HAI GYSE.
i worked at GCS. they recently ousted me. so now i'm going to tell you everything i know about GCS.
first off, here's the locations and contact numbers:
http://www.gcsagents.com/company/locations/

now, i'll let you know that if you have BOA, US Bank, Wells Fargo(and former wachovia), or an Ocwen Home loan, you will be called. anyone we've put on the DNC list still gets called for 30 days or UNTIL you use your bank credit card again. your bank has in its terms implicitly that any use of their services means they can telemarket you.

the people who run the dialer are in the phillipines, and they aren't that smart. you will get 6-12 calls a day, most of which have no one on the other end.

we also did political calls. political are not covered by the federal DNC. it is legal for your representatives to harass you relentlessly. and i'll tell you, the ONLY way to not get called back on those political surveys is to just take the survey. i personally saw that marking them "do not call", still resulted in a call back.

i recommend calling the GCS offices directly (i was at the one in Mt. Hope, which is the main office), and speaking to the supervisors there. then IMMEDIATELY. file a complaint with the FTC, FCC and your local telecom. i saw cases where even when people tried to have their phone company block the number, we still got through.

Do what Vic says to do and just call the number back. That's right, folks. Just call now and find out how to be further harassed by unknown, voiceless, electronic, unaccountable and possibly fictitious entities with no physical address or means of being detected by authorities. Just call. Do what Vic says to do. Do it now.

They call at least 3 times daily, and all calls from this number are ignored. I will not call some suspicious phone number that shows up repeatedly. I'd be dialing all day if I phoned every suspicious caller who fails to record a message.

Rather than hide behind a veil of secrecy, they should be professional and leave a message.

The people who are inconvenienced by the calls should not be expected to take extra steps to make up for the telemarketer's / pest's / scammer's lack of courtesy.

I have been receiving calls from this number (caller id GCS) for months now.  At least 3 times a day everyday.  Finally I blocked it from my phone.  But I see they're still calling.  This is really getting on my last nerve.

Scammers LOVE IT when you call them back. it confirms your number and shows your willingness to follow instructions. And it's a great way for you to get EVEN MORE JUNK CALLS, because they turn around and sell this information to other scammers. The clown who gave this advice is either a fool, or he works for the scam, or more likely both.

The calls are from a marketing company that serves several large companies, including banks. They want to sell insurance services for your bank account, credit card account, etc.  Things like identity protection, ID theft prevention, etc.  Call the number back.  You will hear a recording for whatever service they were trying to sell you.  They will ask you to press 1 for a call back, or 2 to refuse interest.  Then a voice comes on to offer placing you onto their do not call list.  Follow the directions, punching in your number, wait for them to confirm your number, and press 2 like they ask.  Careful!  They sometimes cut you off, so make sure you follow all steps until you hear the dial tone.  That should take care of the problem.

I should have mentioned that I've been getting calls from this number, too, or I wouldn't be on this page! I've turned the ringers off on my home phones unless I'm actually expecting a call, but if I'm here and on my computer or watching TV, the call from "GCS" pops up on my screen. They never leave a message. I am a US Bank customer, so they may be able to call me if that's who they're representing.

Good info Chris. Here's some fun stuff to do with their telephone numbers btw;

This is not an ad and I'm not selling crap, just free info and fun and revenge!!! Muwhahahaa!!

Okay, I've written a book about getting even with telepests, it will soon be out so I'm posting this for free! You are responsible for reading the TOS (term of service) with any company you use for dummy email accounts and other services to make telepests lives hell (such as Craigslist). The more we can tie the telepests up, the less time they have to make calls to people and also the more money they lose.

Also can use free personal online dialers, even if you get a error msg from the phone system, most of the time it is a recording the person uses to keep ppl from calling him at 3 am, set the online dialer for auto dial all night, ignore the msg that this number in no longer in service and call away using the internet, turn your computer speakers off and sleep with a smile on your face!

2 other fun things to do to telepests is to make an online dating profile, find an amateur photo of some beautiful "young" woman, claim to be 18 and then under sexual preferences add ALL, then find another site a different picture slightly different comments and make sexual preferences ALL. Do one a week to keep the phone lines tied up with ho**y ppl trying to contact the 'bait'.

Another way to get even with telepests is to find something like Craigslist (although read TOS to make sure you can't get sued, like Craigslist will do), once you've found a fairly less than legalistic site, make an offer too good to be true. Selling 10 acre lakefront plot with home for 12000 dollars asap. Can also go on their personals and use the telepests phone numbers as your contact info. Get creative, do the lost and found. EX: Found!!! A clip with several 100$ bills in it, will return to owner if they can provide accurate description of clip and give me 100$ for a reward!!! etc etc.

As always, NEVER use your personal contact information, your real email address or anything that can identify you but make a free email acct on gmail, yahoo, juno, wherever, there are so many it's impossible to run out. Most sites ask for verifcation so this is how you get it.

I have so many of these ideas and have so much fun just messing with these people it's a riot.

Get creative and do your own revenge tactics!!

Daily calls with no satisfaction to the caller as these calls are routed straight to voice mail so that they may be screened, sanitized and vetted for pertinence.

The Global (non) Contact Pestering Society can keep calling. It's kind of nice that they can be depended upon to activate the coolest ringtone on the planet. However, no contact will be made between the caller and the called. Keep activating that ringtone.

FOUND THIS BY CROSSING GCS AND US BANK

Global Contact Services LLC is making illegal telemarketing calls

I have gotten 10 or so calls from GCS @304-877-2950. I posted about this yesterday. Today I spoke to the FTC counselor filing my complaint and asked if there was anyway they could be making the calls legally. My counselor said no. Here is the reason. She said I had no prior relationship with their clients so they cannot call me legally. They weren't seeking charitable contributions and they weren't calling about political donations.

GCS has clients like Bank of America, Insurance Companies, Verizon Telephone and does telemarketing for the Presidential campaign(over with) and some local election stuff(also over with). I spoke to CARRIE at the site the call originated from, Mt Hope, West Virginia @ (304)-877-0427 who explained to me who their clients included and what they do there in Mt Hope. She was polite even offering to pull up the call info to see the specifics. She said the calls were made legally because their clients are banking and insurance related. She said she could put my name or number on their DNC list.

BUT the FTC counselor said something else. Because there never was any business relationship between myself and these banking and insurance clients they acted illegally. They are a for profit LLC doing calls as the 3rd party for banks and insurance and I am not and never have had a business relationship with any of them. I am so happy I pushed on and looked into this rather than dropping it.

Some types of businesses, individuals, and activities are outside the FTC?s jurisdiction, and therefore, not covered by the TSR. Certain calls or callers are exempt from the Rule, too. Moreover, some of the exemptions from the original Rule have been narrowed in the Amended Rule. As a result, some calls or callers may be completely exempt or they may be partially exempt?that is, they may have to comply with some of the Rule?s provisions. The following sections explain the coverage of the Rule and the exemptions. Be aware that the FCC also regulates telemarketing practices; its jurisdiction extends to some entities and activities that are not subject to regulation by the FTC. For more information about the FCC?s rules, visit www.fcc.gov .

Some Types of Businesses and Individuals

Some types of businesses are not covered by the Rule even though they conduct telemarketing campaigns that may involve some interstate telephone calls to sell goods or services. These three types of entities are not subject to the FTC?s jurisdiction, and not covered by the Rule:

* banks, federal credit unions, and federal savings and loans.
* common carriers?such as long-distance telephone companies and airlines?when they are engaging in common carrier activity.
* non-profit organizations?those entities that are not organized to carry on business for their own, or their members?, profit.

These types of entities are not covered by the Rule because they are specifically exempt from the FTC?s jurisdiction.

Here is the part that applies:
*****Nevertheless, any other individual or company that contracts with one of these three types of entities to provide telemarketing services must comply with the Rule.********

Examples:

* A non bank company that contracts with a bank to provide telemarketing services on the bank?s behalf is covered.
* A non-airline company that contracts with an airline to provide telemarketing services on behalf of the airline is covered.
* A company that is acting for profit is covered by the Rule if it solicits charitable contributions on behalf of a non-profit organization.

Got mulitple calls from this Number 1.714.551.9585 I finally answered it and they said it was US Bank. I'm in good standing with US Bank with a positive balance so I told them I wasnt here and they hung up. I sent a email to US Bank asking them who and why are they contacting me thru this number. Hopefully I will get some feedback from them as I dont own a loan or a credit card with them it is confusing to me to say the least.

Multiple calls from 614-465-1676 and the caller ID said GCS.  I didn't answer and they didn't leave a message.  I find that if a valid company really is trying to get a hold of you for something, they leave a message asking for a callback.

This number called me with the ID GCS, but I wasn't home at the time. However, I just had another call that said GCS, with the phone number 614-465-1676 (it's worth taking a look at the other comments for that number). She asked for my husband, and said she was US Bank. When I told her she could talk to me she hung up. When I re-financed my mortgage it was bought by US Bank and they are constantly calling, but it often lists something other than US Bank on the caller ID, which is kind of suspicious to me!
