Actually, these spammers probably browse through entire ranges of phone numbers and send their garbage to everyone within that range.

From what I see, the best way is to report the SMS by forwarding it to 7726 - which works fine with several Canadian carriers. I think some carriers will refund the cost of your SMS when you report spam...

I received the same message on Feb. 10th and did not respond until tonight while I was out, simply by saying he has the wrong person.  After I tried to text a friend, and it still hasn't gone through.  I hope to God that this did not screw up my texting ability.  I'm serviced through Bell, and have never had a problem with any SPAM being sent via text messages.  I am not impressed at all!!!!  Not sure if I should simply delete this message now, or visit a Bell representative, to show him this in the event that I am still unable to send or receive text messages? Does anyone have any suggestions???

i have a pc cell and my provider is bell thanks iv got this call 2 times now and not only am i pisted off im on pay as you go ? so that text still coas me money answering or not ?  my numbers untisted by the way some time it not only being bought its also dissgruntal empolys taken call list and selling for extra money too....wow that a losser with a problme that needs to get fixed quikly ....

What a load of crap!!!! I recieved the same messege at 9:40pm on feb 14th and just knowing the problems and misunderstanding this must be causing for alot of poeple makes me sick to my guts and I`m just glad that being single means I won`t be going through such problems,but talk about a set up for disaster,especially considering the fact that I got this text on valentines day,and I`m with fido,and don`t even have a clue as to how to fix the problem??????

Obviously a scam. I hadn't even had my Brand new from the box cell from Bell when I got this text. The number hasn't even been active for 24 hrs! Thankful it didn't come at 2AM like some....

I got the same message today.  The caller may be simply going through ALL phone number combinations in sequence; probably doesn't have a list...

I got a text from a 403 397 6259 saying the same thing, at 2330 tonight.

I am wondering if there is anyway to find out "how or who" sold our cell phone numbers.  I got the same message, and thanks to this I have now been kicked out of my house, my wife is at the lawyers and wants me to come in and sign papers.  THANKS ALOT!!!!! Someone has to get to the botton of this.  Thank god I found this site I am just hoping she will beleive me now....

Well I guess I have Telus to thank for this crap.  My husband received the message for the website CAcasuals .com at 2am in the morning and now I have received the exact one a week later.  Obviously Telus has sold a list with our numbers on it

Same here a random text at 12:33 AM saying to go to the website CAcasuals.com and my husband accused me of being on a dating site for a minute before he read it and thought it through. Not sure how they got my cell number I only use it for close friends and family.

Well needless to say the same text was sent to my 13 year old daughter's cell phone @ 1:30 am,  and I am now one pissed off momma,    glad it's spam and not a real pervert that I can get my hands on because they would be dead.  It's bad enough that we get spam email,  but seriously... spam texts??  what happened to PRIVACY,  and people only having your phone number if you GIVE it too them,  not have it automatically circulated!  boy am I PISSED!!
