My credit card companies (one is Chase) will actually leave a message on the answering machine if it is about my account and ask me to call them.  They do leave a number and who called.  I normally just call the 800 number on the back of my card.  They have done this in the past when I have purchased something that I don't normally buy and are just calling to confirm the purchase and that I have not lost my card or had anyone use it without my authorization. As for the "card services" calls etc., I figure if they don't want to leave a message they don't want to talk to me and I just delete them from my caller ID list.

I got a call from this number and all it says is Nevada. After reading these comments I will not answer. I work for a professional fundraising company and the Do Not Call List makes exemptions for non-profit organizations and for anyone who has had a previous business relationship with you. All you have to do is ask to be removed from their list. Also every time you sign up for free offers or things online you have to reregister your number on the Do Not Call List and it takes 30 days for your number to be removed from the new lists.

We have been receiving their calls for years.  And we have been on "Do not call" list for years.

My friend with FBI and also working for Bank of America told me that Bank of America is not a safe bank to deal with, because they are way too big.  A lot of safety issues inside of this bank.  Stay away from Bank of America.

Keep filing complaints to "Do not call" against the telemarketing company.  Just hope that our government will hear our voices someday.

I checked out this as well it was telemarketing company on behalf of BofA and found out that do to ongoing buisness relationship with BofA that is why call come through even on the National do not call list. I would advise if no longer want the calls to come in just pick up the phone when they call and tell them to take you off there list. By law they have to.

I answered their call a few months ago and told them I wasn't interested in their credit protection plan and to take me off the list of people to call.  I guess I am back on the list again.  I am going to cancel my credit card I have with them.

Regarding the DO NOT CALL list.

If you are a Bank of America, or whatever credit card company calls you, then the DO NOT CALL list does not apply.

The company is called Synergy. They are trying to sell credit card protection services. Most of the time I answer I only get a recording that they are calling on behalf of Bank of America. It does not do any good to ask them not to call or contact Bank of America about it. BOA will deny they are calling on their behalf and transfer you to fraud service take a report. Two weeks later the same company will call from a different number with a different name on the caller id. I have tested this 3 times letting Synergy call from one number for 1 week to 4 weeks. Every time I contact BOA within 2 weeks Synergy changes the number they are calling from. I have canceled all my BOA accounts and the calls continue.

I am on DNC list.  This is really annoying, plus I am concerned about privacy issues.  How did they get my #?

Actually, Mr. cash is correct. Most (not all but most) of these types of calls are made by marketing companies WORKING for skip tracers, collection agencys and debt buyers. They desperately need to verify that you are the person they are looking for. That is why so many calls hang up as soon as you verify your name--the other hang ups are just an auto-dialer with no rep. available and by law must relinquish the line within a certain amount of time.Mixed in among other seemingly legit calls, they hope to go unnoticed-hence trying to sell privacy assit crap or whatever! Think about it-- some poor creep doing telemarketing finally gets someone on the phone asks their name and then hangs up???? Hell no -a real tele. would try his hardest to sell SOMETHING!!! With all the gagets and technology now, a telephone number can be spoofed and caller id changed to anything someone wants it to be. I strongly believe the days of land line telephone service are about to end-just because of this--it is much harder to fool a wireless-BUT can still be done!! Best thing to do--don't answer an unknown call-whatever it is--you don't need it!!

After three calls today, I have had it with these guys!

I am NOT a customer of Bank of America!

Not only will I be filing three complaints at donotcall.gov
but I'm going to my state's consumer affairs web site and
see what I can do there to make this stop.

2 calls per day, it has been over 5 months.
I make 2 comlaints on the donotcall.gov everyday.
Does not make a diference.
I wonder what is their plan.
Make people mad so they buy whatever they sell?
Reading the dates of these other postings from mid 2007, it seems that once again .gov left us some time ago.

in all honesty, MOST telemarketers take their job very seriously. Notice the MOST. I know the word of a telemarketer means nothing to you, but honestly I am concerned. Let me try to explain this, The reasonfor these calls isnt to bug you at home, honestly, good telemarketers prly hate people calling them and doing a crappy job more than you. The reason you guys are receiving "hang ups" is because this program is considered a "low" ($5million a year) income program. The reps with less experience or less skill are mostly the ones calling you. And it is not ment to mean any disrespect to you, its just that, my company has other programs worth upwards of ($100million a year) and the more experienced or more skilled reps dial those programs. Its just like, after a football team has a big lead they put their 2nd teams in. Im not going to deny that most if not all telemarketers are in it for the money, its an amazingly stressfull job this is probably a rumor but at work its said that telemareters have the 3rd highest suicide rate after dentists and cops. Now think about this as well, as a Company in whole, (10+ centers in the US)  we bring in over $500mil in a bad year, we havnt had a good year since the TCPA came into effect. Now its not like that money just sits in a vault somewhere, it is paid out, invested and there is no denying that it helps boost the economy. Now Im not here to argue im really not. But please dont "bash" telemarkters, is not a quote "pathetic job" we do give back alot as well, we provide free advertising to Non profit orginizations. Very very discounted prices to small/medium busnisses. And each center is required to donate X amount to a local community serivce project or orginization each year, last year my center donated 500thousand to  local YMCA and WMCA 1million total. Also, telemarketing opens sooooo many doors to career path, sales experience, detailed computer knowlodge, data entry, basic insurance laws, plus just the experince of talking with upwards of 200 people each day. In my case, I have been working for my company about 10 years total, i took a leave while they were paying for my insurance lisence class, and another while i got my degree in marketing, they paid for half of everything, room board everything. My company is responsible for over 4000 low income/disadvantaged young adults receiving degrees or career licence. all they ask is that you give them one year on the phone and 6months of management, while they are training another. Im sure you have heard 2 different things about telemarters wages, above average or below average, and both are correct starting out unless u have a natural skill or talent, your looking at making minimum wage, after a few months (sometimes longer sometimes shorter) your looking at 50-60k on a full time pay period. it may not seem like alot to some of you, but i would defintly not consider that "pathetic" for some one right out of highschool. I bought my first house at 21. Im not trying to brag or gloat, but I graduated 4th out of about 1000 in highschool, and had a house before I steped foot on a college campus. You cannot blame a person for utilizing their skills, Im not going to tell you my salary, im not going to tell you which marketing firm I work for. I will tell you That rather than asking to be taken of a list, ask "Will you please add me to the donot call list of every company that is represented in the call" This will usaly add your name and number to at least 3 different companys, if you would like it to take affect immiditly, which is alomst impossible, request in a nice tone of voice to speak with the senior supervisor on duty. If the rep gives you any lip or objects in any way other than a question. Please do Report them. I beg you to report them. I do not want people like that assosiated with my company at all. even if they are within the law it is rude, it honestly is not tollerated. and if there is a way to legaly terminate them i will find it. Try ur best to remember the name of the rep and if you are any way suspicus of a scam ask them their id number and names thats all the personal info they are aloud to give out. Of couse all of this is applicable to my company and no others I can not and will not speak bout about our compition. I hope that this in some way will help you understand and i do appoligize to any inconvience(typical telemarketer responce) again i dont excpet you to take the word of a telemarkter, but i do hope you will take my word as a man. sorry for the grammer, i am definitly waaaay to used to spell check
