This spoofed number appears to be the longest running number used by the "card services" scammers! It's surprising, as they usually make up phoney numbers more often.

That's what I do. You can get them from any sports equiptment store and even some Wal-mart. I wish I could see the look on their faces when we do that. :)

Would it work, I don't know. But I DO know the method I use has eliminated their calls.Google my name and try it for yourself. I get no more calls' and it's fun doing it!

Another "No Name" call to my cell 11:39 a.m. 1/25/13.  Didn't recognize # so didn't answer.  And, of course, no message left.

Tired of receiving calls from various phone numbers.  They hang up on you if you tell them to take you off their list.

I keep getting calls from this number, 5 or 6 times a day sometimes.

The end doesn't justify the means. The people making the calls know FULL WELL what is going on and they choose to work for crooks, and that makes them crooks. When the crooked owners call, they will get an earful. In the meantime, when the crooked clowns who work for them call, they will have to deal with the inevitable abuse. And it's only going to get worse because peopls are sick of being pestered by crooks trying to rip us off on the phone.

I don't care if you're a single mom or Henry Kissinger ... if you call strangers for a living you're a piece of scum and will be treated accordingly.

I got yet another call from "Rachael, with Card Holder Services" who promised me good news about reducing my credit card rates.  I thought I was finally off the hook because for a few weeks I got zero calls.  Now I'm getting 10 or more per day.

I answered, pressed "1" so that I could waste their time (the only way to make them feel any pain).  Someone quickly picked up, but then hung up almost as quickly.

They are probably single moms on minimum wages making those calls and they have a quota of calls to meet everyday, please be kind. The real jerks at the head of such scams are never on the phone themselves.

$25,000 reward for information leading to the location and origin of these calls. $5000 now and the rest when the job is complete. Am glad they dont all call on the same day. Seems it's the same shysters changing their number every month and calling the same list all over again.

I have gotten over 2 dozen calls on my cellphone from this number in the last couple months. I ignored them first, then I started pressing *1* per their instructions to get lower interest rates. No matter how nicely I ask them to quit calling, they hang up on me EVERY time.

It was a woman on the phone asking me if I want to lower my interest rate and I said yes. She asked me if I have 3,000 debt and I said yes. Than I asked her how did she found me and she hang up. I called back to the number and sound like a cellphone and a voicemail was full. It is defiantly a scam, real credit card companies or someone who wants to help u come out of debt will not hang up on you. I will be blocking the number.

Got an unsolicited call from 708 417 2636.  Figured it's a telemarketer.  Picked up but nobody said anything on the other end of the line, and then the call was dropped a few seconds later.

Recorded msg. said to press 1 to speak with a rep. to lower my credit card rate. There was no option to be removed from the calling list.

When the live person answered with a question, not even identifying herself, I immediately asked, "Which credit card company am I speaking with?" At that point I was immediately disconnected.

When I pressed 1 and asked which credit card of mine they were asking about, the hung up on me.  Never answered a call again with a number I don't recognize.  I don't have Citibank, so it shouldn't be them.  

I think the idea of putting them in your address books as JUNK is great!  So far I've been called by 10 different numbers - I didn't answer, just googled the number when I got the calls.

You are Naive.  It is a scam.  I get the calls all the time and have NO credit card debt and my credit card is not with Citi Financial or any of its affiliates

Frankly, I would guess that this scum company is buying a list from companies of anyone who is either in a financial hardship or have recently paid a bill a little late.    They prey upon people who are having a hard time and just might be gullible enough to give out personal information because they hope to get out of the financial mess they are in.   The fact that we look up the numbers, most if not all of the people on this board are smart enough not to fall for this trick.   But several do.   I dont know what is more effective, a loud noise into the phone when they are in the middle of their speech.... giving them false information and getting them to stay on the phone as long as possible, thus wasting their time..... not answering.... or reporting them to the DNC or FCC.   I can not say that any one of the methods is any more effective than the other.    I have reported them to the DNC and FCC and yet I have gotten three calls from different numbers today alone.   But they all seem to have the same recording.... so it is the same scam, if not the same company.   It does not seem to stop the calls.    I have tried the air horn thing... but the problem with that is most of the time when I get the phone calls, I am at a place that making the loud noise in the phone would be innappropriate or inconvenient, like work..... or at a store.   You cant very well let an air horn off in the middle of the library just because these scum bags call constantly.   I kind of like the idea of wasting their time, but in return, it wastes mine and it also eats up my cell phone minutes.  

I have noticed that I did not start getting these calls until I was a little behind on a bill or two.   When my credit was perfect, I was not getting these calls.   But as soon as I was a little behind, or my credit card balances started heading up, I started getting these calls.  So my guess is, that either the credit bureaus ( Experian, Equifax or Transunion) are selling the information of the people that are behind or have lower credit scores ( this includes little or no credit history for those of you who do not have credit cards).... or that your debtors are selling your information to these scum bags if you are behind, making minimum only payments, or are in default).  

I expect these calls to get worse over the next few months.

BTW..... I got a magic jack phone the other day.   I now use the number for that for EVERYTHING.   The only people that get my  number are the ones that I want to have it ( Friends and family).   I am going to switch my phone number on my cell phone.  I am hoping that this at least cuts down if not ends these phone calls.

this number appeared on my cellphone missed call log.. Glad I was busy and couldn't answer.  Fyi you can add up to 5 numbers to be blocked on your cellphone acct for up to 90 days.  I will be adding this one to that list. (i would love to use an airhorn to answer also)

Why can't this unidentified callers be stopped  they are very annoying.  When you answer they never talk back  I normally don't answer
but I was hoping it was one of those that ask you   1- to talk to a customer service

Cardmember Services...scam to get your CC info...they've been calling me since Nov. 2011.  I tried reporting them to the FCC in the beginning, then just started creating a 'blocked' call contact...now I'm also using Call Control app to add them to a 'black list"...i've been deal with this crap for over a year.  Its so annoying
