I too received a voice mail from Mark and at first couldn't place the name but called him back anyway. Turns out someone had given him my name in reference to a position he was working on as they are a recruitment outfit. We spoke briefly I checked out their website which needs a bit of updating if I'm honest and sent my resume.  Cut a long story short the job/company was a fit and I will be joining my new employer in 2012.

I talked to Mark today and nothing in my brief conversation with him seemed non- authentic. Of course these days we have to be careful, however he did not request from me anything suspicious and when I mentioned that I was not interested in the opportunity he did not push or tried to make up my mind. Hopefully this can help.

This is the President of www.kngtechnical.com We are a high technology search firm. Mark Smith is a High technology consultant and has been here for 6 years. If you have received a message from Mark, it's because he has been referred to you by someone who thinks you might benefit from an opportunity. He does not leave this detailed because A) many voice mails are not secure B) are listened to on speaker C), and above all, could come off as telemarketing which he/we are not.
We are engaged and retained by world class companies to find the best of the untapped talent and the best way to start a dialog securely is via this medium. I'm at ext.221 should you want to inquire further.

Same thing, Mark Smith from KNG.  I decided to call him back.  He was a nice guy and didn't try to pressure me into changing jobs.  I was worried he might since his voice mail was light on the details, but he is OK.

Agreed, KNG Technical.  They found my name & work number and knew my job history.  Tried to say someone from one of my previous employers referred me, but "couldn't remember their name."
