I just got a call from the same phone number. They did not leave a message. I'm a Wells Fargo customer, and thought that there might be a problem with my account. I'm glad that I checked out this website. Now I know this might be a scam.

Just recieved a call from same one Wells Fargo on I D.......Was on the phone and was going to let them leave a message......No message......10-07-11....I think Wells Fargo needs to do something about this fast......

Late evening call, answered, no response from caller. *69 reveals caller number to be 1-7-14-551-9794.

I got the same call on the program Defense. Same words everything. At the end of it as he started to ask for info, I threw him a curve ball and indicated I have MACs and this is a PC based windows based program. It shut him up and he didn't know what to say. Except goodnight. Good point how did he get the phone number!!

ive read on several sites it is a scam. they are phishing for info do not give ANY info. to them (which i never do) apparently they act like they are from wells fargo.

Got the same call, 9/13/11 at 8:45pm. Guy said he was from Wells Fargo, I tried to tell him that it was late, and he wouldn't listen to me. He continued to tell me about the web defender or whatever, and I said "Sir, are you listening to me" and he continued on with his crap, I then said "Since you're not listening, I'm hanging up on you now" and I hung up. REALLY SCARY as we are Wells Fargo's customers too! How do they find out our home number when we are unlisted!

Received  call from this number basically saying their trying to sell me web defense. I told them I was a IT and I probably should be selling them defense. After a couple more false trys from him he gave up and gave me some phone number to call and a " internet selling number TZ2076 " ( I could have that wrong but don't know what it is anyways). What worries me a bit is they have my home phone number and know I have a Wells Fargo account !! I am surprised that since an above person said they called Wells Fargo that Wells Fargo isn't doing anything about it ?

Got a similar call from this number, also listed as Wells Fargo by caller ID.  He was asking for my wife, but I told him that he could speak to me about anything bank related.  After several attempts to speak to my wife, he told me that he couldn't leave a message and could only speak to the 'account holder', apologized and hung up.  My wife and I both appear on all of our accounts...  so my best guess is that this person was trying, in particular, to speak to a woman?

Got the same exact call.  I thought it sounded weird- a bank selling some product called edefense.  This product doesn't exist.  Called Wells Fargo, and they said its fraudulent.  They are wanting credit card numbers and saying their "free trial period" only costs $1, which they will charge now.

Got a call from a man claiming to be a Wells Fargo rep selling a Web Defender type product.  After repeatedly saying "no" to his attempts at enrolling me in this service, which pulls a monthly fee from your checking account, he proceeded to automatically enroll me, spew a bunch of legal mumbo jumbo and refuse to hear me out.  I tried repeatedly to say "no," all the while he continued to say thanks for enrolling and spoke so swiftly I couldn't stop him; he stopped listening.  I called Wells and they said they don't offer any product like this.

These knuckleheads are most likely phishing for account info.  Stay away!!
