd.gov/NewsReleases/2010/05-25-10A.pdf. Since then, we have received reports from across the country of other scams using spoofed ND phone numbers.

Complaints about spoofed calls must be filed with the federal FCC at www.fcc.gov. You also may wish to contact your congressional delegation regarding enforcement of federal laws regulating spoofing.

The ND Attorney General can take complaints about calls made TO 701 area code phone numbers. These calls use spoofed numbers - they are not originating from (701) area code phone numbers. This phone number belongs to a public utility named CallerID4U, Inc., which is run by Paul Maduno and Luis Martinez.  They have entered into revenue sharing agreements with telemarketers who make illegal unsolicited telephone calls.  They profit directly from these outbound unsolicited telephone calls.

This appears to be a clear violation of a number of laws, including 16 C.F.R. §310.3(b) of the Federal Telemarketing Sales Rule.

Please take a moment to report this call via an online complaint to regulators.
