Caller claimed that it was apublic service call made by a water testing company which was doing independent research for the county-- wanted to test my tap water at no charge. I was given a number to depres if I wanted my tap water tested. I provided my home phone number and asked about what substances the company testd for becuse I had a well, and I already know about coliforms, hard water etc, but I was interested in knowing whether any pharmaceutical products had penetrated our limestone aquafer. I also said that I was familiar with well water testing and had owned a well before.... but the orignal caller was supposedly testing tap water from a municpality, not ecesairly well water!
At any rate, I now know that the tlephone call was bogus, any way!

I live in 540 area code and have been receiving calls from 703-173-2864 a couple times a day. When I try to call number back I just get recording saying call can not be completed as dialed. I wish soliciting companies weren't allowed to have numbers that you can't call back to bug them as much as they bug us.
