These guys call every single day and ring exactly twice so they don't hit the answering machine. I can't even get to the phone that fast, so I've never spoken to them. When I try dialing them back, the phone company only gives the "could not complete your call" message. They can't be legit. I live in the same area code, 702.

Man called saying he was from some "fraternal order of law enforcers", said I wasn't in trouble (duh) but wanted to know if I thought it was nice having law enforcement officers protecting and serving. Yada yada... wanted money. KMA.

Guy asked for "the man of the house". Since I am a man I was a little offended and said "I think you have the wrong number" - he wasn't sure what to say so I hung up. These post are correct about these "fundraisers". I have a deceased brother-in-law who ran one of these operations once and he told me that they kept most of the money and only a small fraction (if any) went to the organization they were so called working for.

Very Annoying. Calls every day but never leaves a message.

For those who don't know -
Most calls asking for donations are scams. They keep 60-95% of your donation to cover fund raising expenses. Don't give them any.
If you want to donate to that charity find the snail-mail address and mail a check directly to the charity.

This phone number is calling to do fund raising for the Nevada Fraternal Order of Police. I have called the number. It directs you to a customer service department that can answer questions, help you donate, or anything else related to the FOP. Also, there?s information on www.nevadafop.org. Plus, you can contact them there with any questions or requests.
The FOP is doing a lot of really great things for Nevada police officers and the people that call are trying to help them raise money so they can do even more good.

I think the next time they call I will thank them for calling since we were runnin gout of money to pay the bills and since my husband was a police officer killed in the line of duty it is so nice of them to do this for the families in our time of need. I wonder how far I'll get with my "story" before they hang up on me. By the way, I am not the widow or wife of a police officer and I have nothing but the greatest respect for those who are, but these bottom feeders are the lowest type of scum preying on people to supposedly "help" the families of our men and women who wear the badge. I wonder, do they know it is a felony do run this type of operation?
