This guy sent me an email claiming to be from Texas and saying that I have a lot of unpaid loans out
He started naming off a bunch of loans from online and I said I had never gotten a loan from those places and hr said I would need to hire an attorney so I asked h I m how much all the loans were and he wouldn't answer me. He then said I needed to get it figured out and he hung up on me. I tried calling back but no answer and then it would just beep like I was going to leave a message. The number that was left for me was 7865057875. I am pretty sure this is the same guy using a different number to scam people now and it makes me really uncomfortable

Just curious ... did any of you start getting these calls after purchasing Minecraft?  I purchased it for my sons.  Within 8 hours I started getting loads of unwanted and similar scam calls, this being just one of them.  Wondering if the Mojang people are selling personal information and if so, to whom.

Keeps calling at all hours of the day. Making threats and saying good luck to you. Wtf? I hope they rot where in their third world country trying to scam a single mother working two jobs that doesn't know how to buy their kid a birthday present...bottom feeders!

I had a guy call from California at 530 am telling me that I was being sued.  He said he was calling from the Attorney Generals office of California.  He did not speak english very well. I told him that I would contact the California Attorney myself. He wanted a credit card or a checking account number. Did not give him anything. And he kept calling back. BEWARE!!!

i have gotten calls all day from these people.. state attorneys office of california....marvin watson, then transferred to my worker mike/michael anderson which then ended with his supervisor kevin peterson...they called me at worked...i was so heated about this call and upset this went on for about an hour...now another person is calling me from some law office Chelsea and Nicholas Law firm out of New York 516.302.1077..its a lady this time...she swore i would be arrested tomorrow by 11am on my job and they even had my ss#...omg! its like what to do...im calling the authorities though

I keep getting calls and emails for a Melvin Jones. Usually they have been about some shady online loan thing. This morning it was a heavily accented guy again, claiming to be from the California State Attorney's office! They left a voicemail also, so I have that. These guys need to stopped!

I got a call from this Mike Anderson of this District Attorneys office almost for an entire month but they he was calling to speak to someone who didnt own the phone and then tried to leave threats on my voicemail.  I contacted the person who they asked for on my phone and did a conference call and this man was able to give my friend her ssn info and everything else and then he threatened her. These scammers need to be stopped. I have located the person through longitude and latitude and locators and found information and for those of you  who were victimized or are being victimized like my friend I hope all goes well with you

I too got a call from this number.  I knew immediately it was a scam because of the fact he was threatening me with being arrested and sent to jail for a debt.  Sorry buddy....that generally happen in the USA...maybe in India..but not here. Anyways, filed a report with the FTC, local police and put a fraud alert on my personal information. Sadly they have both my cell and work number...I hope they just give up.

I received a call just a few moments ago, "Lisa Brown" left a message. I could barely understand her so I just called back and it keeps ringing than someone answers and hangs up right away, I called back a few more tines and than the same thing. I'm happy I found this post and I now know to ignore the call.

Got ten calls in 30 min .. Then when i answered couldn't understand what the man was saying he gets mad so hung up . Now im gettin calls every min . Help

A client called me this morning telling me that a Mark Anderson called wanting to talk about his legal matter that I am currently handling.  He told my client that he was with the District Attroney's office.  This "Anderson" person left the # 714-276-0734.  I called the number to find out what this person wanted.  "Mr. Anderson" answered with a thick Indian accent.   I told him why I was calling and informed him that I am an attorney.  He immediately became hostile and asked for my bar number which I gave him.  I then asked for his bar number and he hung up.  I will be reporting this to the District Attorney's Office today.

This is a criminal extortion scam operating out of India. They are making the calls utilizing VOIP and the names of legitimate firms to make it appear the calls are originating from within the US. There is NO "company" or "debt" and you will NOT be arrested. They are harvesting and/or buying consumers' personal identifying information from unscrupulous websites like the one you may have filled out an application with, and you need to do whatever you can to protect yourself. This includes: Notifying the FTC: https://www.ftccomplaintassistant.gov/, placing fraud alerts with all three credit bureaus, notifying your bank and employer and letting these criminals know you are aware they are attempting to extort money for a non-existent debt and have alerted the authorities.

I got a call from this number stating that they was an attorneys office and I was being sued but didn't give me the attorneys office name or what I was being sued for.

This needs to stop! Obviously they are affecting many ppl all over the country. These people need to be stopped. That's all there is to it.

The same thing happened to me. They Ben started calling my place if employment. This is ridiculous!

This Man has called my home and work now over 40 times saying he is an attorney's office and that I am being sued for a loan.....I never got a loan from anyone or asked for one....No money was put into my bank account by anyone...I have told them specifically not to call my job...Kelly the receptionist is tired of recieving phone calls from them and they call my home 10 times a day 7 days a week....Mike Anderson calls and a Man who says his name is Nick Carter over over and over....The one named Mike said he was gonna have me fired from my job....I am totally being harrassed to the point of having anxiety attacks over this how do you get them to stop calling...they are using fake names because they are from a foreign country....The owner of my company has even told them to stop calling and they won't....I'm afraid they have my banking information...so i have notifed my bank and it will be flagged if my account is being tampered with......These people are criminals and need to be stopped!!!!

Scam.  Guy named "Marvin" with a heavy accent called for one of my employees.  Sounded shady so I researched the number and found this board.  Tried calling him back several times to give him Hell, but they just hang up.  
Don't EVER just assume you owe someone money - protect yourself and research the number!  If you're not near a computer, then give a little resistance over the phone or tell them you'll have your attorney, (even if you don't have one) will get in touch with them.  When it's a scam, they will become angry and rude, or threaten you with jail, etc.  No legitimate business will behave this way...when they do, inform them that you're reporting their number to the FBI and hang up - that will usually stop them from calling you again.

*As a side note, if you'd like to have a little fun with them AND tie up their line a little, set a fax machine to send a blank sheet of paper to the phone number and make sure the settings have the machine redial the number repeatedly until a connection is made.  It's not a fax line, so the connection will NEVER be made. (Don't do this from your work!)

I got a call today from someone saying they are from the attorneys office. The first guy I talked to a Mike Andrews said I had to pay 645.00 within the hour. He said he would transfer me to resolution department and I talked to a very rude Julian Marshall.He said i had to pay 345.00 in the hour or I was going to jail. I explained I was at work and he started yelling at me saying he didn't care I had to have it by 9:00 am.He said I could not write a check or use my debit card. He told me I had to go to giant eagle to get a prepaid visa. he then told me when I got to the parking lot I had to call him before I went in.I called someone that is a state police and he said it was a scam. when Julian called back I told him and he started yelling and said I will see and they are coming to pick me up.I feel so sorry for those people that were so scared they went and paid him.

They called my husband at his work number! He called me, and I foundthis website. He said that it was a woman with an Asian accent. She told him the same story about being arrested that others are posting about. Said he has 3 outstanding warrants. When he called the 276# back, and asked for Mike Andosa or Mike Mendosa like she told him to, the guy said he couldnot help him when he wouldnt give his personal info.

he call me so many times,if you're one of those people who only bothers tell him to stop calling and you already reported his phone with the fbi,and it stops calling you. I did it.

I too got this message I called him, then he said his peace. But hear is the kicker I recorded the whole thing and man let me say this.  He called me a mother F, an so an so. I called him 56 times through out the day. Got him saying that yes a***ace it is a scam and what are you goiing to do about it.  He the kicker for the second time I due reports on fraud, but he said he was going to spread my info and such. Now I can not even get through to that number.  Lets hope he changes that number or quites because I won't.

This guy just told me "okay then you can just wait for the sheriffs..... i can't even understand him.

I received a call from this number @ 7:12 this morning. That is BS. Then I checked to see where area code 714 was. It's a CA number. No way they would be calling PA at that hour. Scam!!
