They called me 3 times in one day, I work midnights and this is annoying.  Just hang up when I answered.

My answering machine picked up the call since it was listed as no name, unknown number on the caller id. I didn't get the whole message but it was disturbing since the message I received also used some sort of synthesizer to mask it. When the message ended, a male voice came on the line, said hello, and quickly hung up.

This sure sounds like a scam.  I got the call today but I did not answer. I will report this to the Federal Trade Commission.  The message voice sounded like someone who used a device to mask his voice.  It was really weird.  I would not give any information to these kind of people who may be trying to steal personal identities.  Be careful.

I have been getting calls from this number almost daily but I am never home - I work all day. They never leave a messege on the machine so I called it back. The call went through but it was a recoding with no name just said, "Thank you for calling, your call is very important to us. Please hold the line for the next available agent." No one ever got on the phone. So I check it out here!

I actually got a hold of someone there - not that it ended up with me getting any more information.  The lady (who sounded like she was 12 and giggled through the entire conversation) told me that they are a company that provides offers and services to credit card and mortgage holders, as well as supplemental programs.  I'm not sure it's a scam, but it's definitely a sales call, which I would think would fall under the Do Not call rules.

keeps calling.  When I called back to find out who it is, all I get is a beep and then nothing

I called the number back and the recording gives no name or what the business hours are.  Second time I called back the line was busy for about two hours.  Three time I called back I was put on hold for over ten minutes and the recording never memention name of the company and it was the same voice when I called back the first time and the business was close.

I believe it is a scam operation.

701-250-0178 called my number 26 times in 26 minutes. this is harrassment on a grand scale. i answered serveral and they hung up. what can be done about this? they deserve a fine and i deserve restitution.

Contact America - in the caller ID. They call up to seven times a night. I have even picked up the phone and not saying anything, place the reciever down till it starts beeping - and they call back within the hour. When I call them - I get the office is closed for the evening. ???????????????? Really is a pain.

caller identified himself as calling from Lane Bryant. Stated that the company had separated itself from Woman Within. Credit Cards issued by Lane Bryant would no longer be able to be used. This caller wanted to get some pertinent information so that he could issue me another credit card. Yeah, sure. I did not respond.

They called us multiple times with their caller i.d. blocked. Half the time nothing would come through on the line, others it would be a prerecorded message from Call America saying to call this number. Called it tonight and was waiting 8 minutes for a person to talk to, and when I finally got one they said they called customers of Mercedes Benz. Never has anyone in this house, immediate, or extended family owned a Mercedes Benz.

Called and asked the Operator, Peggy, to remove my cell number from their contact list.  They have "an offer" so there is a business whith whom you do business that has contracted with "Contact America" (e telemarketing company) to offer you something - aka get you to buy something - over the phone.  She was pleasant and assured me she added my number to the do not call list.

THe past three days they have called and it shows up as unknown. Finally today when i answered it was automated and said it couldn't connect me but to call 701-250-0178. I called the number back and some lady said they had various offers for me. I told them my number was on the do not call registry and that I would be reporting them. She supposedly put my name on their do not call list but i will see how well that works. I have since reported them online. if everyone does that then it will help this the do not call registry prosecute and fine these people!

I actually work in a place that does this. I'm not going to lie to you, it gets annoying, believe me. I get that way a lot. The particular instance you are talking about though is relevant. I wouldn't say this if it weren't true on this site but what is actually happening is this: Lane Bryant has actually switched banks and your old credit card no longer works at their stores. You do need to get the new card that corresponds to their new bank. If you ask the people that keep calling, they will explain the same thing to you. If you still don't believe me, call Lane Bryant directly. (Also, hint: if you go through and get your new card... you won't get anymore calls.) But i was just keeping you informed.

I've been getting calls from 701-250-0178 since the begining of January '08.  They're relentless.  They call 2/3 times a day and then nothing, a couple days go by and then they only call once . . . a few more days go by and they call 3/4 times in a row.

Called my cell phone. Asked for my wife by her first name. I asked "what is the last name?"  The lady gave it. Lady said this was a courtesy call and what was a convenient time to call for my wife.I said, "as soon as I get home, this is a cell phone; I'm at work. Can I help you?" She said "this is a courtesy call. No." And she hangs up. I get home and have my wife call. I am on perpetual hold. The machine says "your call is important and will be answered by the first available agent."  After 4 minutes, we hang up and call again. Now the machines says their offices are closed.

Update on the last message. The number called IS listed on the Do NOT Call List -- AND, if anyone is interested, another website lists Brenda Anderson as the Manager of Contact America at that number and address. CA has a website with a LaJolla, CA address. That 800 number is 800-887-6837. Brenda's number is listed as 701-221-9000 for anyone who may want to resolve an issue.

Had my wife's cell number -- left no message.

Got another call from this spammer number. Never answered it any of the multiple times they called. How do we get this number blocked?

Just started calling me today. Already called 3 times in which I did not pick up. No voicemails. I am glad I read all these and did not answer their call.

Got a call from  701-250-0178.  Goggle it says Contact America.  Said they were Lany Bryant.  Had my name from 6 years ago!  wow big clue huh?  I said that isn't my name anymore so how did they get my phone number??? too weird! He said they had mailed me a letter regarding getting a credit card. I told him I'd wait for the  letter and decide.  Did not give him my new name or any other info!  I'm on the do not call list so how did he get to call?
