This is actually a Debt Collector, I called it back and the machine says Asset Acceptance.  What sucks about these guys is they don't leave any messages so we don't know who they are or what they want.

someone called from this number on my cell phone. I was in a meeting and had the call forwarded to my voicemail. No message was left and they called right back so I answered it and they did not respond there was only silence. then I hung up becuase I don't have time for this bs.

Just pick it up... tell them its not you. They they won't call again. Simple.

started getting a recorded phone call every day.at least once a day...... a couple of months ago...never a human voice..........never a voice to talk with.....collection agency? yes......do not want this caller to keep calling my number. yet i have no option..i just hang up.

Just called them and yeah, told them the number and they deleted it from there database.
Just call them and have them remove you.

Same frekkin thing happened to me right now.
I answered, there was silence but then a ringing tone began (like I was transfered and it was ringing the line) and I freaked out and hung up LOL!

They've called dozens of times and leave no messages.

Asset. Acceptance, I only know that from calling the number back.
When I answered the call there was no reply, just silence and then they hung up.
I have no idea what they want or who they are.

This number called me...I answered and got nothing but silence.

Yes, I get a few calls every day from this number. (and others)

Mik - I believe it is illegal for them to call cell phones for that but I am not sure at this point. Telemarketing to cell phones is a violation.

Grandmom Hoover - It may be good to check your credit report in order to tell that there are no surprise accounts there. Once a year you can review your reports at each agency at no charge and correct any errors. You can order your free annual credit report online at www.annualcreditreport.com, or by calling 1-877-322-8228.  Beware of imposter sites advertised in magazines, televsion, websites, etc. Many charge a fee for a "watch" and some just want to "phish" your info.  

Ms Hoover, they may be calling about someone who has an account in your name!

They called at 2:15pm. They did not leave a message.

We keep getting calls from this agency, even though we do not owe
any money to any other agency that would have a reason to refer us
to a collection agency. We believe that they have our number is
error for someone else. But this agencies, as we know, their employes
are below the treshold of dumbness, with maybe a first grade education.
