How glad I did a lil research and now viewing all the comments...I received a call just now from a MR. Cummings...same threatning message as you all have gotten.....I called the # back and spoke with a Vanessa saying about a payday loan and ask if i could pay 50.00 today...I said no and I told her that I am aware of scammers out there and I ask for the name of this company...she said DTA Group and gave me her direct ext.....please...I told her I was writing everything down.....She tried to sound legit but I knw this is a scam and after reading all the same comments....It really is.

Called, but did not answer until I was hanging up--then indicated that I or my lawyer should call a certain number. I hung up before the call was completed.  I have never had a Pay Day Loan and am debt free--don't know why they are harassing an old person. . . ?

Voice mail message from a blocked call telling me that "documents will be served" at my "place of employment" is I or my attorney do not call 866-262-6531.

Here is a list of numbers that will call harassing the crap out of you & they NEVER leave a message!! They will call from one number & when you do not answer, they will hang up & call you right back from another number they use. STOP WASTING MY MINUTES TO MY CELL!!!!!!!

A lot of these I have found out come from job sites one may have gotten online with looking for work & even though you check for them not to call you regarding further education, they will do it anyhow!!!!!!!! STOP CALLING ME PEOPLE!!!!!!! I AM NOT INTERESTED!!!!!!!!!!! I NEVER AGREED TO RECEIVE THESE CALLS FROM YOU NOR WILL I EVER TAKE YOUR CALL!!!!! I am an elderly person with bad health issues & will hold you responsible if anything happens to me due to your harassment! Thank you.

I don't know who, what or why you keep calling my phone but wish you would STOP!!!!!!!!! I do not know this number or the others you use but I WILL NOT answer a number I do not know!! Now!!!! You seem to know so much about me & all, then contact my attorney!!!  BUT STOP HARASSING ME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Mr. Thomas called me, and I called back (704-206-1252) and said:
You are in violation of the Federal Dept. Collection Act. Google it!
Mr. Thomas is a scam artist and should be put behind bars.
I am given you a direct order not to call again.

So they called using an unknown number.

Same call... i called back mr.c said he was comming to my house. I told him i would be here.waited all day .   (Ball bat at door....
Iwas goimg to give him something to think about.....call before that he was going to take my drivers license        (like he could) he called today same song and dance. Who ever he is he nees to get a real  job.. he is a wuzz

Let me fill you in on my experiences with this so called DTA Debt Collection company. I think I went three rounds, first it was Mr. Cummings. I work all day and turn my cell phone off during the day. I also, for the convenience of avoiding his nuisance call, work long hours. His messages are all the as everyone mentioned here. No details, all very generic, and call me or I will serve you legal paper. Gives me that 866 number to call back. Well after a while Mr. Cummings stopped calling and Ms. Martin took over. She was a lot less polite about the situation. Her messages seemed more menacing. I guess she was the "big dog" enforcer that could get me to roll. I had retained an attorney to help me restore my credit matters and gave the attorney's Ms. Martins information. My attorney made contact asking for what the debt was and wanted to settle it. Ms. Martin has not responded to my lawyer in the allotted 30 days or more by this point. Wouldn't you know it ... Mr. Cummings is back on my phone. So now I will hand his information over to my attorney and see if he really does have a claim. This is so tiring .... This is only my assessment of what they may be doing but I am thinking that they may let the first 30 day window go to near term and then swap out the collector to restart another 30 day period they have to respond. And when Ms. Martin hits her 30 days, I will get Mr. Cummings again to restart the next 30 days. All I want is a statement of what I owe and then to work out a deal both sides are happy with. I want to pay the debts I owe ... legitimately. All this has really screwed with my ability to buy a house for my family. Anyways, I wanted to share my experiences with "DTA" and "Mr.Cummings" and the lovely "Ms.Martin". Hope this helps others in some way!!!

Got another call from this same number 1.5 hours later than the time I posted the last message. Same threatening message. It is a recorded message, it is a Mr. Cummings no company identified. Stating he is going to serve me at my place of business or home. He does not refer to me by name and this is a recorded message.

I received the same call from the same 704 number. Then the message says to call the 866 number. I believe this man said he was Mr. Thomas, could be Cummings. They do not address me by name and have no information. This man is threatening. I don't answer number I do not recognize. Also DTA can be anything.

I keep getting phone calls from 704-206-1252 and 866-532-8631 from Mr. Cummings at DTA. they say that I owe two separate pay day loans and i've never even had a pay day loan. they threatened to come to serve papers at my home or my work.  i hung up on them and blocked them on my cellphone

I got a call today from DTA. Since I didn't recognize the number, I didn't answer. I couldn't retrieve the voice message so I called back and got a recording talking about legal action and either I or a lawyer should call back. It also didn't say my name. I looked up the number online and found this website. There should be way to track these people and make them stop. Who knows how many people might've been scammed because they were scared and didn't know better.

I received another call from the infamous Mr Cummings. He is fishing for some free money I reckon but my phone doesn't even ring any more. ;-) I love cell phones, you can block any number. If iahd time I would do some research and find HIS location then call him and tell i'm flying up to North Carolina tomorrow and look him up! hehehe

I have received several calls from this number. He is stating that a bill is outstanding however he is not able to produce the bill. If the company was legit there should be some sort of paperwwork about it. I will not call back nor will I answer until I receive some sort of paperwork other than a threat.

This is a switchboard. The message from Mr. Cummings is recorded. He never asks for anyone and he makes a threat about coming to the home or place of employment. Then he hangs up.

I receive a call from Mr. Cummings at least 3 times a day.  He threatens me with a lawsuit for bank fraud!  he also threatens to serve papers at my place of employment or at my home.  i have called back and asked my phone number to be removed from their call rotation but the calls keep on coming.  I may have to change my number!

Today I myself received a call from Mr. Cummings and yes he is threatening to send a letter to my employer and he doesn't even know my name! Most business related phone calls basically state the name of the person they want talk to in any legal formality and sure don't know how Mr. Cummings got my personal cellphone and this is the 6th phone call I have received by him, I just want him to stop!

Hello I'm getting the same messages on my phone, do not have any idea who this person is & reason for
calling. Get these calls just about everyday. Mr cummings with DTA Group. Threaten to send letters to my employment.

Mr Cummings just left the exact same message he left the rest of you! I'm really tired of these people and companies like them calling and trying to extort money! Is there anything I can do to stop the calls and get them in legal troubles?! I believe in karma! Thanks!

Same jerk called again. Mr CUmmings with "DTA Group" or something like that. I have blocked his number so his recording lleaves a voice mail and I don't call the joker back.

Scam He said I scheduled to pay a bill on the 5th of dec for a payday loan, I said I do not remember that I only remember I do not do payday loans so he just said have a good day I said I will have a good day reporting you.

I get about 3 phone calls a day from this guy.  And it's the same name as what Rich said above, Mr. Cummings.  He gave me a different # to call back at though 866-514-4583.  His voicemails are clear and he threatens to have me served with legal documents at either my home or place of work if I do not call him back or have my attorney call him back.  He never uses my name or any info as to what i'm supposed to call him back for. I don't plan on calling him back because i'm 99% sure it's spam but i'm getting tired of the calls.  He says he's from a company called the ETA Group as well.  If you don't know my name then stop calling me!!

I just received another call from thgis jerk. Still doesn't know my name! ;-) Have heard anything since my last post back in Oct 25. I guess he has a robot caller.
