I received the recording saying sorry the number was called in error at 3 pm in ohio. I do not have caller id, so am unsure where it came from. I called Frontier telephone service and they were unable to help determine if this was a scam or tell me where the call came from. Scary, I don;t know if that is a way for them to link to other calls internationally or checking to see if anyone is home. Someone needs to get some more info on this!

Call from Underwriting dept regarding lower interest rate. Not my bank, nor their underwriting dept. Sales call I am sure.

Received recording from my "loan processor" telling me I qualified for lower interest rate, but offer is only good for 3 days.  Language implies it is your mortgage company when it is actually not.  Live in Aloha, OR.  Don't think anyone is "casing" the neighborhood; just an obnoxious sales call.

Got the same prerecorded message this morning @ 5:50 - and agree - time for an FCC complaint

We were called at 5:19 AM PDT on April 5th, 2010 from this number.  A robotic voice said our number was called in error.  We blocked the number.  A search on AnyWho.com indicated it was an unregistered number.  We too have been on the DO NOT CALL LIST forever.

6:42AM !!! WTF !!

We got the robotic we apologize we called your number in error.

Weird.

I also got a call from "Nicole." She is "authorized" to lower my mortgage interest rate, but I don't have a mortgage.

I live in Aloha, OR as well ad have also been on the DO NOT CALL list for ages.  I just received a call form this number a few minutes ago.  I did not pick up the phone, and no message was left.

Sounds like the same story. I answered & it was a recording "We apologize, we have reached your number in error." Then it hung up. I guess it took the computer that long to realize that we are on the national do not call list.

Whoever it was they said, " We reached your number in error" in very weird robotic tones and then hung up. Not valid sales call in my opinion, just a scam of some sort waiting for the "right" mark to answer the phone, whatever that may be.

Area code is Orange County, CA but with number spoofing they could be anywhere.

Hmm...I just redialed it and the phone system answers as Meridian Financial. I think someone is spoofing Meridian's number.

Just got a call from 714-881-7450 and I said, "Hello"  A recording says, "We're sorry, we reached your number in error."  Hummm, how would a recording know that?

called me a few minutes befor 10:00 PM.  When I answered the weird robotic voice said 'sorry we have reached this number in error'/  You have to be kidding me.  Who calls that late at night??  I am on the dnc list!

I got a message on my answer  machine about some mortgage.  I don't have a mortgage.  Must be some Phishing call.  Says hit 7 to be put on there don't call list.  Not me!!

Sounds TOO fishy to me...my first thought was someone casing houses, I admit, and it could still be if the number is being spoofed, but it may be scammers just trying to see if the line is live for a later callback. UGH.

Just got the same call, same message.  I'm wondering if the computer sends that message to those on the do not call list or forwards the call to sales if the number is not on the do not call list.

I answered the phone today and heard the automated message: "we apologize we have reached your number in error".  I then did an internet search and drilled down to the phone number: 800-470-2791.  I called the number and they said it was Meridian Financial.  I asked them if they called me with the automated message.  He did NOT deny that they called me and said that they would take me off of their call list.  I then asked why they called me in the first place as I do not do business with them and I am on the DO NOT CALL list.  He then wished me a good day and said he would take me off the list.

I just got this call as well.

I've gotten 3 calls this past 2 weeks or so from some indian loser saying that they were technicians and that my computer has a virus and that they had been "automatically contacted" and were calling to do a fix over the phone.

He wanted me to open my browser and go to a certain site so that he could "fix my problem remotely" from his computer.

DO NOT FALL FOR THIS. They are trying to get into your computer for visa numbers and personal info and allowing REMOTE ACCESS from another location is very real and possible.

Im so sick of scams. I'd like to knock the teeth out of all these f****rs that pull s*** stuff!

I got this call too. "We're sorry we've reached your number in error."   I'm in Milwaukie,OR

Got this same call at 6:30 a.m. in Oregon City, OR.  Also on the do not call list.

I live in Milwaukie Oregon and this 714 number came through from Santa Ana with a message that they had reached my number in error.
