they call and leave no message. they call at least 3 or 4 times a week, sometimes more.

The trick is to get you to call back so they may record the conversation, hopefully after informing you of the recording, and try to get you to admit to owing them a debt and/or promising to pay them something. The reason for this is quite simple: the clock on the statute of limitations starts ticking again from the day you tell them you owe them a debt. They will do almost anything to get you to say this on tape.

The good news is that the robo-call and hangup practice is actually in violation of  FDCPA 808 (5) which specifically states:

(5) Causing charges to be made to any person for communications by concealment of the true propose of the communication. Such charges include, but are not limited to, collect telephone calls and telegram fees.

The reason that it is in violation is that in order to actually figure out who these people are that keep calling and what they want, you have to incur a long distance charge in order to return their call. And these little violations they keep making are actually worth up to $1000.00 a pop to you IF YOU PROVE THE VIOLATIONS IN COURT.

I received my first call today 4/6/2010.  They left a message on my answering machine that said, "This is a call for (my name)" and then hung up.

They call all the time and never leave a message on my machine.

they called looking for me i wasnt home so i called back they said they were a collection agency and owed a bill from 1994 to montgomery wards for 1700.00. tjey said most of it was interest

I get about a phone call per hour every day from this number. They also call from several other numbers. I haven't sent in the assist letter yet but I will. I have never answered the phone when they have called. I am just sick and tired of them calling me.

My phone just rang, with Caller ID of "AACC 703-656-9944" but no one responded when I said "hello".   Just dead air.

I just got a call from this number and I pressed one to see if they'd say who it was. The guy gave me a name and number to call cuz I just told them the person moved out. Then the guy said "to part is sweet sorrow, have a nice day" Damn wierdo!

I get unwanted calls incessantly from this number.

This is a debt collector, calling random numbers to try to squeeze $$$$ from strangers. They don't care who they call, as long as someone coughs up some dough.

receive calls at least 15 times a week from this company.  I will try to send them the cease and desist letter as recommended above.  How long do you have to wait after sending the letter before you can file?  This has been going on for over two years....they are in there for the long haul apparently or either we are just lucky to have such dedicated and determined employees from AACC harassment agency!

You can sue this Collection agencies if you have sent them a cease and desist letter and they still call you for $1000.00 FDCPA Section 805 (c)in small claim court and that is the only way you will stop them from calling (Willful none compliance of the FDCPA law) usefull website for more information.

8am calls in the morning for the past week I finally answerred the phone to see whats up. They have the wrong person. Gave me a lame a** address that I don't know where its at. Person was "very sorry" for the calls and I told him thats what the S.O.B. told me last year I gave him the lasr 4 of my soc. and its not the person t they are looking for. Damn pond scum dwellers company.   ,,!..

For the last several months I have received this annnoying call on a nearly daily basis asking for a "Michelle A Reamers." I have repeatedly punched #4 stating that this person is in no way related to the people at this address.  The calls keep coming!!

We were getting two or three calls from them daily, and the vast majority of the time it was a recording; occasionally it would be a person who would hang up. I followed the steps other people mentioned and the calls stopped after about 6 days.

Company keeps calling looking for an individual who this number does not belong to. I have requested at least 5 times to be removed and the calls continue.

Keep getting calls with no message left.  They just called at 8:00 AM today central daylight time and no message.
