I have gotten numerous calls from these people.  At first I thought it was a recording with my name inserted.....they have left me 3 messages in the past 5 weeks.  The first was 5 weeks ago, then the 2nd this AM then the 3rd about 2 hours ago.  They have called from and left 3 different numbers to call them back on.....they are 646-918-5094, 707-985-8474 & 213-995-3041.  The person leaving the message sounds to be Chinese maybe with a horrible thick accent that is very difficult to understand.  Each time he has left the message he is saying that my name is named in a fraudulant lawsuit and that if I don't call them back IMMEDIATELY they will come from the court house and arrest me, my co-signer and my boss....wtf?  I have no idea how these people even got my information?  He also at the end of his "message" says if you don't call me back then all I can say is good luck or my favorite GOD BLESS!  These people are crazy scammers!  All i can say is DON'T confirm any information with them.  All they need is your name, DOB & SS # and they have your identity!
Good luck everyone....glad to hear I am NOT the only one this is happening to.  I thought I was going crazy trying to figure out what was going on and WHY would I be arrested for a crime I didn't commit. I have had a SINGLE speeding ticket in my life! I don't even know what the inside of a jail looks like other than what I have seen on TV!

I received a phone call at my office from this number asking if I had an attorney. The woman spoke with a foreign accent and this is all I could really make of the conversation at first.
I asked her to repeat herself and she said this is in regards to a crime.  Did I have an attorney? I responded by saying " huh?" and "in regards to what?"  She said a crime.  I didn't understand. She said you must get back to me at 707-985-8474 then she hung up.  Why would I need to call her back if she called me?

She also left a voice message in my cell phone threatening that I owe money and if I don't call back, the case will be going to Grand Jury.  Whoever this is, I am waiting for a phone call back because I work for an attorney, and I will turn them in to authorities.

I just got a call from these people earlier today. They called my cell and my work number. I work for an attorney so I can't wait till they call back, if they do.  I was wrecking my brain to try to understand what crime I could have committed. I don't commit crimes.

Great idea. I will let them know that I have been in touch with my Lawyer about the harassing phone call next time. This is the second call in 2 weeks on my work phone. I was a little worried the first time but the called a second time with a new story. The beg tell for me was he was claiming to call from the state attorneys office... I live in Utah how can the state attorneys office be a California number...

Ya just got off the phone with some guy with the same story. Says he is calling from the state attorneys office and wants me to call an out of state number??? How stupid do you think I am?

I just keep calling the number back with my number blocked and nobody ever answers... I'll stay with it.

This is a scam, I work in the 707 and within law enforcement. Please practice good common sense and just advise them you've been in touch with the law, that should at least slow them down.

Just received the same type of phone call from this guy who sounds foreign and claims his name is Austin Stevens...WTF....(Really)???? Lmao..... I  do hope to hear that these idiots go down or get struck by lightening when using there magic jacks, computers or phones and hope that the only lawyer he will be talking to, is his own to help him get out of jail. He threatened me as well under the same terms.

i got a call from a woman from this number saying the same thing i told them of the officer that i am in contact with in manhattan. this whole thing sounds like a scare tactic from the terrorist.

this is bull s***... my attorney said these morons use magic jacks n r pulling off a scam.....  bunch of jerks... pay no heat to em.....

This company will call, tell you that there is a legal action against you, the scary part is they have all your information.  Social Security, D of B, Address.  No idea how they got it but they do.  He even asked if I had been to jail.  Very intimidated, which for me isn't easily done, scary!

When they called me yesterday they left a message saying if I or my attorney didnt get back to them then "good-luck".  I did call back.  The guy that answered.....without even asking me any information....started talking about a lawsuit against me on a payday loan that I had defaulted on. I said I have no idea what your talking about.  He wanted to verify all my information & asked me if I had ever been to jail before.  I told him no.....he said something back to me that I couldn't understand then hung up on me.  I was shaking!  I was terrified!  He had my SS#, phone number, date of birth, sounded official.  I am glad to hear that it is NOT for REAL!  
I thought for a minute someone had stolen my identity.

This is a scam. They say you owe a loan and they are collecting some of the money and writing off the rest. If you dont pay they will arrest you. I called the guy back and said "where are you from" and he said " in your va**na" only he didnt say va**na if you know what I mean. Someone needs to put a stop to these foreign free loader scum suckers!!!!
