This is AWA collections.  They called long distance & left no voice mail.  I usually don't call if they consider it not important enough to leave their name, reference# and/or phone number, but I called back - they gave me a name of a person they were looking for.  That person must have given them a wrong area code.  I am in Texas- they want someone in the LA California area.  Years back I got calls asking for that name & finally they stopped.  The lady answering my call was polite & said she would take my number off their list.  Let's see if they do, since my experience with other collection agents was not positive-  they will call dozens of times over several weeks even after telling them about 6 times that they had the wrong number & to stop calling

The human mind is a terrible thing 'not to mess with'!!   Just tell them when you answer that you are a government agency,  Ie  fire department, court house , tax assessor  etc.  If you do the fire department they will hesitate, then quickly ask "Is this and emergency!'  they will stammer around and apologize.

Some atw collections company and the woman could barely speak English.. Calling for William Newton Hospital out of Winfield Kansas. As normal another company that bottom feeds off of junk debts. That must higher illegals since the woman was not able to speak English very well.

Trying to collect a Quest Diagnostic bill.  Since Quest is too lazy to submit paperwork to the insurance company in a timely manner I told them to collect from the Insurance I had at that time and do not bother me.  When people do not employ people who know how to do propper billings they cause people heart ache for years with collections that you do not owe.   Will sue because this should have been covered by the insurance company.

Here I go, I have been having the same issue, and it is about dental work that I didn't owe money to(at least I thought so).  Turns out that my dental place changed management and decided to send anyone with a bill over $50 straight to collectors instead of contacting their patients first.

After digging deep it turned out that after I had all four of my wisdom teeth pulled, they sent info for only two of my teeth instead of four to my insurance claims office, so I did owe money due to incompetences at the dental office, which I hear happens all the time.

AWA may be pushy but they are a legit collections agency and I would suggest asking them who you owe money to, give them a call to get in invoice, and then look over your claim with your insurance company and there is a good chance you will find discrepancies.

I received a missed call from them too...I called them back and they were looking for someone else with the same last name.  It was AWA Collections calling.  They best remove my number from their list!  I always look up missed calls and it's a waste of time looking them up when they aren't even for me!

this number keeps calling me and they say i owe money from dental work from 2008 for my son who is now 11.  I don't owe anything and they won't send me an invoice they just want $583.00.  They are crazy and I won't give them my money unless they prove I owe them.

I just got a call from them and I've never had anything in my name. I didn't pick up but if they call again they'll get an earful. How can they collect something that has never existed?! Ugh

I got a call last week and this week with no message left. I called back but was left holding.  Thanks x.employee I am going to answer the phone next time and ask for Irene or Allan.  LOL Now that's the way to get back at a company and their managers!

I can tell you for a fact.that all these people use alias as names when they call...so if you wanna get their attention ask to speak to Allan adler he is the owner and a lady who is the office manage who goes by marla mapes. Is actually Irene leuvano,by the way their office is located at the corner of batavia and katella .

These people at AWA keep calling my sister looking for me but I think  their wasting there time I never gave nobody mi sister number their liars and how they get her number? Stockers!!!

So they call me ask for my husband, he's not available can I help you I'm his wife. Not unless he gives permission.. EXCUSE me, last I heard my bills are my husbands and his are mine!.
Unless they tell me what this is about. My husbands says they can %$@! off and he'll be more than happy to tell them the same.

that is not necessarily true. i conduct private investigations, and there are many web sites that link family members and friends for a variety of reasons. collection companies derive great pleasure in locating any possible link to individuals they harass.

To Jolisa M:  If you were better informed you would know that all "chef" has to do is say that she doesn't know that person and to never call her back as she can sue for harassment.  The collectors have no power over references.  And if you happen to be the person they are calling for, you can take the person's name and the Company they are calling from and then tell them that "On the advise of my attorney, I cannot talk to you and if you keep calling me, it will be my pleasure to sue you".

Beware - don't ignore the non-messages!!  Months ago I received two calls from this company - no message left on my voicemail.  Now, I just checked my credit score --- and AWA is on there for an undisclosed collections debt - my credit has been seriously affected.  Be proactive with this awful company or it will come back to haunt you. I am kicking myself.

Called at 6:20pm.  Caller ID says AWA.  I should get my land-line telephone number unlisted.  These credit agencies should not be allowed to go through the phone book, and call everyone with the same last name as their delinquent "client."  Oh well...I'd still get the scammers who use computers to call every possible number.  A no-win situation...

These people call all the time they are calling on a dept that is more that 10 years and paid off!!  Even when you tell them this and send the info they still call back only from a different person!  OH YEAH and they NEVER see the notes on your account that someone else has already call and you have sent the information again and again.  b

Yes it is AWA Financial looking for someone that doesn't live here. They tried calling from another not local # but the same 771 3690 diff area code, I called the other # leaving messages not to call. Every time they called it hung up until you call back you get someone, hopefully they stop calling already put them on do not call reg.

Got a call from them saying I owe money.  Of course, I demanded proof, they sent me an invoice that plainly showed a balance of 0.  When I confronted them on this, they said I owe interest.  Last time I checked even 100% interest on a ZERO balance was ZERO!!!!!!

Tell these people to get a life and a real job.

Honey, they're calling you because your friend (who wasn't really being a friend) gave them your number as a contact, and if they can't find the friend, they'll keep calling you and keep calling you. Talk to your friend and tell them what a mess they got you into, then tell them to take care of it or you'll rat them out.

I got a call from them today...but they asked for my friends name??!?! Why are they calling me?!?!

I work for the federal GVT. I have received 2 calls from Linda from AWA. Ext 236. How did she found my work number. Only work related calls are allowed.

I don't even know why they are bothering me. The only bills I owe are Mortgage, Utilities & Insurance. They are all up to date. So they need to find someone legitimate to harass & stay the *#?! out of my life & off my phone.

Hee...hee....these people are so fun to mess with, ex: play pre-recorded animal sounds or jacked up noises. I swear I almost wet myself listening to these people -like when you call them back fr two diff phones and let them talk to each other..hah hah....they  don't know wtf is going on.
As a side note- I'm retired now and kind of enjoy their attention. It brings joy to my day that I'm providing employment to somebody :).

I agree. I don't owe any outstanding bills that I'm aware of. They hang up when the voicemail kicks in..oh well u wanna talk to someone at my house, you better leave a message first.
