The scammers from WNY do NOT send anyone to any workplace. For the same reason that they will not give out a physical address or mail those federally mandated notices of validation. They know that to do so will mean that they can be found. They do NOT want to be found! If they can be found, they can be mailed cease & desist letters and, more importantly, they can be served with nasty legal documents. Junk/Zombie debt buyers (and their minions) live in constant fear of being served. It's a delicious irony when you consider that most of their income depends on the use of empty threats being made to their targets of the very same thing.
Western NY may be the birthplace of the bogus debt collection industry but, the bottom line is, they're every bit as pathetic as their Indian counter-parts. A demand for a notice of validation to be delivered via the USPS (as per the FDCPA) will send a WNY scammer into the very same fits of frustration that an Indian scammer will display. The only real difference will be the fact that the Indian fraud will probably be a little smarter. The Indian fraud is hampered by his accent. The WNY fraud has no such excuse. He's just desperate & stupid. They're both beneath contempt. They're both bottom-feeding parasites.
Be Safe. Be Aware.

Thomas Griffrin called me and told me the exact same thing.  When I told him I already paid it off, he said that I only paid a portion and that I still owe the balance and if I didn't pay it he said they will send someone to my job.

Marcus sounds like he works for this collection agency. In no way can they threaten you or force you to pay. They can't arrest  you or have the police come after you for a past debt. All they can do is (if they follow all the rules and regulations of State law) take you to court in a civil suit and hope to get what they want from there.

These people are third party collections agency.  They try and threaten you stating that you will be arrested and charges will be filed in your county and this is a time sensitive issued. I have being doing research and you can't be arrested for not paying back a payday loan, but you can have a civil suit filed, however you should received correspondence in the mail regarding any information. They can't give you any information regarding the loan, (the original amount of loan, the balance when defaulted or anything). I would not pay them one cent, because one of my friend had a Quick Cash loan she didn't pay and she paid it off last year and another collection agency called her saying she had a loan with Quick Cash and when she told them that she paid the loan off and had paperwork to prove. She only had one loan with Quick Cash and when she told them, they wanted to know the loan # and then proceed to tell her that the loan number is not the same loan number they had on file. These people are scammers.  Do your research. File a complaint with Consumer Financial Protection Bureau.

This is a collection agency that for me was dealing with a defaulted payday loan with QuickCash from a couple years ago. I totally forgot about it but apparently the company was about to press charges for fraud, so I was able to work out a deal with this agency to make payments. Not sure what the name of the company actually is, but I always talk to an "investigator" named Thomas Griffin. It's legitimate.. The only complaint I had is the voicemails left initially by the recorded machine are very cryptic, like "you've been named as a person of interest in case #12345". If you are getting a call I'd recommend answer or call them back and make sure you handled your bills.
