Recording calling about my mortgage and I have been approved for a great rate 4.25.  The call back number is 1-800-606-5131 to talk to my Underwriting Department because they need additional information.  Offer is valid for only 3 business days.  I do not have a mortgage.

Just received a call from this number and it sounded like a recording...there was a pause before the man's voice came one.  Same recording as stated in other posts.  "We reached this number in error...."

Received call from this number, 714-9991-5420.  Instructed to call 1-800-606-5131 to reduce my interest rate to 4.9% on my mortgage.  Only 3 days to respond.  I told him that was great, since my credit rating "sucks".  Phone went dead immediately.

This is a service building a database of working and non-working numbers.  Once you answer the fact that it is a live person is recorded and you can expect more telemarketing calls.  Be nice if the FCC could put a stop to this abuse..

7-7-10 10:28 CDT - Amy of Underwriting Department (no company name) offer to lower mortgage payments at fixed interest rate @ 4.99% and left # 800-606-5122. Called 800#, got Joel and asked name of company, Meridian Financial Corp. He explained they are federally insured and have relationship with my mortgage financial institution but no personal information. He explained that they call based on "payment history".  Said that their information could be 6 months old.  My mortgage paid off 9 yrs ago.

Got this message.  Was told I could have 4.99% mortgage, which is not much better than what I have now.  I was told to call 1-800-606-5131.  I only have 3 days! Stupid.

# called and got our answering machine & hung up.  We are on do not call list and get a 1/2 dozen or so calls like this everyday.  Pays not to answer - they should pay our phone bills.

Claimed they were the underwriting department, (didn't say what company) and could lower our mortgage to 4.99% and that we had to call back their 800# and confirm our information within 3 days to get the rate.

I keep getting calls from this number. I called it back and the number was disconnected. I put it on my blocked list. I am on the do not call list and I still get calls from companies I do not do business with. The list is a joke, like many government programs. They know the chances of getting caught are  minimal and so they just call. To file in court you need their name and address and phone. Good luck because they use computer technology to hide their numbers and give your caller ID false info. The FCC caller list is a joke, they cannot prosecute if you complain and nothing is done, They should also extend it to political calls and charities. I don't want to be bothered. I had someone call for a fireman's donation here in Jacksonville, Fl. and I said I am a retired law officer and I cant give now. The caller got perturbed and said, yeah sure, I bet you cant, same old story all day long, and snobbishly hung up. Hey, I pay enough in taxes, I dont need to contribute over the phone. Plus I found out the callers are private companies that keep almost 90% of the money from calls for the firefighters. So I only give now directly to the firefighters or agency I want to donate to.

This is the second time since May I've gotten a recorded message from this company offering me a "lower" mortgage rate.  The first time they offered something like 5.35% - this time 4.99% - still higher than my current interest rate.

What baffles me is that I reported them to the ftc website, since I'm on the DO NOT CALL list.  guess being on the list and reporting violations seems to make absolutely no difference whatsoever

I run a private business in my home.  I received a call just like it has been reported numerous times ahead of me.  Some have mentioned this to be a phishing scam, while others have reported it to be a collection agency.  My credit rating is 812 and I pay all invoices upon receipt through my company.  So, I am assuming it is not collections.  What is a phishing scam?

Received the call from 714-991-5420, blank air. Figured it was a scam call so didn't try calling back. Most of these guys spoof their phone number so you cannot call back. They never honor the do not call list because they are anonymous behind their spoofed phone number The poor slob who has the spoofed number usually ends having his number changed because of all the irate calls he gets from strangers. Unfortunately there is no way for the average Joe to trace these calls.

Same story as others..lowering my mortgage rate if I call back within 3 days. I'ts been 0% for over 30 years.  Many calls get through despite being on the government's (laughable) Do Not Call list.

They called and left a message. A lady named Amy said she was from a motgage underwriter  group stating that based on my payment history that I was pre-approved for refianancing my home at 4.99%. She said that I might qualify for an even lower rate but she needed some additional information. It's a Southern California area code.I now live very close to Washington, DC,

I receive calls from this number several times a week.  I do not answer.  On those occasions that they do leave a message, it is usually regarding lowering interest rates on our mortgage.  What good is the
"DO NO CALL" list if this and other numerous scam calls keep popping up.  I hope someone can stop these calls.

Same anonymous recorded message reached us in Maryland, ". . . apologize, we have reached your number in error." Caller ID showed only 714-991-5420 and CALIFORNIA. I backdialed and got a telephone company message to the effect that the number had been discontinued and was out of service.

Amy, of Underwriting Department (no company name), offer to lower mortgage payments at fixed interest rate. This was a recording. The last call I got from this smae number stated that "We have dialed you'red number in error"... also a recorded message. When I call back another recording states that this number is no longer in service. Obviously not true since someone is apparently still using it.
Getting to be a real pain in the a**. I'm on the Do Not Call List and have filed another complaint against this number... for what it's worth.

Received call from this number today.  It was a recording stating that "we have reviewed your current mortgage and are able to give you a lower interest rate".  Gosh, that's lovely, especially since we have NOT had a mortgage in almost 20 years!  Do any of these highly questionable "companies " honor the Do Not Call List anymore?  BTW, it appears that faudulent real estate and mortgage "practitioners" continually victimize residents of Maryland, and that little is done by the authorities.
