"Tony" w/ heavy Indian accent calling for "Debt Elimination Dept." He's phishing for info, not trying to sell a lead to a debt settlement company.  Do NOT give him any actual info.

Evidently someone has called with this number twice in two days , never leaving a message.  I returned call but it said the number was  'unavailable".

So i got a call from this number when i answered there was no one there. I called it back and it rang into a hotel in CA , the woman i talked to said someone hacked into there satellite system and calls were coming to them.

This number called me as well but if i don't now the number i usually don't answer. So i am glad i looked up this number to see what it was before i answered it or called it back.

By the way, the message I just left was referring to a call on October 28, 2010.  The other posts are see are from August.

I got a call on my cell phone at 11:45 am today and did not answer.  I filed a complaint on the Do Not Call registry.  I recommend not answering, do not give them the satisfaction of harrassing you but if you do answer start quoting Bible verses such as John 3:16 "For God so loved the world that He gave His only
begotten Son that whosoever believeth in Him shall not perish but have everlasting life".  They will hang up before you get six words out.....can't hurt and may help.

I am so annoyed I can not stop getting these people to call me, they claim that they are debt collectors when I told them I had no debt that said "yes you do" it is an indian guy with a heavy accent. I told them that I was reporting them and that they were harrasing me they don't care they keep calling. One day they called me 6 times between the hours of 2 pm and 11 pm I get phone calls that wake me up out of bed late at night. i just registered my cell on the national do not call list i sincerly hope that this helps.

I keep getting calls from these people with an Indian type accent.  They tell me they are from some Debt Management Company.  I immediately tell them to remove my number from their calling list and one kept playing dumb that I yelled it at him over and over.  "DO NOT CALL ME ANYMORE!"  He hungup on me.  These calls started after I responded to a junk email about a debt relief company that claimed they could cut my credit card debt in half and they wanted my social security number and credit card numbers of which I refused to give either of.  The original guy I called was a very slick talking white sounding man with a thick New York type accent.  The calls started coming in after that, he must've gotten my number off of caller ID.  They are calling my cell phone number and using my minutes and makes me feel like a prisoner of my own phone because I look and ask myself if I should answer that number or not.   I can't just answer my phone anymore without looking at it to see who it is.  I am really disgusted that people would do this.  What scum!

I just got several calls today from this number and when I called them back they said that the number was out of order. Does anybody have an idea about what's going on with these b*****ds?????

Got a call from 714-795-3100. They said from bell canada. Number is in California. Scammers. I blocked that number from calling me as they call every day and say collection agency,or change their story. Always same number. All of the have east Indian accents? Foreign? Bell has never heard of and say they are scammers.

I keep getting the same call day after day after day--tells me he is from Bell Canada and I live in alberta and Bell does not have land lines in Alberta!  Thick  African negro accent who can barely speak English!  Freaked out when I told him he did not work for Bell.  Never mind what else I told him to go do  to himself.  Quite frankly I enjoyed his stunned silence and will do it again should these b*****ds call. Lead them down the garden path, waste their time and at the end give them words in English they would not hear from polite company.  Great fun!

I just got a call from this number and he sad he was from Bell Canada and had a special offer for me,   i then proceeded to tell him to take me off of the list and he hung up.
I live in Canada and work for TELUS,  makes me aggravated that there is not much i can do but be aware.

I also got a call from these people - they asked to speak to the person who "owned the telephone number." They claimed to be from the "Debt Relief Center." I asked them who they were calling, as I have no debt. They asked me if I had credit card, doctor bills, etc.,. I asked them to put my number on the "do not call list"...before I had the chance to say the word "list' the lady on the other side of the call hung up. (There was a great deal of background noise - assume they are working in a large calling center with poor sound insullation.)

They continue to call me asking about assisting memwith debt, I politely tell them to quit calling and to remove my number from their list. They of course say they will, but guess what they continue to call anyways.

If you are targeted by these criminals, be sure to report them to all the following federal and state law enforcement agencies (most of which you can do online or over the phone):

Scam alert: Bogus debt collectors

This scam isn't technically about credit cards, but it is scary enough to post a warning. The Better Business Bureau issued an alert today saying consumers across the country are getting phone calls from bogus debt collectors claiming default on a payday loan. Of course, the consumer needs to pay a large fee to avoid arrest -- as much as $1,000.
The caller poses as a lawyer, and may threaten extradition to face trial if the consumer doesn't pay up immediately.
What makes these calls alarming -- and perhaps convincing -- is that the perpetrators reference the consumer's personal information, such as the person's Social Security number, driver's license number, previous bank account numbers, home address -- even personal references.
"The amount of information they have is really troubling," says BBB spokeswoman Alison Southwick. She adds that the amount of data points to a possible security breach.
Spread the word to your friends and family: Don't give out personal or financial information to an unknown caller. Scammers can spoof Caller ID to display different numbers, so trust your instincts over technology.
The BBB offers these tips:
?    Ask the debt collector to provide official documentation which substantiates the debt.
?    Do not provide or confirm any bank account, credit card or other personal information over the phone until you have confirmed the legitimacy of the call.
?    File a complaint with the Federal Trade Commission online if the caller is abusive, uses threats or otherwise violates federal telemarketing laws or the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act.
?    File a complaint with the Better Business Bureau online if you believe a debt collector is trying to scam you.

Since so many people are getting these calls from 714-795-3100, what is the local Telephone Company doing about this widespread abuse?
Likewise, what are the law enforcement authorities doing about this?

I received a call from this number at 8:30AM (Eastern Standard Time). Therefore, the caller was making the call at 5:30 AM (Pacific Time).

Just got a call from that number! I live in Canada and its 10pm, noone on the line, called it back and says temporarily unavailable! Wont be answering it anymore and will block the phone number!

First time hearing from them tonite. No one was on the other end of line. Number seems to be from a villa in california? May be spoofing that number thru the computer. Could also be using Magic Jack!

I received calls from this number over the last couple of days. Never answered it. I live in Canada.

I have been getting calls from this number on my cell phone for about 4 weeks now,  between 10-20 calls a day.  Getting really sick of it, when I try to call back, there is a msg telling me the phone number is disconnected and to check the number again.  Trying to find a way to make it stop.  Its a Cali number,  I live in Denver,  and don't know of anyone in Cali. and have only been to LAX.

Calling my work number and caller ID shows it as Vintage Welling.  I'm not answering it, it isn't a company that goes with what I do for work so I know it isn't a real company.

This isn't the first time it has happened to me. I got a phone call from another company few months back, threatening me and bad talking me when I told them to please do not call me again. When I looked up that number (dont remember it) there we so many posts of people getting calls from the same number and the people calling were threatening the recepiants lifes and families.

I live in Metro Detroit and I have been getting calls from this number for the last several weeks. I never picked it up because I usually screen all my calls from numbers I don't recognize. After missing several calls from that number and never recieving a voicemail from it I called it back only to find it was disconnected. I finally googled the number today to find out who might be calling and found this message board. I'm glad I found this site because it doesn't appear the calls are going to stop any time soon.

He was unlike usual telemarketers from overseas who are keen to transfer you to a US based compnay who'll pay them for the lead. Very evasive. He's a phisher, not a lead seller.
