Omg that just happened to me minutes ago same story as well!

Same thing!  Just trying to make them think they have a sucker on the line.  Don't understand what they would do with my Paypal email.  Ca. They hack it?

Have a truck listed on Craigslist. This person texted asking it was still available. Later, received a three part text message saying that they were at sea (an engineer) and was wanting to buy as a surprise for this person's son. They went on to ask, why are we selling the truck. Most of the people that we deal with on Craigslist don't send three part text messages and then question as to why we are selling the truck. Googled the area code and saw it from Pennsylvania (too far from where we are now), then googled the entire phone number and found you guys here. In turn, told hubby our first instincts were right, it's a scam.Thanks y'all!

Just got a text from this number about a car I'm selling.  Same story, he's a Marine at sea and wants to buy it as a surprise for his son.

Forgot to mention they are trying to buy my car listed on craigslist, they will send an agent to pick up the car.

Yup is happening to me at this moment!!!  Insisting on my paypal info. They want  it for their son and they are overseas.

Texted me about a $1200 workout item on Craigslist - said they were an engineer in the navy and wanted this as a surprise for their son. Really? SCAM!

Craigslist Scammer, do not do business with this person. They tried to get us to buy a golf cart sight unseen, no way, no how, be smart people.

The message looked like one I received earlier from a 646 #. I see that other ppl have had the same problem. Thank for the heads up!

Same here.  Wanting to buy my car.  Said he was at sea and could not send or receive phone calls.

Same thing happen to me. I was selling a scooter and received a text stating he wanted to surprise his son and that he is overseas and he is a engineer in the navy!!!! Scam

Had a boat for sale on Craigslist wanted to buy it for son as a gift. He was engineer in navy. Wanted me to send paypal account and Paypal email. Called PayPal they said to ask him for his Paypal acct. it's a scam.

Same person just tried to scam me too saying he was at sea with the navy and wanted to buy for his son.

I received a text call from this number today 05-05-2013 on. Motorhome I had listed on Craigslist.  Fortunately I was aware of text scams and looked it up.

Received text - said he was in the Navy looking to purchase for his son as a surprise

Same thing just happened to us, this time the story was that he wanted to be a surprise for his son....  We told him that we where on the DNC register. Apparently he stop texting.

Yes we were scammed by a person name  Christina Wilson we're trying to sell her something thru Craigslist and this person Christina Wilson told us that we needed to open a PayPal account and then to send them money through Western Union, so that this company (Impediment Shipping) could pick up the item.

Craigslist scammer. received messages expressing interest in my listing.  He was at sea with the navy and wanted to buy for his son.  after being cordial and asking some questions that would show interest in the item but not actually questions that pertain to buying a motorcycle.  They requested my paypal email and said they would wire the money right away.
