The DNC list was taken by companies and sent overseas where it can't be enforced.

The phone companies have no liability for these calls and therefore no incentive to stop them. A simple computer verification of a number being from where it says would be enough (cells are harder to track) but could stop these scammers. The phone companies of the world tried to take back the control of the internet in a secret meeting in December.

i got this call at 10:30am PST  today n i'm with Wind Mobile and did not like getting woken up by a false phone call

I didn't answer it....and I found out that the number is not in service!!!!!!   So it a fraud company.  705 543-3566 is not a number that is in service!!!!!!

Yeah I never picked up when these guys called - from what some of the others have said though it definitely sounds like scammers/thieves/fraudsters (of the dumb as nails variety of course) trying to get ur credit card info - I called them back too - confirmed: number's not in service when you call them - I think they're using one of those "phreaker boxes" to send the wrong caller ID - they just picked a number that's not in service as their dummy number to send when they call someone who has CID

Just rec'd the call from this number 7055433566, said i was entered to win $25,000. Mentioned the word Publisher something or other  (But not Publishers clearing house)  said I had good standing with magazine subscriptions - never ordered one in the past 20 years...  and then because I didn't want to order a magazine wanted to set me up with a free $100.00 Petro Canada card.... I said ok, then as she was transferring me to the 'supervisor' I hung up.  Damn scammers

Its not your provider, I am with rogers and get them... Usually it is because you signed up for something or typed your information in for an online order and then your information was hacked or sold.
Best to tell them to remove you from their list so they stop calling, thats the only way they stopped calling me.

They've called me twice now and won't answer whenever we try to call back. We have an unlisted number in bc..I thought it was weird and possibly something important so I'm glad I googled it.

I am getting calls from this number everyday.  When I answer they just hang up.  This has become harassing as my mum has a 705 area and is in poor health.   I worried about her for over a week (as I could not reach her at the time) til I finally figured out this number is actually a scam. This has gotto stop immediately .

I've been getting this number calling and hanging up as soon as I answer for months. Recently, another number (778 from BC) has started calling about some Disney vacation I won.

Had this number call me this morning, didn't answer it because for the last 4 days I've gotten calls from random numbers at exactly 10:30am. The first time I answered a woman with a Southern US accent told me I won a trip to Florida. I listened up until she said they needed a credit card number for a rental car then I Hung up. This is the first time I've seen other people getting calls from one of the same numbers.

Hahaha!! Nice one! I just hung up on her mid sentence after she asked me about credit card stuff.

I answered: "can you hold for a sec let me check the number you are calling me with online"

Just received a call from this #. Saying I have been entered to win $25,000.00. she spoke with an asian accent. Wanted to know what credit cards I have, and which I prefer. Wanted my birthdate. Said something about publications (I don't subscribe to any magazines or book clubs). Told her I still wasn't sure who I was speaking with and no thanks, have a nice day. Then I hung up.

this 705 area code is ontario, canada. got call also and no message left. all of a sudden getting a number of these calls with no message left from different phone numbers - be careful - DO NOT ANSWER these calls. Likely SCAMS

I got the exact same call today &  yes the girl was very was hard to understand and had a very annoying ring to her voice. I said I'm at work now , dont have time.. send me what you want say in a letter.. you DO have all my information and that is how you got my number, right?????

Igot a call from this number.  My husband answered and they wanted to know if Heather Osbak was within.  Strange.   So I called back the number and it said the number has been disconnected.  Apparently doesn't take incoming calls.
