Sounds like another advance fee scam.  I would contact the Attorney General's office in your state and talk to them.  I would also contact the American Stamp and Coin Foundation - http://www.americanphilatelic.com/#!auction-pitfalls/cttp - I'm sure they would be able to give you even more pertinent advice.

Help us - my father is about to spend big bucks with this guy - Bruce Allen who is with Global Asset Liquidators. This man is promising to open an LLC in my Father's name and tells him he is going to make $300,000 on his stamps. He just has to send them $3000 to buy a stamp to complete his set! Sound familiar???? Has anyone contacted the Attorney Generals office???

Well, wrong you were. I have been on two cruises AND just bought my first condo! Now, I dont work in a boiler room, nor do I even want to know what that is. But, I can tell you that I love my new place and have started a new collection of stamps and look forward to selling them, again for a major profit!

i have received several calls from world wide tangibles, they promised 75000 for elvis stamp collection
these stamps are nonperforated in sets and were mistakes in printing them. Purchase in 2003
the name he used as a broker for WW is philip at the 702 758 8550 number and he needed 1500 for auction fees.
he said today that he would like to finalize  with the intent to sell because he was going to China to a large auction
e mail i told him i would send pictures of stamps to make sure he was talking about the same one.
e mail is brokerpc@chinamail.com
He does not want the stamps till they are sold then i am to send them in a fed x box they will provde. and the fee is to be
refunded if they do not sell.  So glad i found this web site. I have not done any thing . no loss for me thank to you all.

I have also got hooked by worldwide last fall and have again been recently be contacted by John Taylor. I am very possibly hooked again. As others have said they always want you to pay an auction fee or buy another stamp so they can sell the ones you have.

The same story has been told to my husband time and again and it is always sending money then no sales come through.  And he did pay $2000 for the stamps to be sold in china at auction, guess what we still have the stamps and now they want another $7900 appraisal fee for the appraiser to come look at the stamps that they sold to us to verify they are real!!!!

I wouldn't trust ANY of those "stamp brokers" in vegas. I am a member of Untied Stamp and Coin Association and they are AWESOME!  They have an unlimited inventory and have helped me complete a couple of my sets. I was so surprised when they sold one of my coin collections at an estate sale. I didn't get top dollar, but they did sell it and came through which is more than I can say for ANY other company, so far. It is a 90 day membership, and I am in my second term with them, they are that useful. So, After being scammed out of $7,000, I am glad to say that I found the company that will work for me. Hopefully this will be helpful to you. Beware of those scammers, though! Good luck and God bless

We just received a phone number from 702-943-8843, supposedly Worldwide Liquidators.  We dealt with a guy named Frank from Worldwide, last fall who convinced my husband to buy another stamp for $2,500 so they could sell the stamps we already had.  But now according to the phone call today, Frank is now with Global Asset Liquidators.  Global Asset Liquidators also says they can sell the stamps we currently have and they have a $1,200 appraisal fee.  When I pressed Bruce Allen of Global that the fee was too high, he agreed to a reduction to $600 if I agreed to that charge that day.  When I told him I needed references, he said yes, he would send them to me but 5 minutes later, another person from Global called to offer me $500 for all the stamps we had.  I think both companies are a sham and maybe the best idea is to use the stamps as regular postage.

If you give them a credit card # and don't get the estimated $ for your stamps, then why can't you call the credit card and refuse the charge? They told me it was not a scam and Fed Ex would bring me a receipt and I had 18 months to reverse the charge if I didn't get the $1000.00 back. Am I crazy?

This is a very simple advance fee scam. The Seller DOES NOT pay. EVER. The buyer pays. You win the lottery, they deduct all costs up front. You get paid at work, they deduct all costs from the check. Should I ever receive such an offer, as described above, I would tell them to take it up their fee with the buyer, & then call me. I see a month of Sunday's in my future.

That's funny, pretty much everyone else on this site says it's a scam. They must all be lying.

So thank you so much for looking up the number on a site for looking up unknown numbers after "doing business a few months ago" and telling us how "pleased" you are (hehe). You can go back to the boiler room now. Your work here is done and you failed. Miserably.

That's funny, because I dealt with Art a few months ago, and my stamp portfolio got sold. I didn't get the amount that I expected, but he had paired up with a Howard and between the two of them, I am very pleased. So, before you go spreading falsities, make sure you know what you are talking about. If this wasn't online, I would leave my number, but unfortunately, it is the world wide web. Have fun trying to sell your stamps. I'm going on vacation.

Just found out Global Asset Liquadators are scam artists.  These people are preying on individuals with their Christians ways claiming to have rare stamps and you always need to send money to receive or sell your stamps.  Really, really sad because my sweet little Mom just got scammed out of a lot of money- fortunately for her I was visiting when one of these calls came in.  The person said, "They just found more rare stamps and needed money immediately"-went as far as crying hysterically about a lost opportunity if she didn't send money now.  She did not send any additional money and now realizes she was scammed.  Her heart is broken because she really built what she thought was a true friendship and is hurt to find out it was all a lie.

Be aware and if anyone knows how to stop this please let us all know!

I was also scamed into buying stamps before they can sell my collection.  Names encountered over the years from places like Worldwid Tangibles, Global Assets Liquidators, and Liberty are Patrick Kennedy, Timm Fett, Frank Sherman, Tony Patton, Jim Parker, Ron Abernathy, John Taylor and Oscar Goode.  I'm sure if you don't hear from them under these names you will under a different one.

Exact same thing happened to me except I purchased a block of 4 Elvis color overprints for $2950 & two Dale Earnhardt Angola stamps for around $495 from First Liberty Collectibles in 2001.  A fellow from World Wide Tangibles said they could get $90,000 for the stamps by posting them on an Asian auction block.  All I had to do was send them $2,000 up front for a security deposit.  I told him that was not going to happen & he immediately hung up.  This man's alleged name was "Art" and he called from several numbers, 702-726-2057, 702-742-5531, 775-410-0032, 876-405-2153 & 818-362-2608.

Harry Stein of WWT called saying he would sell my collection if I paid $2,000 for a TRS No.   I told him that was too much.
He called later saying he would take $1,000 for the TRS.  I said I would think about it.  I then received three calls from Maria, John and David trying to get me to buy stamps.  The call by Harry was from 775 298 5584.

Same story as many for last 10 years. New twist. The "buyer called". I had to wire money $7,000 that day into a  bank account routing and account #s given, and when it was verified as in the bank they would then wire me the $90,000 for my collection to my bank.  I asked, "why not just subtract it from the total".  Answer, "This is for the company (World Wide Tangibles) to make sure they are not cheated form their commission. I am the buyer and I am not in Las Vegas".  Had to be today, and wired to them. I doubt I would ever hear anything if I did wire.
