Got a call from 703-291-4179 - don't recognize or know anyone at this number.

I called 703-291-0156 and received the following message: Hello,  Thank you for calling Senior Care Awareness Program - a free service for all seniors with the surveys we conducted we were able to help over 20 million seniors and knew how we could better assist them. Press 1 to take the survey, Press 2 to be removed from our calling list, Press 0 for operations.
The recording's voice had an accent and miss spoke words such as Press 0 for operation instead of operations.
I pressed 1 to take the survey and was connected to Michael = I hung up.
This is a scam to get personal information from senior citizens.

Stupid fing idiot telemarketers calling. I answered and said I was not interested. They said they would rape my underage daughter and my wife. VILE SCUM VARMITS. They need to burn in a slow pain-full death. FCC FTC FBI need to shut these people down. IT IS REDICULOUS EVERYDAY!

I got several calls yesterday first two were blocked automatically because they did not show any information the last at about 9pm was from 703-291-9031 RESEARCH CENTER. I looked into this number there are many complaints from this number and under the caller I.D. TRIANGLE VA. what I found out is these calls are coming from a call center in Prince Williams County VA. the company responsible for the calls is Directions In Research Inc. (DIR) the following is their information:

Note, as with all survey companies you may ask to opt out of a particular survey but they will not permanently remove your number and can call you again for another survey. This does not mean they can harass you if the calls are frequent and non stop, if you notified them you do not wish to participate in the survey they must stop calling if not file a compliant.  
I try to keep these call to a minimum by blocking the calls using a Panasonic phone with call blocker it is not perfect but greatly helps I have also reinstalled my old original Tele Zapper it may be obsolete but some of the calls I have received lately have not called back, I still add them to my block list. I have been looking into other call blocking devices which offer more storage space for blocked numbers and will probably purchase one and use it along with what I already am using.  Only thing you can do is to block these calls, ask the company not to contact you or turn off your phone. As long as they have the legal right to operate the way they do those are your options. as for other telemarketers they are breaking the law by contacting people who have not given them permission to call them. if you can identify the caller you can then take legal action against them or report them.

should also note that toll free numbers will always come up as unavailable (caller-id is not used on toll free numbers they use ANI -http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Automatic_number_identification)  so be suspicius if you get a call from a toll free area code

Get calls from this # several times a day.

Rec'd calls everyday from this number. Finally I answered and said "DO NOT CALL THIS PHONE AGAIN"!!! Hope that works.

I got a call from this number at 7:43PM CDT last night.  Having had a less than pleasant day, I picked up the receiver and yelled that I am on the NO-CALL list and I hope you get arrested and hung up.  I hope the scofflaw heard me but I doubt it.

I have Hope for a Change from European Marxist, etc. thinking back to the 200+ years of people responsibility instead of governmental dependancy!

What do you have against our President and congress? Are you so much a dullard that you think our government is incapable of handling such matters as these invasive telemarketers? If you'd bother to do some research and EDUCATE yourself you'd understand that our government has been quite proactive in investigating these matters and creating new that will eventually put an end to those unwanted calls.

Furthermore, I have high hopes that  President Obama will get a second chance as Commander and Chief leading our nation through a threshhold of HOPE!

4 times in one week! I actually talked to someone, told them to take my number off thier list and the calls keep on coming! Called the number back and left a message to stop calling. Turned them in to a no call list but they keep calling! Can't anyone do anything about this? My number is unlisted and unpublished!

The Do-Not-Call list does not apply to any of you. The only way the DNC helps is with telemarketers. I would know, I am a phone surveyer. :P

Got a call from this number. Caller was Research Center (CID) Arrogant young punk that after telling him this number is on the DNC list told me that Research calls are allowed by DNC law. Hung up on him.

Imagine it's some political BS with Romney and The Obommer at war with each other.

if they call at 9:30PM THEN THEIR CALL IS ILLEGAL AND THEY KNOW IT. NOTHING THEY CAN CLAIM CAN MAKE IT LEGAL.

you can;t use ooma if you have a regular landline and not dish voip.

Healthcare survey?

Caller ID said "RESEARCH CENTER" so I ignored the call.  No message.  They called again about four or five hours later, which I ignored again and then did a search only to end up here.  Looks like another parasite, so they will be added to my call reject list.

Says Research Center on caller ID won't leave message very annoying b/c they call all the time!

I am so tired of these people calling my home  phone every five minutes and I am on Do Not Call List.I am calling  my phone company Monday morning.How did they get my number?

Though the caller ID says Research Center - they are actually Directions In Research - a marketing research company in California.

I have had it - these peeps call me every day several times a day. I have asked for them to remove my number - and still get several calls a day - every day for at least 6 months. I called the number back today and received a recording to press 411 for company directory, # to leave a message (what good will that fo?)  or 5 to speak to someone directly. I pressed 5 but actually recieved another recording that no one is available in the reception area to leave a message blah blah blah. They claim to be a market research firm called Directions in Reasearch out of San Diego CA. I googled them and found their website with a link to opt out of their market research calls.

This call shows on caller ID as "Research Center". When I pick up, there is no one on the line for me to request that my number be removed from their call list. I redialed the number and left a message to remove me from their list.  The Research Center recorded message claims that they are located in San Diego, California, but their telephone number is routed through a Virginia prefix.

sick and tired that they keep calling me, all day, even late at night. They do not leave a message or hang up when the machine starts. I am on the do not call list. If this happens again, I will report them.the caller ID says it is a reserch survery. I looked the phone number up, it is from VA.

This Research Center party has called several times per day in the past two weeks.  I have not picked up the phone and do not want to be party to their scam.  How to stop it?
