I thought Hyundai MF company was bad calling me at 8 am but I am pretty sure it is against the law for them to call someone at 5am. Check with your lawyer.
I understand the rules when you sign your name to on a contract, we are obligated to pay up till every last penny is paid. But what I don't understand is how these banks are given bail outs, and lend out money they never had.
On top of it, these banks/financial intitutions already have got their money from the FDIC.
Perhaps if they quit charging double the interest (my car was 10,000 I ended up paying 20,000 and still owe 3500.00 plus interest from a deferred payment which increases daily till paid) then just maybe I would believe I am obligated to pay them. They already got the 10,000 plus another 10,000 from me. This is all after the timing belt broke 4 days after the warranty expired!!! And I had to pay 2000,00 to get the engine replaced! The car turned out to be a piece of junk they double charged me for. And now they are still calling me.
I surrendered the car and they still keep calling me.

This is also the number for the lease-end team. They start calling about 3 months before your lease is up and god forbid you don't return their calls (I don't answer numbers I don't know!) They always just want to "check in" to see if you've made any decisions about what you are going to do with your vehicle and set up appointments for the vehicle inspection.

It is illegal for them to call you before 8 AM. They were calling my number as well, looking for the prior owner of the telephone number I have had since August. They called me at 6:40 am and 11:00 am one day, when I told them the person they are looking for doesn't have this number.  Idiots called me again at 6:20 am the following morning and several times after.

The exact same thing happened to me! I was waiting for it to come through the mail and it never came. When I called about it, it was too late. This makes me wonder if it's all strategic. Either way, it's horrible business.  I will NEVER finance through them again.

It is actually illegal for them to call you before 8 AM or after 9 PM. I was getting calls from them as well (6:20 am and 6:40 am) for the prior owner of my home telephone number, despite telling them that person no longer had this number and had not had it since at least the end of last August, when I got it from Vonage. Document and get a consumer law attorney.

It's Hyundai Finance Co.  Unknown to me they took me off my 5 year auto debit plan just before my last car
payment and didn't tell me.  I was lied to re: "customer service is closed," (before closing time)," repeated calls without leaving
messages does not constitute harassment; there are exceptions to the FCC regulations in several states,
including CA, that enable us to do so; we can't leave any message due to the privacy act."  I was then blamed for
not checking my bank to assure that auto debit was working and for not calling them as I was nearing the end of my
payments.  At one point I tired of her interrupting me, talking over me and raising her voice and I responded in kind.
When she stopped for breath I said, "this isn't working; I'm filing a complaint," and I hung up.  Other sources advised me
to file a complaint with Hyundai's Consumer Affairs Dept., at 800-633-5151, which I did.  I'm also filing a complaint with
the Federal Communications Commission because such repeated calls constitute harassment, and that's a federal offense.
PLEASE DEAL WITH THESE FOLKS THRU THESE OTHER SOURCES, AS THIS WILL AFFECT YOUR CREDIT.
I sent a check, minus the late charge, with a letter detailing theses facts via certified mail, return receipt requested.  It's
important to leave a paper trail that clearly shows you acted responsibly.

You do have legal recourse.  They are not allowed to call you outside of set hours (I believe the set hours are 9 am to 8 pm, but double check that.  5:30 am is way outside the set hours)  You can get a consumer advocate attorney for free if they continuously harass you and you have proof of it.  The attorney gets paid by the offenders, not their clients (you) so it's totally worth hiring one.  You may even get punitive damages in addition to any losses you incurred because of the harassment.

File a complaint with the California Attorney General's office. That will put a total stop to any further harassment.

I feel your pain!  I will NEVER finance a car from Kia again.  I to have struggled with the constant harassing phone calls even though I had made payment arrangements.  I lost my job in January of this year and was unemployed for 4 months, and they could have cared less.  Made it practically impossible for me to get a break, like an extension.  I asked for an extension and instead of having the application faxed, I asked them to mail it instead, and well you know, someone didn't mail it, and when I called to check on it, yep, it was to late to file the extension.  These kind of games with these people for the last 6 months!  I am going to get rid of this car ASAP and deal with someone else!

I totally agree. They kept calling me and weren't leaving any messages, so I looked up the number. We were late before because my husband lost his job and they didn't care. They say to call to make payment arrangements, there arrangement is, "Will you be paying with a credit or debit card?" I don't know how they got my work number probably from when we got the car and they had to verify I was working but they kept calling me at work, which I'm not supposed to get calls at work. I told them to stop calling me there but they didn't.

Report all these calls to the FTC and its possible all these calls can be turned over to a attorney as well for harassment and violation of the TCPA..  Keep a record of every call and every attempt to get a hold of a supervisor and that you told them repeatedly to stop.

These people are relentless 12 times they called yesterday. I am so disgusted by their hard core tactics. I have never owned a kia ( now I never will ) They call for a woman I never heard of..........they have the wrong number but still harrass me constantly I have asked for a supervisor repeatedly and they refuse to let you talk to one. I have had to file a report with the phone company and if it continues today I will have to call the police. They are torturing me and it isnt even my account. They need to get their act together. If this is the way KIA conducts their business I am very saddened

Its Hyundai Motor Finance Collections.  Normally the caller ID is 800-523-7020 but now they are using 714-369-1890.  They are never on the line; its some sort of automatic dialer that their collection clerks
use, but apparently don't want to talk to you since there is never a human on the other end.  Stupid!!!!

Got a call on my cell phone & didn't know who it was. They don't identify themselves & asked for my last four Social Security # before they would tell me what is was about! I hung up & searched online only to find out it was KIA finance. I explained to them I paid online & wasn't late. I even got a Confirmation number email from them for the transaction but Kia said it didn't go thru & that I was late! What a hassle in dealing with them. They call you AFTER their is a problem it is Harrasment!

Quit calling me.  I have nothing to do with your company.  My ex-wife bought a Kia after our divorce years ago  I have told them several times to take me off her list/account.  I didn't sign for her.  I had nothing to do with her when she purchased this car on her own after our divorce.

Been going around and around with them about changing my due date so it won't always look like I am late. Nope, we can't have that now. Now they threaten to repossess my car. I owe you $240 you f**ktards and I will get it paid OFF next Friday. Then Hyudai can kiss my keyster.

I hate Hyundai! They are liars and VERY deceptive in the way they do business. I have been having a very difficult time financially and to make a long story short. This past Friday my car was repossessed. I immediately called Hyundai and had to speak to the reinstatement dept. and was told there was nothing I could do until Monday since they are closed on the weekend. They did fax an application to reinstate. I rolled out of bed and attempted to fax my application to them over and over and it came back "failed" attempt. Now mind you...they clearly state that within 2-5 days of your car being taken, the impound lot can move it anywhere/anytime. I've already lost 3 days. In the meantime I have been in constant communication with the impound lot and Hyundai. I was finally able to get my application to them on Tuesday after I insisted someone give me an email address. I had to call back to confirm they rec'd it. I was told to call back within 48 hours and they would have a decision. They didn't have one after 48 hours. I called back this morning at 7am to check and was told to call back..I did...they told me to call back. YESTERDAY I contacted the impound lot and Hyundai and shared my frustration with Hyundai dragging this out..they both told me not to worry...there was no order to move my car. Finally at 1pm I was accepted and told to Western Union what I owed Hyundai and to call back with a conf#. I did and was told to call back within 1-2 hours. The impound lot closes at 4pm. I called the impound lot to tell them I was waiting for Hyundai to contact them to release my car and to find out when they closed and was told 4pm and they would be closed the weekend. It was during this call to the lot that I was told my car was in KY! and that the order to move it came in the day before! I was lied to by the impound lot and Hyundai. So Hyundai dragged their feet after I did everything I was asked to do in a more than timely manner...was polite during the entire process, borrowed money from family to get this car back, rented a car, and now find out I have to drive 6 hours to KY and 6 hours back...AND pay God knows what to get my car back from KY. The entire process has been a nightmare and I have been treated like crap by Hyundai, put on hold may times, 3 times my name and number was taken and I was told I would get a call back...and haven't. It's horrible. GET OUT OF YOUR HYUNDAI!!!!!

If they are calling you at 5:30 AM your time, it's illegal.  They have to call you between the hours of 8:00AM and 9:00PM your time unless you've given them permission to call you during those times.  I'd look up the "Fair Debt Collection Practices Act" on google.  You should make them not call you at work but don't try for a cease and desist letter, unless you really want to be sued.

DO have a record option on your phone (cell or landline) and if/when they pull this again, record them and advise them, "You are being recorded, it's 5:30AM (or whatever time) in (city/town and state where you are), and you are speaking to (your name)."

After you record it, call their legal department and play this back for them.  You DO want the debt to be paid, but you DO NOT want to be harassed while you do so.

I have been receiving numerous calls from this number stating I haven't made a payment in over 90 days.  I have been sending my payments in on time since the first payment was due. Turns out the address given was wrong and my checks are in nowhere land. THEN when I realized I was sitting on all that money and was going to pay it they tacked on INTEREST equalling about 300 and want it due immediately and wouldnt take just what I owed or in part and pay the 300 later.
Not to mention this is the first I'm hearing about this. Over 90 days and they couldn't bother to contact me and let me know? Hyundai- I love my 2012  Accent, but at this rate, you can have it back, a buy here pay here wouldn't even treat me this way.

They call numerous times a day. I told them that I am willing to make my payment but they still insist on calling. It is starting to put alot of stress on me. I have been laid off from my previous company and am working with an unemployment check. They need to understand that the economy is bad and people are willing to do what they need to do to make ends meet. We don't do things intentionally so they need to understand that because their jobs can end any time and any day with a massive layoff. Don't get too comfortable in your position because nothing is promised.
